Rena Rhaz Gran（レナ・ラツ・グラン）Rena Ratsu Guran, real name R'ena Rhaz（ル・エナ・ラツ）Ru-ena Ratsu, is a player character on the Balmung server. Rena is a white mage Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, who lived in Ala Mhigo before the Garleans invaded.

Appearance

History

Rena is a Miqo'te coming from a unique but unfortunately now endangered tribe of Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, the Opo tribe, all of who have monkey-like tails instead of feline-like tails. When she was one, the Garleans invaded Ala Mhigo and then killed all of the Opo tribe except her, who was already safe in the care of the Gran family leaving for Coerthas. Rena's story is mostly shared with Niklas, so check his wiki for the story.

After the Calamity, Rena wound up in Gridania away from his brother. She has stolen from robbers and gave to the poor, like a Robin Hood, and then met a man named Rutu, who led her back to Ul'dah, and then back to his brother.

Personality

She has parts of the typical little sister behavior. She is known to be mischievous and childish, but she is also pure-hearted and loves nature, just like Niklas. In a way, Rena is basically a female Niklas.

Affiliations and Known Associates

Zahara Nunh "I know I can trust him. My heart trusts him." :blushes: A strong and nice Miqo'te Rena found looking at her in front of the Quicksand in Ul'dah. Together they went and had fun at Costa del Sol, and then he defended Rena when Aaron grabbed her tail. While they were chatting, Rena fell in love with him, and Zahara has feelings for her.

Rutu Tutu "This sweet man is who reunited me with my brother!" Rena holds a high standing to this rather flirtatious Lalafell, who guided her from Gridania to Ul'dah for her so she can reunite with her brother, Niklas.

Xuri Tia "He seems like a nice guy! We are both alike in many ways I can tell!" This outgoing Miqo'te is a close follower to Niklas, joining him on his first leve as a Gran Knight, and he holds some respect for Rena for being his sister. Rena and Xuri both know fist-fighting, although Rena is more of a mage actually, and both are orphans, with complicated pasts, so they can relate.

Aaron Glacier "This mean man insulted me! And Niklas doesn't seem to like him that much too, and the other way too!" When Rena first met Aaron, he thought that she was spoiled because she announced herself as Niklas's sister. Already having amnosity for Niklas at the moment, Aaron doesn't think highly of Rena as a result, and vice versa.

• Special: Her tail is a long brown prehensile monkey-like tail, much longer than other Miqo'te tails. She is also known to use her tail like a monkey as well, like an extra limb. However, this unique tail is also a huge weakness, as when grabbed, Rena becomes extremely weakened and unable to move, unless it is let go. Also her eyes glow in the same way as Niklas's does. She also wears two hair bands on each of her ends, which also acts as limiters. When Nik chants a unique phrase, the bands tighten and hurt Rena greatly until he stops. He only uses this for punishment and if she ever gets out of control.

Strengths

• She can use her tail as an extra limb, using it to climb trees and grab stuff.
• She is quite nimble due to her stature and nature.
• She has shown to be quite skilled with dual blades, as in one time in the past when Rena used them against their original wielders.
• She has a unique healing power, which is the same as Niklas.
• She carries a blade inside her staff, allowing her to be versatile and efficient in close quarters combat.

Weaknesses

• If someone grabs her tail, she becomes immobile and is in great pain, unable to do anything.
• She has a short temper. She can be easily raged if someone annoys her.
• She absolutely hates the cold. She doesn't want to set foot in the now snowy Coerthas, which was her previous home.
• She is smart, but she is not very bright, therefore she does not understand half the smart things she says.
• She is still mostly reliant on her foster brother. If he is not around, she is helpless most of the time because he guides her.

Like Niklas she does not follow a set religion. Her guardian is Memphina, the Lover, which is actually the deity of the Keepers of the Moon.

Quirks

• She carries marks on her cheeks similar to Niklas.
• She has a large amount of aether in her. Her magic is really powerful as a result.
• She is from the monkey-like Opo tribe, with the same naming as the R tribe.

Equipment

Rena carries a staff with her, named Sieglinde, which conceals a hidden blade in it. With it, she can easily switch to physical combat if she wishes.

• Son Goku: I based her monkey tail and antics on Goku from Journey of the West and Dragon Ball, and also her personality is partially based on Goku's.
• My sister: This character as a whole is based on my RL sister.
