Chiyo has no memory of her real parents. Unlike many miqo'te, she was not raised by a traditional tribal, but by a lone amailj'aa beastman named Gol. Gol raised Chiyo almost like any other father would, teaching her the basics of fighting, hunting and gathering. Because of this, though, Chiyo had some trouble fitting in with others, aside from her occasional crude behavior.
