A P P E A R A N C E

Standing quite close to seven fulms, Adel make it a point to keep her appearance tidy. She prides herself on her light eyes and hair, which contrasts nicely to the almost navy shade of her skin, and she makes light use of makeup. Although she claims no favorite color, a large majority of her clothing is some shade of green, gold or purple. Compliments or even simple observations of this fact will deepen the color across her cheeks and nose, and cause her to turn away. Her rose colored hair is likely to be found pulled up in some fashion, although she is fond of braids and curls, and when not traveling she might be found with it loose about her shoulders. Her right leg is tattooed with the names of those she's cared for and wishes to remember.

B A C K G R O U N D

Adel holds no memories before she was twelve years old, and even the first immediate years after the fact are dim and dark. She knows she had a living mother and father before the Calamity, as well as five brothers. She knows her family made a living as thieve and rogues, and that she was wounded after making the wrong handholds while climbing a cliff face. It was this injury that robbed her mind of its previous thought, and damaged her ability to form new ones. Her family was a close one, and did their best to help, and took her to the Conjurer' guild in Gridania.

Over several weeks her memory returned, but the ability to form new ones seemed to be damaged. A healer helped the effects to not be a crippling loss, but it seemed like a scar had rooted itself in her mind. She lost her sense of direction, a nearly devastating thing in the Black Shroud, and she began to rely heavily on maps. Names were a disaster, although time seemed to be the best cure and that was slowly remedied. Unfortunately for her, she found herself jeopardizing her family’s safety with her now loose tongue. They left her in Gridania with a handful of Gil. It was a Lalafell Botanist named Yiyiyo that took pity on her and invited her into her home. With her height Adellenne was able to help immensely with harvesting and she had a home for quite a few years. Her memory suffered still in the form of lapses in judgement or her handy knack for getting lost whenever she was on her own.

Unfortunately Yiyiyo was killed when out harvesting, and it was Wood Wailers who came to the cottage Adellenne shared with her. It was the first of many names she tattooed on her leg, as well as the word 'family'. Others would soon follow.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Even in silence Alaria is able to speak volumes through his careful bodily movements and extensive collection of ever changing facial expressions. At first glance the Elezen might seem a bit hard to approach (considering most of his free time consists of gardening and meditating in shallow rivers), but once one takes that initial step it becomes quite easy to see the emotionally scarred man hidden behind the flowers and sassy façade. Believing that when you allow yourself to care for another, you only end up hurting yourself in the end, Alaria refuses to go out of his way to put himself into unnecessary danger. Doing only what he deems necessary at any given moment, the healer shows both spite and compassion in equal measures when one or the other is due. Quick to distrust, Alaria will only expect the worst of someone until given a reason to believe otherwise.
