Ambroisaux Labellaunt is a seemingly young Ishgardian-Elezen man currently residing in a second estate in Gridania. From a long line of noblemen, his family was known for travelling in and out of Ishgard every other generation to collect and return with rare tomes and artifacts.

Though never declared and pursued, his family was unpopular with the clergy for both "suspicious" activity and lack of solid contribution to the war efforts during the Dragonsong war.

However, the truth behind the man is far more complicated, starting with the unlocking of his Echo and a visit from a mysterious figure in dark robes over a thousand years ago.

Lord Labellaunt is a rather attractive and young looking Elezen man. His skin is a darker, tawny color to contrast his light blonde hair, the latter usually tied up and out of the way.

His narrow eyes are a pale rose gold that stand out, almost suggesting that something about this man is different.

Though magically gifted, Ambroisaux is not an athlete. He is slim and moderately strong, but should it come to hand-to-hand combat he would be at a disadvantage.

Biography

Ambroisaux Labellaunt was born before the Dragonsong War to a well-off family. Little is known about his early years, for obvious reasons, but a particular event stands out. Always curious and facinated by magicks, Ambroisaux unlocked a strange ability called the Echo in his earlier years. Through it he was able to learn how to sense and see using aether rather than sight.

Such a skill did not come without costs, as he eventually learned the slow path to death using it led him towards. He was conflicted: why was he given a gift so powerful if his time to study and understand it's potential was cut shorter and shorter? The answers came forward in the form of a mysterious dark robed figure that would lead him to learn the art of hopping body to body when death caught up with his physical form.

This figure sought to control and use him, but even if led astray his goals remained clear to him; his time -- now significantly lengthened to potential immortality -- would be used to study and learn.

Following his own will and interpretation of his purpose, Ambroisaux would solve the problem of other discovering his secret by entering and leaving Ishgard each "generation". He would marry at times to keep up the image, though rumors of him being some vampiric creature of the night became common in less educated circles.

Now, he is far more astray from his initial morals and codes. He is far more willing to experiment at the cost of other's lives if he believes the ends justify the means. He studies forbidden magicks and voidsent, as well as buying slaves for the occasional experiment.

If one needs a villainous character in their story -- be it to pursue or learn from -- Ambroisaux is there to add some interest.
