Clothing: Varies(Confirmed to be on an assassination job if wandering around in a white robe and visored turban, concealing a number of weapons in his sleeves and various other places).

Other: Wears a pair what appears to be poorly crafted earrings on his left ear. When inquired as to why, he claims he does not know, yet refuses to allow them to be tampered with in any way. Keeps his Eternity Ring either on his finger or somewhere on his person at all times. Either other notable traits hidden from those he does not yet trust, or is not yet aware that they are worthy of mention.

-Little to nothing is known about Dante Abigor aside from his apparent habit of randomly wandering about & his seemingly endless thirst to aquire gil that he seems to never use, for a purpose that he has never clearly defined beyond "She told me to get lots of coin".

-Was "convinced" to join the Maelstrom after a run in with the proper authorities saw need of his abilities, willing or no.

-Appears to have adopted a young girl. Keeping her fed and cared for in Limsa Lominsa.

-Was confirmed by Maelstrom authorities that he is indeed the assassin known as Shortblade.

-Disappeared after suspected connection to Garlean sabotage, believed to have been seen last at Carteneu Flats.

-Daughter confirmed to have survived the devastation of Bahamut, but disappeared soon after.

Personality

Pre ARR: Completely unaware of the oddity of his actions most of the time, his random & curious nature are so extreme that they even lead him to self harm, resulting in the maternal instincts of even the most stubborn & irritated individual to activate against their will. This personal flaw acts doubly as a veil, as Dante is known to display astounding amounts of knowledge & intelligence, though sadly usually only while busying himself with work. There have been rare rumors that his personality is a farce, and that he is indeed only pretending to act the way he does as a ruse, but his supposed naivety usually burns such rumors into the winds. Post ARR: Dante's return from the crystal was not a happy one, either forgotten or hated by everyone he knew, he has become far more bitter towards everyone he meets, viewing their relationship as a time clock that would eventually break away & leave him alone forever. He has attained a massive amount of knowledge from his time reading through libraries, talking to others, & conducting both large & small scale experiments, but due to the constant trauma on his mind, he has trouble actually utilizing it beyond fragmented snippets. Having decided that he still wants to learn, he will often still ask interesting individuals many questions. Due to his anger from constant rejection, he shares his actual opinion far more often, but will still respect others view of the world, provided they do the same for him. His naive antics still earn him the worry of many a stranger against their better judgement. He has also become far more sadistic in his loneliness, finding that extending another's pain is an entertaining way to both teach lessons and kill time.

Current behaviour: He has become much more brutal after the removal of the seal that was ailing him, his mannerisms becoming slowly but steadily more beastial in nature in one way or another. More often than not however his mannerisms and words are seemingly chosen at random, often to the befuddlement of those unfortunate enough to be caught on the wrong end of his whimsy.

Post Eternal Bond Ceremony: He has taken to attempting to find more peaceful solutions and nonviolent endings to how he approaches anything, having less to do with his views on life changing and more to do with his desire to not cause trouble for his wife and children. This has started to slowly change him into someone who can switch from being nearly pacifist to being somewhat demonic in the blink of an eye. All of his ruthlessness and bitterness is retained, thinly veiled behind his increasing desire to keep his family safe and happy. Sadly, the lack of battle is also beginning to wear on him, his previous way of life so ingrained into him that he becomes stressed if he does not fight or kill for too long. He is currently trying to find a solution to this dilemma.

Fears: Only known fears are losing those he cares for and his apparent fear of showing his eyes.

Talents: Unknown. Dante has only ever mentioned singing by himself as a talent, to which most believe he is being sarcastic(He isnt).

Likes: Aquiring new tools and money. Research and studying anything that catches interest, especially individuals. Wandering. Working. Staring at campfires after night falls. Watching airships.

Dislikes: Lies without a purpose. Being told he has worked too much & being forced to rest. Being useless. Being interrupted while reading. Above all else Dante despises having others opinions of his actions imposed upon him without request. In his experiences, he has come to the conclusion that the world & he were not meant to mix peacefully, & will lash out at anyone that would attempt to restrict his freedoms without his consent.

Maelstrom: After reenlisting into the Maelstrom, Dante has risen through the ranks and attained the rank of officer. He has taken to using his rank to his advantage, but hardly ever mentions it without a reason.

Ein Sof: Dante has begun to drop the name -Roots- as his source of income whenever he does a job, or in general.

Aeka: A wild(?) female chocobo with purple feathers and obviously blood stained feathers, adorned with greaves on its talons and a dapper suit on its torso. Conspicuously eating meat in most cases, it is implied to be highly dangerous, and the dust clouds it leaves behind imply an unholy amount of speed behind the legs.

Monchy: A gobbue that is somewhat peaceful, keeping to the Twelveswood for the most part.

Strengths: -Proven to be very proficient with almost all manner of blades, using both throwing knives & swords with no issue.(It is hinted that his swordplay is actually his strongpoint, but for reasons unknown he is hesitant to use his skills without reason.)

-Is also apparently a very gifted weaver & blacksmith, having made the majority of his attire himself, even specially crafting his gear to have extra bits and bobs.

-Is quite manipulative after studying people for a long time. Using his unintentionally mysterious demeanor to his advantage, he is capable of getting others to do things for him instead of doing it himself.

-Is surprisingly stealthy when he chooses to be, which is not very often.

-Is capable of healing from most injuries within days or weeks despite common understanding. It is implied the reason has something to do with his aether, but there is no evidence to support the theory currently.

-Has Mastered the Howling Fist technique, using it in various ways for somewhat surprising effects. Mostly running away and dodging.

-Is capable of learning and adapting to changing situations and fighting styles quickly, remaining flexible during most combat situations.

-WILL use his teeth should the opportunity or need arise.

Fighting Style: -He fights as a beast would, tearing into his enemy with speed and tenacity without allowing them to rest, rushing and overwhelming most opponents before they realize what is happening. This reckless form of fighting is shared by another, far less rushed fighting style when he does not intend to kill, aiming only for parts that cause the most pain or bleeding to encourage his opponent to flee or abandon hope of attacking him.

Weapons:-To enhance his ability to fight armed foes, he crafted a special set of gauntlets & greaves. Hardest steel only in specific areas where he would block, he constructed the gauntlets with metallic wires running throughout the palm and armguard, slicing through most things with ease. The wires double as a tension trigger, which extend four claw like hook blades from beneath a plate on the backside of the hand, with poison cartridges lined into hollow points in the tips, ready to unleash if a hard enough strike could shatter the vials holding them. While the greaves are far less intricate, they house a number of jagged edges along the protective plates the would easily rip & tear flesh, similarly boasting light weight & housing one concealed dagger in each at the tip that are activated by impact.

-Crafts Swords with many different applications or intended uses, all with sharp edges and most with astounding weight.

-was issued seven hand cannons upon request, but hardly ever makes use of them anymore.

-carries a number of knives as well as spare metallic wire on his person at all times, often keeping it somewhere easy for him to reach in a pinch.

Flaws:-Dante's largest glaring weakness happens to also be his greatest strength. While Dante was born with a natural talent for black magics his control over it is nearly nonexistent. While he can channel a simple spell or two, continued use of magic will cause the potency to intensify, the concentration required for such leaving him wide open. Further, continued use will begin to tear him apart due to his affinity, and the spell placed to seal his aether drawing will force him to lose control of his body completely when the defense system of the seal activates.

-While he has excellent aim, he is a lost cause with a bow & arrow, being simply unable to apply himself properly to the practice.

-Is terrible using shields, as he finds it annoying.

-Is terrible at realizing when he has hurt someone's feelings.

-He has a slight reckless streak to him, ignoring injuries & even allowing some in order to be entertained in battle.

-His emotional state directly affects his ability to channel magic. The more emotional he becomes, the more he channels magic subconsciously. If an emotion is pushed past a point he can suppress, he will lose control of himself to the seal on his crystal.

-Can only use healing magicks on himself. Any attempt to do so on others will cause an explosion. Due to this, he remains stubborn and refuses to heal himself. This remains such until he loses control of himself.

.His true name did indeed come from his mother, whom inhabits the seal inside of the cracked crystal in his forehead, which is INDEED a catalyst he was born with, but can no longer use.

.The earrings pierced into is left ear are the engagement earrings he presented to his first fiancée in the early years of his life.

.He shares the surname with his mother and biological sister because it is more of an honorary title for his family rather than his name itself. It is more or less the rank his family held.

.As his mother earned the family title rather than being born into it, she does not share the typical naming conventions any longer that her offspring do(Due to obviously being born after).

.Is not from Hydaelyn at all, but rather a reflection of it from beyond the rift.

.Has lost his memory no less than 3 times.

.Earned his name "Dante" after a misunderstanding after the events of Thronefall, leading his savior to believe that was what he intended to call himself.

.Prior to being told his real name, he has only ever heard it once.

.Has a weakness for tails, as he does not have one and finds them fascinating.

Part 1: The Basics 1.What is your full name? Eligor Abigor

2.Where and when were you born? A massive floating multi sectioned castle-city

3.Who are/were your parents? Father: Still secret Mother: Edilta Abigor, the Abigor(think chief or queen) of Eligor's progenitor people.

4.Do you have any siblings? Sister: Alinor Abigor, Eligor's older sister and current Abigor. Also somewhat psychotic.

5.Where do you live now, and with whom? In the Mists, with his three daughters.

6.What is your occupation? Varied, but best known for work as an assassin and armor maker. Somewhat known as an inventor of sorts(or rather figuring out how old technology works and using it to his advantage).

7.Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks. Short, lightweight lalafell with Red hair. He keeps his eyes hidden at all times, dresses himself according to whatever he feels or is doing, has two red brands on his cheeks that look like tattoos(but are actually manifistations of his actual appearance suppressed), and a cracked crystal in his forehead. He also has naturally sharper than normal teeth. That is not to say he has nightmare fuel teeth, only that all of them end at one point or another(Imagine your teeth now, only pointy at the end. 8.To which social class do you belong? Is rather well paid, but prefers to only live as such when it suits his goals, instead putting his money into work, friends, and his daughters especially, as well as much of his personal research and "inventions".

9.Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? While dulled, the crystal in his forehead is capable of causing him great pain if struck in one way or another. Large amounts of aether also have the side effect of making him ill, inexplicably appearing as cuts and bleeding.

11. What does your voice sound like? Either sweetly feminine or criminally insane depending on how you catch him.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? Any sentence that ends in a question mark really. He is overly inquisitive.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? He is wildly unpredictable at times, earning the suspicion of those around him more often than not. His capacity for ignoring morals and abhorrent actions tend to bother others as well.

16. What is your earliest memory? Getting screamed at by people for things he did not understand.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family? He got along wonderfully with his sister until the end of Thronefall. He never will meet his father as he died immediately after his birth, and his relationship with his mother is....was....hostile, at best.

He was born to a clan of mages, but he still has yet to find out this fact, as he lostis memory. Other than his hereditary traits, he is more or less normal.

30. Who has had the most influence on you? His teacher, whom even after losing his memory has persisted in his mind, her teachings burned into his mind and body like melting metal on ice.

31. What do you consider your greatest achievement? Managing to stay alive in his day to day.

32. What is your greatest regret? Not being able to save the family that showed him kindness when he first crashed upon Eorzea, instead being an instrument of their doom.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done? Technically speaking, genocide of almost the entirety of his clan, including but not limited to both of his parents.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind? It would be safe to assume that's a yes.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened? When he was a child.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why? He would always want to save all those he was too weak to protect.

38. What is your best memory? Umm.....get back to you on that. Sounds like something a dying person would answer honestly.

39. What is your worst memory? A memory so horrid he repressed the entire event.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic? Somewhere inbetween, but probably more optimistic than he lets on.

41. What is your greatest fear? Himself, unknown to others.

43. What are your political views? He finds them necessary but absolutely loathes them, as it runs completely contradictory to his previous teachings of righteousness through overwhelming force and power.

44. What are your views on sex? His views on this are rather shaky. He does not have anything against it at all, he even studied it carefully. But to speak of, he is oblivious to the notion of sex in general. As he has little(remembered) sexual experience, he does not even fully understand when he is aroused, usually thinking it is something akin to anger or hunger.

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable? He is, and there is no circumstance where he finds it unacceptable, only extremely disagreeable. Due to his philosophies, he views death with a cold indifference unless he is directly emotionally involved, and even then he would not call it wrong.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do? For him, it would be lying without a true purpose. He hates how covered in lies the world is, again due to his views.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? This concept is lost on him.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life? Power, unbending and unyielding.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? This varies greatly on whom he would be interacting with, and what he is trying to accomplish at the time. If he is serious however, he keeps people at arms length, but will not lie on his views if asked directly without good reason.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices? He is biased towards those he cares about, wanting them to be pleased as much as possible.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? He would never lie without a reason, the same with killing. That is not to say the reasons have to be grand or even excusable, but they have to exist as a minimum.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? Those he cares for, or believes he is responsible for.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how? Varied. If you get to know him then how he treats you personally will become more consistent, but you could fall anywhere on the spectrum truly.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why? Ruruni Runi. He fell in love with her, but even after sabotaging his relationship with her to keep her at arms length, he has placed her on a pedestal of sorts, wanting her desires to come true while making her believe that he doesn't care one way or the other, his frustration slowly mounting and becoming more apparent as he interacts with her.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why? His teacher, she is literally the strongest person or occurrence he believes he has ever seen, a perfect living example of the goal he needs to reach before he can change the world as he pleases.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? He has a lot of friends worthy of mention, but whether or not they actually view him as a friend in return is the true question.

58. Have you ever been in love? Yes. One died, the other he pushed away.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover? Qualities he does not or will not see in himself, as well as honesty. Looks help too.

60. How close are you to your family? Uh.....he is very close to his adopted family, absolutely not so with his biological family.

61. Have you started your own family? Yes. He unintentionally adopted a highlander girl by the name of Pheria. She then took it upon herself to adopt two more daughters for him, an Elezen named Bonslette and a Miqo'te named P'lami.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why? Truly, he does not, but he does employ bodyguards. Most notable among them is Banryu Minamoto.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you? His daughters. Pheria searched for him for years after he disappeared, refusing to believe he perished with no trace or carnage in his wake.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why? Himself for his spells where he loses control of himself, waking later to the disorienting destruction and rejection of those who were subjected to it.

(If so, detail both sets of reasons…) He is not an adventurer as he believes they are mostly fools, but he hardly ever has given reason for the things he does beyond he was told to.

95. If you could choose, how would you want to die? Topped in battle by one who could kill him after reaching the absolute limit of his potential, if he could ever find it. If not, then he would prefer to die alone, forgotten.
