Appearance

The man appears to be a hyur in his mid to late thirties, with more than a few strands of grey strewn across the otherwise black back-slicked hair. He appears to be of a slender build, and prefers to wear robes or loose fitting shirts, often in darker blue or green colors. There's a few scars across the mans arms and legs. Most of them rather old, and probably caused by thin blades. He's rarely seen without his glasses, but the extent of his need for this is unknown.

Personality

To William, it is important to maintain proper manners and demeanor at all times, or.. so he tries at least, the man has a problem maintaining his facade around certain people, wether they be friends, at which he may turn into something of a cheerful storyteller, and then there's rude people, which turns him into a snarkmonster of seldom seen magnitudes, something he usually regrets afterwards, or not, it depends on the one on his recieving end of his remarks.

He can also be rather reclusive when he reads, finding it hard to let people in once he's started on anything, and can turn angry from even the most minor of disturbances. It either takes his brother talking him down from his anger or a quiet evening with abottle of wine for him to reflect on his mistakes, and apologize accordinly, because if there's something the man maintains, it's a sense of righting his own wrongs, sometimes to the annoyance of the ones he wronged, as he's quite adamant at making "right."

Background

Few people know who Montoya really is, records show that there was a family by that name which attempted to bring order to Limsa and put a stop to the once rampant piracy. But, somewhere around the calamity, it seems that the family mostly vanished, possibly casualties of the world-changing event.

If William indeed is related to this family, he doesn't talk about it much, at most he mentions an upbringing in a gilded cage, and that he may or may not have been quite a brat during his formative years. He had a strict, but not loveless relationship with his father and was groomed to take his spot one day, although he later seems to have either fled from, or been relieved of this obligation.

The most recent accounts have the man emerging from the shroud, a few years ago. With a young Miqo'te male under his wing, Reza'li Khaan. Their relationship seems to be one of mutual trust and respect and he often refers to the cat as his brother.

RELATIONS

Romantic attraction     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Poor Standing Neutral

Suna Rokuyari A fellow book lover, Little Suna and Montoya made quick friends as she maintained the kitchen for the company where he set up his office. She later hired him to find her missing sister, a mission which he was at first reluctant to undertake, fearing the girl to be dead and the revelation would only bring heartbreak to the girl. Still it was a job, and he took it, and to his surprise, managed to bring the siblings together.

Katja Hoax Not the best of first impressions, the man managed to throw a few rather vicious insults her way after she tormented Suna, something he later regretted as it was made clear that the woman was lashing out, and while he didn't approve of her way of coping with it, he also felt the need to apologize. Later had to ask her to take an order for a friend, and since the woman complied with little ire, he's trying to move past the initial rocky start.
