Short Bio

R’phael is a former Garlean soldier who purportedly defected shortly following the events at Carteneau. He now operates as a rogue spy within Eorzea. While R’phael might consider himself a patriot, his allegiance, however, is not to the emperor. R’phael supports the people of Garlemald, and may be counted among the ranks of an insurgent faction that is slowly rising within the Empire.

Among certain Rogues with which R’phael associates, it is known that he was an Imperial spy. To others, he can be forthcoming about the fact that he is both Garlean and Doman in origin. He admits to this truth as a means to “hide in plain sight.” If he is to maintain the trust of his new associates, it is better that they know the truth of his origins. Were he to keep this hidden, and the truth be revealed later, such trust may be harder to repair, at beat. At worst, it would mean his life meeting the pointy end of a stabber.

In some respects, R’phael is an idealist. He hopes for a day when there will be peace between Garlemald and its neighbors.

Notable Deficiencies

• Aetheric Instability - So far, this seems to be a problem that affects teleportation and ninjutsu. R'phael is prone to random "misfires." In the case of teleportation, he may arrive at an aetheryte other than his intended destination. For example, he may aim for Ul'dah, but end up in Mor Dohna. In the case of his ninjutsu, certain actions may fail to correctly execute.

Additional Backstory

R’phael Miltiades is the illegitimate son of a Garlean soldier and Doman ninja. He spent his younger years with his mother, where he was raised in the way of the shinobi. Upon adolescence, he left the Village to follow his father. R’phael soon after enlisted in the Garlean military.

After the events at Carteneau, R’phael ended up in Limsa as a mercenary. His particular fighting style was noticed by the Rogues. He was eventually allowed into their guild.
