Likes

• Food and drink. He is a foodie and has a strong interest in local herbs and ingredients, influenced by his upbringing in the Shroud and taking only what is necessary and available
• Competition. Mild mannered at heart, he can get fiery when challenged. Likes to win, but thirsts for the game more than the victory.
• Chocobos. He owns one named Sandal, and loves him very much. They often go on rides together to get away from whatever's on his mind, should he need it. In the past he had a strong interest in chocobo racing, but has been mostly absent in the sport since he took his leave from Ul'dah.

Dislikes

• Confinement. While not necessarily claustrophobic, Alderique does not enjoy being kept against his will or limited. He needs to be able to leave at any time at his own choice. There are exceptions to this, of course.
• Cold. He is most comfortable withe mild climate of the Twelveswood or warmer. He can tolerate the heat of Thanalan just fine, and loves the sunny warmth of La Noscea. Ishgard and northern lands, while scenic, give him the feel of death, and he wonders how others tolerate it as much as much as they do. He tends to overdress when going to colder climes.
