Appearance & Personality
- In three words, Luna is short, supple and slender. A smallfry on the Miqo'te scale, she stands 4 fulms 10 ilms and 90 ponz. Her Keeper heritage is glaringly obvious, what with her luminous amethyst eyes, moon-bathed skin and snow-white hair (( as picturesque as that sounds, Luna is usually covered with dirt and bruises )). For someone who boasts of being "tough shite," Luna appears (( humorously so )) the opposite: small boned, girlishly figured, childish pigtails... not to mention an undeniable sparkle of cute. Even so, Luna is not to be mistaken for a sissy milksop - she is not lethal, but one gets a foreboding feeling of impeding mischief when in her presence; the impression that she goes out of her way to be disobedient. Another cue to "aw" one would think, except this... purpose of hers has gotten her beaten senseless, frequently. And she digs it. She can take "playful" and "tease" to vicious levels, not fully understanding - or not caring - that she provokes danger. So, you could really call her an asshole.
- Carrying on, Luna is a free-spirited free-thinker with a insatiable desire for play and randomness (( ... if she didn't look purely Moon-kitty, you'd suspect she was Sunny )). She likes to josh around and be mysterious, both quietly and not so quietly finding/creating all sorts of trouble. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty and likes to get into a good scrap, which kind of goes hand in hand with her lust for quick, chaotic situations. Her level of assholery really depends on her level of sobriety and weekly income.
- Lastly, she does not want to be your friend unless she can use you, so any attempt of companionship from this Miqo'te would be a rollercoaster (( you have been fairly warned )). She keeps her promises as well as any thief would and is ultimately concerned with serving her own best interests.
- On her person, one would find at all times: a dagger, flask, small mirror, various plant matter, a diary illustrating plants, a spy-glass, glass vials and other compact containers for transporting explicit substances.
(( Voice: TankGirl... if she talked more like a Lominsan pirate. ))
Biography
(( Purely for any OoC interest in her back-story - it is unlikely that Luna will ever share her tale. At this point, she's too accustomed to lying. Plus, as may have been noted, she does not refer to her family by names - besides Ari. She'd much rather forget and move forward. ))
- "I was born 1560. Me Ma an' Pa were modern Miqo'te, Gridanians born an' raised - she made 'erbal remedies an' 'e loved timber. They had four kids - that's 'cluding me. When I was still wee an' Ma was ripe wif 'er last, we up 'n moved all the way t' Limsa Lominsa. Ye gotta understand what it's like fer a forestborn t' leave the wood - ye can take a Keeper outta the forest, but ye can't take the forest outta the Keeper.
- So why'd we move? Me Pa had got talkin' t' some traveller from the city in the sea, an' 'e told 'im that the navy was in need o' ship-builders. Pa loved his craft, an' gil is never nuffin' t' be scoffed at, 'e told me. I was six at the time an' me brothers ten an' seven, so this woulda been '66. 'N 5 cycles went by, none the extraordinary. Ma had 'n apothecary stall all done up nice, 'n I was t' learn the family trade. Pa was gone frequently, sailing through salt wif his new crew. Y'know, growin' up, ye start t' notice stuff. An' I could tell Ma hated bein' second best t' the Lady o' Waters.
- Anyroad, life was life till my Pa never came back. Ma crumbled, but was tryin' t' 'old the pieces together. She'd always been fragile as a wine glass. I was 'leven then, I 'member 'cause it was one cycle till the war. An' when that cycle passed, the biggest o' my brothers left t' fight, leaving me with a Ma an' babe t' take care of. Ari was there too, an' we tried our best. But we were kids, an' kids don't know better. We ain't meant t' bring home the bread an' butter.
- An' then I was thirteen, an' Ma might as well 'ave been gone too. 'Ave ye ever seen someone, someone sleepless? They stop 'membering things, look right through ye, an' when it goes on fer lon' enouff... It was crueler o' her t' be there than t' just die. Ari couldn't take it - 'e was gone all the time too. 'E got our gil through slaying an' blood. I got our gil through stealin', peddlin', pushin', runnin'. I was sellin' sailors the worst kinda shite, an' 'cause I started t' do the shite too, I didn't realize Ma had started sleepin' again. Didn't realize what it meant. Didn't realize the somnus. If I hadn't o' been all smoked out from the street-leaf an' unbearable o' company, I woulda drank that poison too, a drink t' dreams. Whatever was still 'wake in 'er closed the curtain - but not 'fore one final scene. I never understood how ladies could kill their babes. They say that love's "unconditional," they say...
- So now, I have no Ma. I have no Pa. Eternal sleep took me baby brother, battle bigger than him stuck me big brother in the gut. The only brother I got left got out when it was smart. 3 cycles ago, I hated. I hated me Pa, me Ma, the sea, the drugs, the war, the people, the places, the things, 'n finally... everythin'. 'N my hate spilled over, like an eruptin' volcano. 'N then my hate cooled, 'n what was left was a rock.
- But I dun want ye feelin' sorry for me. 'Cause I don't feel any sorrys fer ye."
Combat
- Dexterity and Speed - On account of being kind of shrimpy, Luna relies on her agility and cat-like (ha) reflexes to evade, counter and conquer. She has quite a bit of stamina, allowing her to dip, dodge and duck her opponent's strikes for quite some time before wearing out. Even so, she
is not the Flashcan be incapacitated with a well-placed bop on the nose. See the trope Fragile Speedster below. - Deception and Manipulation - Inherent of her gender and the most deadly of her arsenal, Luna can screw with you in all sorts of ways... without you even knowing! She hopes, at least. Mind games~.
- Stealth - Other than wielding battle-instruments, this is Luna's favourite part. I mean, she ain't called "Skulk" for nothing, and darkness is her dearest friend.
- Weapons - The key for Luna here is creativity. Sure, it's fun to snipe with a bow and lacerate with a knife, but Luna likes to makeshift her environment into equipment if possible. 'Cause there's nothing as priceless as the surprise in an opponent's face when you come at them with a clothing rack. (( Much like the stunts of Jackie Chan! Har har. ))
