Character

General

All of this is outdated trash, wait until I actually update this stuff, Dear GOD.

Appearance

She is nicknamed the Snowflake of the Desert by many people who notice her. Her skin is unusually white, as well as her hair, and her eyes red, due to her severe case of albinism. Her hair is as white as her skin, and silky, reaching her shoulders.

Personality

Quki is a sassy, pun spewing, sarcarstic, short fused, but confident and lovable Lalafel who is curious about everyone and everything, but grimly realistic about the world and others, to a point of being a bit off-putting. Both her personalities are really prone to being Snarky if cornered enough, and she will highly distrust and avoid someone that can identify her age just from her physical form. She also can be quite greedy, having come from a long line of Business Owners in Ul'dah, and is always up for the next lucrative job, albeit she will not accept pay if the request is something simple, or if she believes it wouldn't be fair.

When focused, Quki can be incredibly ruthless and cold, aiming to make sure a foe is finishing off, and avoiding giving mercy, for it could leave loose ties, as well as her endless search for power, albeit she wants this power to validate herself as not weak anymore, and protect what she cares, her hunt to it can even cross Taboo and Moral Issues.

Combat

She is an Thaumatist of the Order of Nald'thal, and moderatly talented in the arts of spellcasting. Her spells can randomly come as a bit too strong or a bit too weak, specially because of the lack of maturity on her body, which she passes off as a lack of focus. So far, due to her recent pilgrimage to Ul'dah, that's her only expertise in Combat skills.

Relationships

Family

She used to have a healthy relationship with her family, and beloved by all it's members, up until the Cataclysm which destroyed their family Manor. Becoming refugees, each brother and sister went on their way, and she was eventually left to fend by herself, since because of her condition they couldn't afford "another mouth to feed". Since then, talking about her family is a big sore spot. Even among her friends, and at the insistence of the Adagio Brothers to consider the Crew of the Midnight Moogle their family, she still doesn't really feel it. She misses her brother, and one of her sisters, Lilika Lika the most.

Friends

Ramona Spencer: Definetly her best friend, both began in a typical cocky friendship, but the illusion quickly shattered after the events on the Garlean Fortress, giving way to a more true, intergenerational friendship. With Ramona, Quki feels much more at peace with her age, since Ramona treats her more as a friend than someone she must protects, which she is glad for.

Shashato Shato: Shashato was very important in Quki life, pretty much being responsible for her first glance at the reality of her limitations and to avoid her from jumping into the Abyss of total obsession from power. A friend figure, Quki loves to tease her, making puns whenever possible and humoring her sometimes insane thoughts.

Kestrael Grymstahlwhyn: One of the persons who were at the Garlean Fortress, Quki considers her a good friend, and a partner on the rare times she goes to the Adventurers Guild in Limsa. Albeit she does find the obvious maternal instincts Kestrael has for her a bit annoying, she does know it is justified, she is not only a Lalafel, but actually a minor.

Jigumundo: Her teacher, Quki admires Jigumundo a lot, and is always eager to hear his teachings.

Melody Adagio: The closest thing she has to a mother, Quki admires Melody for letting her keep a job at the Midnight Moogle even knowing she lied to her, and for introducing her to Professor Jigumundo. She is always kind and happy when she's around, and she always help Melody with her own training in Thaumaturgy.

History/Timeline

She is the youngest daughter of an once very wealthy dunesfolk, owner of many mines around the Eastern Thanalan. She was born with Albiness, so her hair and skin are really bleach white and her eyes red. In the desert enviromnent of Thanalan, this irritated her skin and eyes a lot so she spent a lot of her life sheltered and using full body clothes. She played with her brothers and sisters and some sons and daughters from her father friends. She never really knew her mother, which left them some days before the calamity and after having her, claiming she was tired of the settled life and left, leaving only the starter Thaumatist Staff, which she used as a toy and to pretend she was a mage when she was young, getting chuckles from her 6 brothers and 5 sisters (Really big Family, even though her father was a single kid).

The Calamity whoever, devastated their properties and the life of the patriarch, which died going in and out of the flaming, ruined mansion to make sure they escaped well, and she was only 9 when it happened. Without money or family, the family became refugees since then, which made her treatment even more complicated. Since most of the family knew the ropes, they eventually went their separate ways, and she was cruelly left for dead at 14, claiming life was harsh and they couldn't afford her special treatment and another mouth to feed. Devastasted she just...stayed there, on the desert, holding the Thaumaturge Staff until someone, could be a character here or maybe her mother and didn't recognized her found her. Asked them if they were a Thaumaturge and she said she had no idea. They housed her for a while, gave all the information she needed, fake documents to lie about her age and sent her to Ul'dah to the Thaumaturge Guilds, claiming that in rough time like these, she needed to be strong and make her name. Inspired by the generosity, she went.

Lost at the Desert

She didn't knew the other areas of Thanalan besides the East well, which led to her being lost on a courier job at the North Thanalan. Her skin really irritated, thirsty and in pain, she sat down near a rock, using it's shadow to give her relief, and to empty her boots of the sand. There, she met Chachanji, which tried to help her, giving her water and offering a ride on his Chocobo. A bit suspicious, she immediatly rose, doubting his intentions and believing to be a hunter for slavery rings, which shocked a bit Chachanji and he tried to make her trust him. She gave him one condition, to let her hold his sack of bits as a collateral, threatening to burn it and her bird if he dared to go any other way than Ul'dah. He did it anyway, shocking her. As the chocobo led them back to Ul'dah, she apologized to her behaviour and they chatted. To this day, she has a small crush on the Lala, albeit she is aware he has someone else and it's obviously older, but she still likes to admire either way.

The Midnight Moogle recruitment

Quki became a frequent user of the Vesper Bay bridge to Limsa, constantly wavering between one another for jobs and training. Whoever, she left a bag of gil back on Vesper Bay after paying for a drink, and had no money to return to Ul'dah after finishing some errands the Maelstrom left available for adventurers. Hopelessly lost in the region, she sow any job that gave immediate available money, and found a Wanted Poster for the Midnight Moogle, a tavern on the Mist. Making her way there, she met the Adagio Brothers, Melody and Brio. She lied about her age, as always and got the job.

Garlean Fortress Event

For a while, her cover worked really well. She began her adventuring journey taking the oddjobs of slaying peasts, deliveries and whatsnot in the busy town of Ul'dah, but her life changed completely when, together with N'velhi Tia, Ramona Spencer, Kestrael Grymstahlwhyn were hired by Shashato Shato, an archaeologist to protect her while she dug for an artifact that wasn't disclosed, for 10 thousand gil. Considering an easy job, she followed, but wasn't aware of the precise location of the digging area, basically infront of a Garlean Fortress, which she definetly wasn't prepared. Being a literalo nervous wreck she followed, doing her best, but her magic was still weak and thus she was basically carried until the Fortress which near there the group kept low cover, slaying the occasional guard. As Shashato dug the artifact it was revealed to be, apparently, an Aetherite Crystal, and it's release freed massive amounts of trapped aether, alerting nearby Garlean forces. The group was forced to fend off a Vanguard, and albeit her spells were vital to defeating the Vanguard (She constantly froze it's limbs, reducing mobility and opening weak spots, since she was certain her spells wouldn't work directly), they later had to run, finally reaching a safe spot on the camp nearby, the Garleans not willing to pursue them that far. In the splitting of the bits, she became partially traumatized and tried refusing the payment, considering that her part was quite small, which Shashato refused and made her accept the bits. Disheartened and sad, she teleported to the only place she knew, the Midnight Moogle.

There, trashed, tired and sad, she was open with Melody about her age and situation, whereas Melody consolated the poor girl and, seeing an opportunity, took her to see Professor Jigumundo, which saw clearly her potential in magic and took her under his wing. Happy to have some akin to family, she merely smiled, stayed for a while and left the mist, sack of gil in hand and constantly sobbing on her way back to Limsa.

The Invisible City

She began dedicating all her time and experience to training, setting aside the hunt for jobs, instead simply wandering place to place, and slaughtering every wild animal and bandit her eyes could glance, believing the constant practice would enhance her power, as it did in her youth. Her "killing spree" ended at the Golden Bazaar, where she was training, constantly killing the imps and reanimated bodies of the region. This day, she was visited by Miss Shashato. Happy to see her again, she took her to the ruins, and demonstrated her power by repeatlessly and ruthlessly slaying the imps around the entrance of the ruins, shocking Miss Shato. Sitting her down, she tried to understand why such ruthlessness, which Quki coldly explained that she needed to be strong to have any worth in the world, and explained her past. Shato sympathized slighty, but brushed that aside by not being in the slightest proud of her feats, saying that killing merely for power would turn her into something akin to a monster, and rationalized her on her actions. Quki came partially to her senses with the chat, and thanked Miss Shato, saying she will take this journey as to discover what she truly wants in life, which was akin to a half-truth; albeit she truly wants to know more about herself and the world and maybe a set role for others, her hunt for power is still present, and merely tuned to be for a "better" cause, to protect the ones she care about. Since that, she became also closer to Ramona and Melody, since they both are under the wing of Professor Jigumundo.
