Background

His mother was a chocobo caretaker and his father is unknown. She died of sickness when he was young and he was given to Lady Caecillia's care. He grew up in her brothel being trained to entertain and pleasure anyone who walked through the door, as well as the art of flirting. He was taught to read and write, as well as poetry and art. As he got older, his curiosity grew and he often read books, retaining the information he absorbed to the point he could recall perfect details in his observations at the brothel. Lady Caecillia nurtured his thirst for knowledge and allowed him far more freedom than others in her employ.

During his sixteenth year, a natural gift for healing magic became apparent. Deciding he would like to help others with his ability, he left the brothel to study community, as well as other healing techniques.

Appearance

Standing a little taller than the average midlander, Rick is all lean muscle. His honey colored hair is kept stylishly short and has slightly darker tips. His eyes are icy blue though, unknown to him, they will sometimes show spots of red when he's enraged. He doesn't like scars, since his time with Caecillia taught him to always look his best.

He is most comfortable wearing nothing, or as close as he can get. He is usually seen wearing a hooded shirt that exposes much of his torso. He likes the matching shorts and will either wear sandals or tall boots, depending on his mood or magical inclination. He wears glasses, mostly to read, but doesn't really need them. He just looks good in them.

Personality

Rick is very curious, and that sometimes leads him into trouble. He's charming, flirtatious, charismatic, and easy going. He is always willing to help people (another thing that usually leads to trouble). Not much can bother him.

He does have a darker side, though. It takes a lot to anger him, but he will continue to smile as he plots death. If pushed too far, he becomes cold and distant and calculating.

Religion

He follows that path of Oschon, but not truly. He sees religion as a means for people to escape or blame others for their problems. He is scientific and does not truly believe in God's.

Quirks

• He has a terrible phobia of large birds, possibly from an incident when he was too young to remember. His memory is photographic but he keeps journals and plant diaries to reference if necessary. He often clocks his head to the side in a sign of curiosity and has picked up the habit of raising one eyebrow from a friend. He will also eavesdrop to learn anything he can, even if it's just nonsense.

Combat

Rick is a firm believer that the greatest battle won is one not fought with swords. His tactics begin with trying to talk before anything else. If that does not work, then he will run. If pursue, he will defend, and as a last resort he will exterminate the threat to himself or friends. He prefers healing and support, but is also well versed in destructive magics.
