Brightmeadow Farm, the Anderson residence
Brightmeadow Farm is a small stretch of (player created) land where Frank Anderson and Kyle reside, far enough away from Limsa Lominsa that traveling to it by walking will take three or four hours or more, and high enough in the hills that the upper levels of the City can be seen from the property. It is a one Acre plot, where they have their two-story home hidden away in the woodlands. The tiny Farmstead has many small, varied crops and sufficient space to rear small livestock, producing just enough to sustain themselves and little to sell to surrounding settlements. In game terms this would perhaps be located behind Summerford, roughly to the North-West where players cannot access, near or closer to the mountain. From the Aetheryte at Summerford you can see most of what is being described.
Physical Description
- Height: 5 fulms
- Weight: 145 Ponzes
- Body Type: Slender and athletic, androgynous
- Hair: Light Natural Blonde
- Eyes: Azure
- Skin: Slightly tanned
- Scars:
Kyle has many obvious scars all over his body that show a fleeting childhood and a great vested interest in the labours of the land, hunting and fighting. Many nicks and scratches that are of lesser significance to the ones that are most noticeable. Which are: Two puncture scars on his upper left abdomen as well as those that are the result of deeper lacerations on his arms, chest, and most notably one scar across his neck. It is remarkable that he lives, even more so that he is healthy.
- Clothing: Most, if not all of his clothing is made to serve a longer term of abuse, many pieces of which have had repairs done to them over the years. It is all plain, beaten up and dirty. Any embellishments are always objects which have a purpose. However, he will often wear nothing but a pair of shorts.
Personality
Some deep cuts remain as fresh as the day they were dealt to Kyle, his traumatic experiences in the chaos the destruction inflicted by Bahamut may forever remain as elements of his personality.
The young Miqo’te carries a presence of confidence, always standing tall and smug, even in the wake of failure and defeat. He is an individual that is loyal to his own ambitions and a veritable outcast of society for protecting his freedoms so fiercely, considerably intolerant of being told what to do by people he has no association with, and the machinations of people he believes fail to connect with the interests of people that are just trying to make a livelihood. It is then no surprise that Kyle has spent much of his time in solitude. He does not deal with people very well, often finding company and interacting with others to be physically and mentally taxing. Becoming so agitated as to insult people entirely unwarranted, beyond the bounds of his knack for unbridled honesty.
However, this is something Kyle tries to fight in acknowledgment that it is an improper mechanism of coping built in times of great hardship. He knows it is wrong to distrust people so much to resort to completely isolating himself from civilization, as much as he enjoys living and surviving in the wilds free of the toiling of people, he claims it would be a personal failure to not at least carry on his father’s legacy, a suitable guise to obfuscate an ulterior motive.
Many will perceive Kyle as an individualist. Though that is not the entire truth, there is only scarce an occasion to show his indomitable loyalty to his family and his charge. A desire to protect and provide for his aging father and his brother remains steadfast below the callous, smug exterior he has fashioned for himself, only to hide how exactly sensitive he is. Perhaps, one day, this desire will extend beyond his family or his duties.
- Voice:
A cross between a deeper feminine and a youthful masculine pitch, it is raspy and oftentimes will begin to crack and quieten after use. Kyle is surprisingly well spoken because of his closeness with his adoptive parents, whose education reflects in his choice of words and fluency, making an accent difficult to discern.

Family
- Adoptive Father – Frank Anderson (NPC)
A Highland Hyur who was the leader of The Murder and the owner of Brightmeadow Farm in Western Vylbrand which served as their headquarters before the Calamity. The Murder is a band of mercenaries renowned for skill, superior strategy, wit and training beyond that of your average soldiers. The Murder were conscripted by the Alliance for clandestine operations, or to train recruits. Frank Anderson is the only remaining member of The Murder, the group never recovered from their losses at the Battle of Cartenaeu where they were tasked with crippling the reinforcements for the imperial legion. He prefers now to rest and tend to his farm, teaching his son old ways through the years.
- Adoptive Mother – Jeannette Anderson (NPC, Deceased)
A Midland Hyur who was Frank’s other slice before she passed, the mother to three of Frank’s biological children who have long grown up and moved on to other ventures even before the Calamity. Jeannette was the first of the couple to accept Kyle truly as their son, though she could offer to him no more than comfort. She was lost to the destruction brought by Bahamut during the fall of Dalamud. Kyle has never truly let go of how he was left alone by Jeannette during the chaos of the Calamity, even though Frank has come to peace with the loss of his light this many years on. Jeannette is the body of the sea of rage which churns interminably inside of Kyle.
- Brother – Alter Bee
Born as identical twins, Bee was never far from Kyle. The boys grew up in roughly the same region, unawares of their biological relationship even when they met face to face. Alter Bee was adopted by another, a wealthy merchant by the name of Dedrik Bee, an eccentric, well-meaning man not particularly well known for his best decisions, and living proof that talent is unscrupulous. The boys met many times over the years. Following the Calamity, ever meeting one another again seemed like a mathematical improbability. That being said, the unlikely did eventually occur once stability returned to the city states of Eorzea, a fleeting encounter that changed both of the teenagers lives. Imagine it, looking into a mirror that is not there and remembering all of the times sitting around at a dinner table, playing in the woods, cray fishing, rough-housing and beating hedges with sticks and never knowing exactly what you had was. The realization of a true paradigm of stupidity is what occurred on that day, 7 Years after the Calamity. As they spend more and more time together Bee has begun to extract something from Kyle that is not his commitment to his training or his responsibilities, but the yearning for adventure outside of Vylbrand and recovering some aspects of the childhood that he lost.
Friends/Acquaintances
- Alter Bee (Best Friend) – None will ever be as highly considered as Bee is to Kyle, who is mostly friendless and outcast. Kyle will fight tooth and nail to keep Bee safe, even though the Monk can look after himself. Needless to say, their newly found bond has helped Kyle begin to heal some scars of the past, and bring on positive changes in his attitude in the last couple of years.
Enemies/Rivalries
Kyle was a rat as a child and even worse in his early teens. Caught stealing on many occasions and fighting in the streets, he is overall distrusted by the communities of Southwest Vylbrand and Limsa Lominsa. Especially disliked by some in consideration of his actions following the Calamity, where he defended Frank Anderson’s farmland from the bandits coming off of the roads.
The most humorous of his rivalries is the one that he has with local fishermen, who he insists tries to claim the fishing spots that he uses for themselves, the cause of many fist-fights and shouting matches.
Combat & Skills Training
- Stratagem, Kyle specializes in large and small scale military strategy.
- Reconnaissance, he can observe, understand and accurately report enemy manoeuvring.
- Adept survival skills, Kyle is able to survive and navigate alone in the wildernesses of Eorzea.
- Advanced level manipulator of melee weaponry, a formidable opponent in an armed duel or fight.
- Archery, a skill trained to an intermediate level through frequent participation in hunting.
- Tracking and trapping, of wildlife and people.
It is clear to anyone that Kyle is trained by a man of military disposition, and certainly one of notable ability at that, he has inherited this knowledge and tempered it in the harshest gauntlets. The Seeker practices almost all of the time that he is awake, and takes positively from his many failures and losses. Through this he has become extremely proficient in melee after years of training, and is an unrelenting, tough as steel opponent. He has a finely honed talent for scrapping, and does so like a truly savage wretch. Few do not underestimate his ability to end a fight.
Although Kyle is a tough, skilled fighter and survivalist. He knows well his limitations and his own shortcomings, he will not often entertain a fist fight against people that are well versed in its arts. He knows when to run and when the odds are balanced against him, when he is caught unarmed or grossly outnumbered, but is prone to push against this out of anger.
Physical Ability & Trade Skills
- Incredible level of cardiovascular fitness and physical endurance.
- Intermediate maintenance skills of weapons and armour.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry and stonework.
- Ability to prepare the land to cultivate basic crops and for the rearing of livestock.
Working as a farmhand and mostly being entirely self-sufficient means that Kyle has many trade-skills under his belt almost all that he has learned spending time labouring for his father, the standard he produces is only ever adequate and functional, implements of necessity only. However, Kyle is obviously tirelessly industrious and likes to move around, he is happy to work menial tasks.
The Miqo’te has a passion for pushing his physical limits. Pursuing runs of great distance and challenging personality, a pastime he has entertained for years. If there is ever an opportunity to prove himself in competition, this is one he would drop everything for, within reason, to pursue.
Aetherial ability
After many years of constant training with his mentor and father. The young and upcoming sellsword’s admirable discipline and nearly obsessive level of dedication he has given to his training reflects in his ability to manipulate his Aether. If there is one thing that Frank would ever speak of Kyle over the years, it is that it has been like taming a beast, one that staggers on the edge of an uncontrollable rage.
Kyle can manipulate his Aether to enhance his strength, his attacks and his toughness. The Miqo’te has demonstrated causing immense damage and sustaining injuries that would otherwise be grievous or disabling to another and continue fighting, unrelenting in a skirmish even against multiple opponents. The veritable origin of his nickname, ‘’the dogged wretch’’.
