Basic Info
While cool and collected on the outside, and while chivalrous and kind, you will never meet a fiercer warrior than Dartanon. Making a name for himself as the Black Blade of Eorza, the Miqo'te knight traveled the land in search of purpose and closure through combat. Putting his martial training to the test, he fought as a mercenary, driving off bandits and Garleans alike when necessary. His heart was pure, though, never allowing him to take from the people he served. A warm meal and a place to rest his head for the night was all he ever required. However, his heart was still touched by grief and darkness, manifesting itself as a black fire in his soul. Black Magic was something he despised, yet when he found himself calling upon it in his time of need, he became...tempted. Power was something he never thought he'd strive for. Secretly he yearned for more. Hopefully, the valiant knight would not fall to the seduction of darkness.
History
Dartanon Nobis was a Knight for a noble house of Eorza. He served dutifully for many years before the Calamity struck, destroying the land and the Lords he served. With no master to serve, Dartanon devoted his blade and title to the land of Eorza, no longer a Knight of a Lord, but a Knight of Eorza itself. He trained in several martial practices, including use of a two handed longsword, a lance, and his bare hands. For five years he served as a Mercenary Knight, devoting his sword and lance to driving off corruption from the land. Along the road, he made many companions. Chief among them were a young mage named Jethas Zykyri, and a mysterious young woman named Sophia Graves. Despite his oddities and tendency to succumb to his wanderlust, they are usually reliable enough to watch his back...even when he doesn't know he needs them to.
Personality
Dartanon is cool and calm. His demeanor is gentle and intelligent, making him capable of soothing words, or sharp rebukes. His age brings with him a certain wisdom to life and logic, even if his social skills are lacking in most departments. His chief goal is to protect the ones he cares about. He will even go so far as to sustain injury for a companion, although his tactical mind usually finds a way to get them both out relatively unscathed. Whether it be with his wit or his blade, dueling Dartanon is always a learning experience.

Other Notes
- Dartanon is often too trusting. If he sees good in you, he will stay his blade, even to his own detriment.
- Despite being a seasoned Knight and warrior, Dartanon has a rather poor defense. His tactics rely heavily on offense, making a skilled fighter that is good at countering his biggest weakness.
- Due to the darkness that resides in his soul, Dartanon can sometimes become stubborn or aggressive if pushed.
- His greatest distaste is for those that seek to change others to their own view of right. He believes no one has the right to judge and change another being, especially if they don't want to change.
