General

Eorla (or Orly, if you ask her cousin Renata) is a newcomer to Gridania, having chosen to follow in her cousin's footsteps and become an adventurer. She was torn between studying the black or white arts but, driven by a strong desire to help anyone she meets, has chosen the path of the conjurer. She still has no idea what job she wants to undertake though. Soft-spoken, she is shy at first but opens up once you get to know her. She approaches every aspect of her life with passion and zeal, standing up for those who cannot, and helping anyone she comes across.

She was born in Abrellyn, a seaside village in the Kingdom of Nerem, the only child of a fisherman and his diamond miner wife. Her mother died a month shy of Eorla's 22nd birthday, her father following her into the afterlife just 2 short weeks later, the victim of a broken heart. When her cousin Renata arrived to spend Eorla's birthday with her, Eorla made up her mind that the would follow her cousin's path and journey to Eorzea. Though she deviated from the path of her summoner kin when she decided that she would train to become a healer.

Appearance

Eorla has jet black hair and light green eyes that reflect ambient light, giving them a soft glow. She is shorter than most Highlanders. For one who grew up by the sea, her skin is paler than most as well, with only very light freckles here and there. Her features are small and delicate, and at first glance, she seems like she might be the type of person who doesn't belong in the fight against the threats to Eorzea's freedom, but a closer look says otherwise.

Personality

Eorla is shy, and takes great pains to ensure that she doesn't inadvertently offend anyone. While she does not consider herself to be beautiful, she knows she isn't 'ugly'...she's more concerned with being liked for her personality anyways. Even though that is her main concern, she is always true to herself. She speaks her mind, even if her voice falters a little because she feels particularly bashful. Her voice gets a little more confident if she's speaking up for someone who has been unjustly wronged.

She's eager to learn about her new homeland, and though she misses her birthplace by the sea, she is looking forward to settling into Eorzean life, and joining the line of healers keeping the defenders of Eorzea in fighting shape.

On Eorla's first day in Eorzea, she accidentally sat on the lap of an Elezen in the Carline Canopy. He was NOT happy and didn't hide it either. She now tries to make sure she stands away from everyone, but sometimes people still just pop up out of nowhere right beside her.
