Aghurlal Qar-aKimusun is an Au Ra fisherman who presently resides in Limsa Lominsa.

Description

Notably shorter than your average male Au Ra, this Xaela has a vivacious mannerism to make up for it. His short curly hair seems constantly wind-swept, the texture giving away his seaside place of residence. His horns are broad and undamaged - a modified linkpearl hangs from his right.

He usually wears simple, covering clothing. He's often in possession of a fisherman's harpoon and a number of filleting knives. On the rare chance he leaves the city on adventuring business, he has a set of scale armour which he dons, and a significantly larger lance.

He can often be found around Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea. When abroad, his countenance is significantly less confident - the term "fish out of water" springs to mind.

Roleplay Hooks

• he's an Au Ra in Eorzea, so he sticks out in a crowd a little;
• his dayjob is procuring speciality fish for the Fishermen's Guild of Limsa Lominsa;
• if your character has reason to be under investigation by the Rogues' Guild of Limsa Lominsa, then Aghurlal might be sent undercover as a bodyguard to "work for" (monitor and report on the behaviour of) your character;
• immediately after arriving from Othard, he used to work as a freelance adventurer in the employ of the Immortal Flames, but quit before he moved to Limsa Lominsa several moons ago;
• IFF your character works for the Rogues' Guild of Limsa Lominsa, they may know that Aghurlal also does so;
• IFF your character is a Scion of the Seventh Dawn, they may know that Aghurlal has been on the Scions' list of potential recruits for several moons.

These are rumours that your character might be able to learn about Aghurlal, either from chance overhearings or from purposefully asking around about him.

1. He works at the Fishermans' Guild in Limsa Lominsa.
2. He speaks the languages of Eorzea without an accent.
3. He is shorter than the huge majority of male Au Ra.
4. He has a generally vivacious manner, and likes to keep himself occupied.
5. He arrived in Limsa Lominsa a few moons after the first Au Ra began arriving.
6. He prefers fishing with a spear; however, he knows how to use a rod as well.
7. He has frequent fainting spells.
8. He owns a chocobo, who he calls Blacktalon. He rides him at least once a day.
9. He sometimes sleeps in a tent in Middle La Noscea, and sometimes rents an inn room in the Mizzenmast.
10. He is capable of cooking his own meals.
11. He likes to wear simple golden-coloured jewellery, often of little expense.
12. He doesn't seem to know that much about other Au Ra societies, indicating that his tribe was probably very isolated.
13. He prefers eating meat or fish over eating vegetables.
14. He considers himself Lominsian, despite still being an adventurer in legal terms.
15. He occasionally takes on work as a bodyguard, although he vastly prefers jobs which last for a week or less.
16. When staying in an inn room, he keeps the fireplace extinguished, even on cold nights.
17. He owns a linkpearl; it appears to have been modified since it was issued.
18. He has visited Ul'dah and the surrounding Thanalan desert a number of times, but never stays there for long.
19. Despite his insistence he is from a tribe named Qar-aKimusun, none have heard of that name; not even other Xaela.
20. He can't read Eorzean script fluently. He does, however, know his alphabet and a few important phrases.
21. He is often seen in the company of two women - one Hyur, one Roegadyn - who seem to be his retainers.
22. He enjoys trying new food, if only so he can say he's had the experience of doing so.
23. He actively dislikes being intoxicated, and will refuse alcohol if offered it.
24. He has an interest in makeup, and sometimes entertains the idea of wearing brighter colours than black for his eyeliner.
25. He dislikes being ordered around, and will often refuse out of sheer spite unless he specifically asked the individual to give him a job to do.
