Barbarccia Valadis, a somewhat recent upstart within the eyes of the public. With the recent passing of her father, she had seized control of the estate and her namesake quickly making a name for herself among the nobility of Ul'dah society. She is well educated, quite intelligent, and backed by a vast fortune supplemented by a trading company she had inherited. Quick to bore, and eager to push things to their limit, Barbarccia carries herself with confidence and proper form. She can oft be seen in elegant attires and very expensive jewelry, one thing she is not is subtle, but with a virtual private army at their back, who would be? She is always eager to meet new faces, and to add gifted individuals to her inner circle; rogues, knaves, and the dishonest beware.

Given Name: Reina Valridah [Ray-Nah Vhal-Ree-dah] The name holds a grand significance among the sept to which she was born. Given to her by her grandmother, it was carried as an omen of one who would bring change, riches, and fortune to those around her.

Adopted Name: Barbarccia Valadis [Bhar-Bhar-Chi-Ah Vhal-Lih-diss] One the youth had a chance meeting with a very important man and a game of high stakes was played. The girl was taken in as a squire and daughter. She renounced her past and quickly adopted a less tribal first name before eventually earning the rights to the last. Being an avid reader, she selected the name of a mythical creature and donned it onto herself.

-Muse Keeper of Secrets. Muse was a persona created in an attempt to be incognito in certain business dealings and affairs that required a subtle touch. Snickered at more often than not due to it's rather childlike simplicity, she now keeps it in order to not confuse her contacts. The name has never been linked to her personally, and the last person to be seen utilizing it was a browned haired, dusky skinned Miqo'te.

-Barbie, Barb, Bahb, any Variation of~: Typically utilized by people who had deemed themselves rather witty. A few of the people who know her rather well call her this. She herself dreads the name and sees it as a sign of disrespect, however most people who bring it up know that she's never actually do anything about it.

Titles: Barbarccia tends to be many different things to many different people. She enjoys withholding much of her past from people so that they may not invoke those thoughts into an expectation. She has thus made a habit of not sharing her past feats or titles that she has earned. These are some of thoes titles.

-Mistress of the Valadis Estate She has inherited and actively runs almost every avenue of her namesake and it's assets. There is much responsibility and prestige that comes with it. The Valadis house is almost as old as Ul'dah it's self and has been influential for many years. Many still question the truth to this claim, but one only need see the woman to know the truth to it all.

-Silvertongue Keeper of Secrets She once held the prestigious position of second in command within the Silver tongues, defenders of the realm. Although the group faced a rather sinister fate. She was able to flee the fall out and to avoid persecution. The title holds her honesty and dedication to keeping information and coveting knowledge. Even when the company is no more, the fact that she was deemed Keeper of Secrets is testament to her loyalties.

-Saint of Strategy Upon her induction into the Harbingers of the Dawn, Barbarccia quickly ascended the ranks with a bit of subterfuge and bribery. Once seated on the top, she breathed life into the position and helped establish how the branch should be for all the peers who would follow. The position required her to take great care for the lives of others and to plan around the shortcomings and strengths of thoes under her to squeeze victory from defeat.

-Vyldbrand Academy Instructor She was enrolled an active teacher within the Vyldbrand Academy. The school tucked away in La Noscea served as a home for wandering souls seeking to improve themselves. Barbarccia helped shaped what would become the finest engineers in the school and would educate all that would listen in the virtues of truth, honesty, responsibility and respect. Her classes however were based in defense against the void arts.

-Star of Wealth A chance meeting followed by a mark of the heavens has deemed her with the cryptic title of Star of Wealth. To the outside it would seem that it is a measure of her vast fortune, but she however suspects that it may be a measure of how much knowledge she has accumulated and her passion for learning more. One thing is certain however, among her group it would be hard pressed to find someone with more boons of fortune that the highlander woman.

-Monetarist Quite a shock to some, Barbarccia is in face a monetarist. While she does like Nanamo ul Namo as a figure head and individual. She feels as if the city state would be in far better hands should it be handed to a group of individuals who could better utilize it's common wealth and could breath life into where it matters, the industry and trade. She bears no ill will to the Sultanate, but will not leave the fate of her assets to someone for the sake of traditions.

-Head of Black Sun Northeastern Trading Her father's company and seat were one of the assets that were handed out to her when the man had passed. The Trading Company utilizes Land, Sea, and Air travel and seeks to export specialty goods and equipment to any who would seek to pay it's prices. The company was doing quite well under her father's regime, but has recently fallen into decline due to Barbarccia's inability to cope with the sheer magnitude and the wealth of enemies she had inherited as well seemingly always conspiring to pull at her sanity.

-Ex-Sultansworn, Elite of Ul'dah While it would be hard to believe that the haughty girl was once in the service, it's good to remember that her moral compass has always been virtuous and just. She still carries herself with immense dignity and is quite proud of the fact that she worked very hard to get where she was. "I used to be a knight." Could still be heard from her from time to time, a memento to a title she once used be quite proud of.

-Daughter of Ziegfried Vas Valadis~ To certain people who would know... The man was a very firm, very proud, and very loyal to his nation. Ziegfried was a proud Garlean refugee of many years and served Eorzea with fervor to the end. None, not even those closest to him would know of his Garlean lineage and it would be his biggest and proudest secret. Those of Garlenmald who were quite familiar withe trade would know that the man's Grandfather would leave and move the prestigious family to create his own birthright, now today, the only heir left to the title is Barbarccia herself.

-Diplomat and Politician While by no means the most influential person within Ul'dah politics, she has thrown enough of her wealth around to become notable for being able to cause change. She could be seen in public forums proposing plans for the handling of refugees within the city state or lobbying for the interests of her party. She from time to time entertains important individuals and seeks to push her own agenda against them. She has also more than once prevented fallout and infighting among her peers with her calls for logical solutions.

-Grindstone Champion An odd title given that she is by all means not a remarkable fighter. Once feeling rather down on her prospects and tired of being defended by others around her she decided to test her blade in the sparring competition. She in fact came very close to losing and had only won on the virtue of tactical combative decisions. [Dirty Fighting] Cornered, she flung piece after piece of her armor at her opponent, before tossing sand to the man's face, then tripping and disarming him. The victory was short lived however as she lost every other attempt at this title.

-Seat on the Board of Ethereal Regenesis The secret business conglomerate forged from many cycles passed. Many wealthy families with businesses in their name had banded together during times of uncertainty to make certain that they would remain afloat due to bulking their influences and working together to crush lesser competition. Through the years, many people had come or died and the seats had changed from representative to representative. On her father's passing she was inducted in his stead and now serves to promote the group's interests albeit silently.

-Bane of Voidsent It's no secret to anyone that knows her that the large majority of her hobby time is spend in the development, chasing, and destruction of the parasitic creatures of the void. She detests them much to the worry of her companions, and works feverishly to counter-measure every instance she's come across. This crusade against the creatures has led her to become very jaded against void-touched, and void-possessed and has made her many enemies in the past with people who sympathize for those people. She has since become rather knowledgeable on the subject and is one Eorzea's most successful hunters of said creatures.

-Researcher Not a big surprise as the title encompasses all of her interests in a neat, non-questionable bundle. This is often her first title to fall back on and her favorite due to how open to interpretation it is. She does in fact covet learning new information and is always out seeking to learn what she can in the fields of engineering, atheric manipulation, archeology and sciences. She is an observer by nature with will certainty invoke this title if she deems things interesting enough to watch.

-Engineer The Valadis estate rests atop a large facility burrowed deep into the cliff side collection of homes known as the Goblet. When the woman disappears for days, she is most likely deep within the confines of her labs working feverishly on one project or another. While she is by no means an amazing revolutionary, she has the uncanny ability to take established sciences and then change and fine tune them to change the concept almost entirely. She is far from working alone however and has gathered the assistance of many grand engineers to help in her pursuits.

-Practitioner of Aetherics She has delved into the manipulation of Aether and it's effects on the world and has gathered a working knowledge on how to shape it to some degree. While she has witnessed many far better practitioners than she, she's learned how to make use of her reserves to use magic to the degree that it can be relied upon. Favoring Arcanameic Geometry over conjuring, she carries various singular pages of sigils inscribed in precious inks on her persons and can be seen using it from time to time although she would be quick to dismiss the claims that she's gifted at it by any means.

Residence: The Valadis Estate [Goblet, Ward 8, Plot 43, North Subdivision] A dubious mansion tucked away deep, deep in the goblet. People that go in rarely are seen leaving the gates, some assume that the house may be haunted.

Perched high upon the cliffs on the highest roost lays a large manor resting beside the large windmill. Surrounded by a wall of iron bars, obscured by deadly flora the manor has stood here for almost an entire era. The Valadis family was in fact not the first to reside within the halls. The home had seen and survived the great war with Ul'dah's sister state and it is said that it's owners perished within the basement. Once purchased, the owner did little to lift the almost gothic, worn house and Barbarccia herself has done little to change it. Some say that the mansion still houses the spirits of the dead and that terrible noises could be heard coming from the basement.

The interior is decorated quite lavishly, dusky wooden walls build into the stone, imported from the shroud it's self. It's stated that Barbarccia herself made the choice as she enjoyed the nostalgic smell of the wood. The furniture is usually dark in tone, and the house is kept in a state of almost perpetual darkness due to her keen sense of sight. Littered through the manor are interesting, and very valuable trinkets, some that any thief would prize. The mansion is maintained by a staff of five. Bonnmonte the Elezen Chef, Sune the Elezen Advisor, Loiouix the Hyur Grounds Keeper, Xi'Izu the Miqo'te Maid, and Nana the Lalafellin Retainer.

The mansion has since been renovated, the basement has been extended deep into the root of the mountain and many chambers chiseled for nefarious uses. The basement houses many secrets, protected by rather unique security systems, surveyed by guards, and roamed by personnel from time to time. It is said there exist an engineering laboratory deep within, along with a massive unused antechamber. What possible use this could have is anyone's guess. Barbarccia herself is known for disappearing for days at a time into these halls so it is assumed that there are accommodations some way down within the facility.

Barbarccia is currently seeing Rhoe Molkot, and the two have been together for quite some time. Barbarccia tends to be a very career centered woman and tends to have many weaknesses in expressing her needs and desires. Those whom she has dated in the past have had a difficult time coping with the woman's exceptionally bizarre sense of romance. She has been deemed by some to be inconsolable, and to be almost next to impossible to please. She seems to be a polygamist at heart, or she seems to enjoy to be surrounded by people who like her, the only thing that is certain is that the girl has rather terrible commitment issues.

Barbarccia upon inspection does not appear to have much of a preference towards either gender. She doesn't really seek the company of people, and is far from interested in romance. She has been in relationships with both genders, but the only people she has had any romantic interest have been those of her own gender. She is not certain if this is because she's attracted to the female form or if she merely enjoys the qualities in personality found in her own gender. The one thing she does know for certain, is that she's interested in people that excite her search for knowledge, and those who prove to be very capable, strong leaders.

When it comes to manners of sex, Barbarccia herself has experienced most combinations of what Eorzea has had to offer. From Lalafell, Roegadyn, Hyur, Miqo'te, and Elezen, she has lit the flames of passion with partners here and there since her time leaving her cloistered life. The experiences have left her quite jaded with the act as she still doesn't feel as if she's found exactly what she's looking for in a person. As of late she's mostly lost interest in the act all together in favor of seeking other means to amuse herself. She from time to time will indulge in the challenge of an interesting pursuit, but it seldom, if ever is because of any romantic feelings. It has been noted that those she had laid with had not left displeased.

Religion/Philosophy : She was raised from a young age to be very spiritual... ultimately it may have been this outside influence that drew her away from losing herself to faith. Once she became more independant she adopted the common god of Ul'dah. Nald'thal. She can be seen leaving tributes and asking her diety for better fortune as she believes herself to be a rather unlucky person. She does not carry her piety on her shoulder, but her faith can be seen as supersticious at best.

She is a girl with a strong sense of justice and a firm, almost entirely black and white morality. Her friends are people she can trust, her enemies are people she can not. She believes that through mutual respect and understanding, everyone would be able to co-exist peacefully. She has very little tolerance for things she views as weak or wrong, and tends to be very vocal about it.

Height: 5 fulms, 8 ilms - Barbarccia isn't particularly tall for a Highlander. She's always been rather small among her peers, but recently that has come around. She has recently come to appreciate not having to look up at people and has even become more confident as a result. She tends to enjoy looking down on people, especially those people she can physically intimidate.

Weight: 128 ponz - She's never been very muscular, nor very built. She has a very curvy form, and besides her natural shapely and built from, she makes no real effort to build her frame. Her chest, and rear are fairly ample in size, and despite her small height, she manages to be a little on the heavier side, even if she works feverishly to watch her side.

Body: The first thing one would notice is that she's most definitely built like a woman. She's quite young, and the youthfulness of her form is readily visible. She has some natural definition to her frame, mostly built due to her day to day travels and her constant need to work. Her curves are quite bold, bosoms being quite readily prevalent even if one is not even looking to stare at them. Her waist line is quite fit, and her legs are long with a fair bit of form to them, the perfect accent to her rear. Despite her use of typically heavy clothing, her form is almost impossible to hide.

Complexion: Her skin is a rich mocha, kissed by the sun. She does not appear to have any blemishes to her form from top to bottom, nor a single scar to be seen. The skin doesn't have any signs of aging and in fact is quite youthful along every area that it counts. She used to have a birth mark beneath her left eye, but that since has disappeared for one reason or another.

Face: Barbarccia has a sharp angular chin, her cheeks a little puffed due to her lifestyle. It has a softness to her features, something not often seen on others among her race. Her eyes have a brilliant sheen to them glowing brightly almost as if they could pierce the darkness it's self. She has a natural darkening around her eyes, although it's most probably to blame on her terrible sleeping habits. Lips are rich and bold with a natural red tint to them, black lines line across her cheeks, a symbol of her past and the important people in it.

Hair: Her pride and joy. She loves to tend to her appearance and her hair is a big part of this. She has a taste for flair and extravagance making sure that there is always a sheen to it. Her natural hair color is a rich dusky brown, but as of late she has taken to religiously dying her hair a bright blonde so that she can stand out. She's particular to having long hair, but seems to change to something shorter every so often or when trying to look more important. At it's fully length, she likes tying it into twin tails, or simply letting it flow depending on her attire. She has been noted to having the habit of changing her style quite frequently.

Fashion: Barbarccia has a huge taste for the finer things in life. She loves flair, extravagance, and really exuding her status to make sure to turn heads in any room. She is known to wear large regal robes of bright reflective colors, or to wear fancy lavish attires to informal gatherings. Even in private she tends to wear clothing that are a bit more on the extravagant side that often lead others to feel as if they are under dressed. Due to her rather poor vision, she is almost always seen wearing some manner of eye wear to compensate for this weakness although even there she makes an effort to stand out.
