Eva Ianeira is a soft-spoken, duskwight elezen beauty with a warm smile, bosomy figure, and motherly disposition. She finds delight in her friendships and in most of the simplicities in life. Kes: Her born name known only to a very select few who were directly involved with her past. When questioned, she often chalks this up as a nickname, or occasionally an old name that she no longer uses. Variations of this nickname exist (Kessy, Kessyface) and are often used by her father.

Evy: She has been called this by at least one individual.

Appearance

Height: 5 fulms, 8 ilms - for an elezen she is extremely short-statured, often finding herself at eye-level with many hyur men, and even some women.

Weight: 167 ponz - though she will never admit this. She once weighed more than double this.

Body: By and far, her most prominent figure is her extremely ample bosom, though she often goes to great lengths to try (often in vain) to conceal this. Her body is soft and curvaceous; broad hips and a slender waistline give her a beautiful hourglass figure. Her arms and legs are moderately toned, though she lacks any significant muscle mass.

Complexion: Eva's skin is milky white, smooth and soft, and very meticulously looked after. While in her early thirties, most might guess her age to be in the mid-twenties instead. With the exception of the tattoo on her face (see below) and two piercings at the base of each ear, her skin is entirely unmarred and unblemished.

Face: A pair of large, round amethysts examine nearly everything with childlike curiosity and smile in compliment with her lips, which are soft and full and most often are painted some shade of red. Her nose is gently rounded and of normal size and shape. Her face is framed by her long, straight hair and a smooth, feminine jawline. Probably the most striking feature on Eva's face is a blue tattoo in the shape of a gnarled tree branch which begins on the left side of her forehead, goes down at an angle over her eyelid, and tapers off in several directions on her left cheek.

Hair: Yellow-blonde hair sweeps back from her brow and cascades down the entirety of her back, ending a bit below her waistline. Often when working or fighting she will tie it back in a ponytail to keep it out of her face, but she prefers to leave it be for the most part. It is soft, clean, and cared for fastidiously.

Fashion: Having spent most of her adult life overweight, Eva is extremely self-conscious about her appearance, even though she is today considered by most to be stunningly beautiful. As a result she generally prefers robes, cloaks, shawls, and heavier garments that help conceal her overly buxom figure. She has had alterations made to armor in order to accomodate her oversized chest, and has found herself at times going as far as wrapping binding cloth around her torso before suiting up in armor. As a weaver by trade she is moderately aware of fashion trends and tries to meld her own conservative style with that what is popular in search of a happy middle ground.

Eva will wear more revealing garments when she knows she is alone (such as around her home). She has also been coaxed out of her proverbial 'shell' by friends and has been seen wearing low-cut gowns for events such as masquerade balls and galas, and even the occasional casual social gathering as well. Recently becoming aware of the effect that wearing such clothing has - particularly on men - she has begun weaving more clothing designed to be low-cut, tight, or otherwise risque. She has not worked up the nerve to wear most of it herself, however.

Behavior

Voice: Soft and airy, her words normally flow clearly and gracefully in a slow, soothing tone.

Demeanor: Eva has been described by most as being motherly, putting others' concerns before her own and making sure that the people she cares about or is charged with looking after are kept safe and from harm. She is always kind to everyone until given a reason not to be. She adheres to the belief that "it's nice to be nice," and has spoken these words on multiple occasions. She has a way of understanding people and easily writes off the negative behavior of others as having nothing to do with her. She believes that everyone is fighting some kind of a battle and it's better to be a positive influence on their lives than a negative one. While considered wise and insightful, she is not one to distribute advice without first being solicited. She looks down upon people who are consistently mean, arrogant, vulgar, or self-deprecating, but does not readily make these feelings known. She does not feel she can change anyone, but more than anything she does genuinely want to help.

Personality: On the surface, Eva appears to have a simplistic and nurturing personality, if lacking a bit in confidence. She is a graceful conversationalist when the subject content is light and frivolous. She is inquisitive and introspective and emphasizes the importance of people and their thoughts, feelings, and memories over physical things and material possessions. In spite of this emphasis on people, she can be perceived as somewhat introverted and keeps a lot of her personal thoughts and opinions to herself - tending to be concerned that she might offend someone if she speaks her mind. In such situations, she often chooses her words very carefully and the delay sometimes associated with her thought process coupled with her naturally airy tone of voice may give the impression that she is not terribly bright, which is simply not true (see 'Intelligence' section below).

Quirks: Eva's most notable quirk is her inability to keep her fingers and hands still for any length of time. Often she knits to keep her hands moving, but in the absense of her knitting needles she can often be seen drumming her fingers absently against her thighs, hips, some surface, or otherwise fidgeting with something she's holding. She is also extremely fastidious about her grooming and appearance and perhaps even moreso the appearance of her living area. She is very much an obsessive-compulsive neat freak and her living space reflects this behavior.

Flaws: Lack of confidence seems to be Eva's greatest pitfall. For most endeavors she has proven to herself to have the willpower to see things through, however she often finds herself second-guessing her own strengths and whether she possesses the ability to overcome her challenges. She is sometimes slow to act, often overanalyzing various situations. Eva is also a pacifist, preferring non-violent solutions whenever possible, even when violence may be warranted. She will fight and kill various creatures and beastkin but is extremely reluctant to take up arms with the intent of drawing spoken blood (except for beastmen). She will standby while her companions do what they feel must be done in such instances, but she will not actively take part. This tendency may be superceded for the purposes of self-defense however. She also has a difficult time remembering names, and occasionally faces. She's good at picking out voices though.

Intelligence: While not outwardly intellectual by any means, Eva possesses a superior knowledge of mathematics and business, and a fondness for reading, writing, history, and geography. She used to keep the financial records for the book shop in Gridania where she worked for most of her adult life, and she would read constantly. She has little interest in scientific matters, however, feeling that it's more important to be able to understand people than it is to understand how things work. She downplays her level of intelligence intentionally because she feels that it can be construed as intimidating to others and she typically wants people to feel more comfortable and relaxed around her.

Family

• Father: (Dyterium Q. Zelorius) - Deceased (at approximately 60 years of age) - Dyterium was born in the clan-lands but moved with some of his family to the surface while he was still an infant. His childhood was cut short, becoming an orphan on his sixteenth nameday. He since went on to train with the Holy See of Ishgard for several years, ascending to the rank of Captain quickly and serving as one of their finest lancers. After Kes was born, he left both the Holy See for reasons unspoken, and departed Ishgard to live quietly with his family in Coerthas raising sheep and harvesting grain. Eventually he took Kes to Gridania when she was seven, and established a small eatery which gained success rapidly enough to catch the eye of the Brugaire Consortium. Spending several cycles working for the consortium earned him a reputation across all of Eorzea for having made some of the best sandwiches in the realm. Climbing the ranks of the Consortium, he uncovered corruption and made enemies. When people who were known to be working against him began dying, the Consortium raised charges against Dyterium. While no absolute proof was ever found, the damage to his reputation had already been done and he went on to live out his remaining days in a small hovel at the end of a cul-de-sac in Gridania. While still of keen reflex, his mind began to deteriorate and he would get confused easily, often mistaking people and places. He also suffered an accute form of light-sensitivity, and required special shaded spectacles in order to be able to see in normal lighting. He died in his sleep earlier this year and received a knight's burial within Ishgard's walls.

• Mother: (Dweia Meara-Zelorius) - Unknown (approximately 55 years of age) - Dweia was born and raised in Coerthas and found residence in Ishgard after her mother passed away. A cleric by trade, she possessed a gift for healing the sick and wounded. It is written that she met Dyterium when he returned back from duty wounded one day and was intrigued by his lack of regard for the Twelve. Their differences in religious beliefs were never entirely rectified, though they did find comfort in each others' company and were married within two cycles' time. Kes would come soon thereafter. When she was two years old, Dweia fled Coerthas with another man, taking Kes with her. In a furious rage, Dyterium enlisted the help of a friend of his from Limsa Lominsa to track them down. Kes was returned safely to her father's custody. It remains unclear to this day whether Dweia, her lover, or the both of them were slain in order to bring this about, but the possibility has been alluded to.

• Fiancé: (Pemenicaux Ianeira) - Deceased (would be four years older than Eva) - A wildwood elezen, and a writer by trade, Pemenicaux ('Pemmy') met Kes when she worked at the book shop. A fondness for reading, a common interest in poetry, and a shy disposition were shared by both Kes and Pemmy, so it was natural they had a lot to talk about, once they mutually worked up the nerve to do so. Once the ice finally was broken, they fell in love fast, spending most of the next six cycles together. Their romance was a pure and innocent one, underlined by the fact that neither family approved of the clan difference. Pemenicaux proposed marriage to Kes prior to going away to train for war - something which he had hoped would help garner her father's approval. Kes received word that Pemenicaux died in an accidental explosion before his tour of duty was up. It is at this point that she decided that "Kes is dead" and took on the name Eva Ianeira, taking his name even though they had never truly been married. Pemenicaux's body is buried in a cemetary just outside of Gridania.

• Son: (Mefripaux Zelorius) - Deceased/Stillborn - An agreement was made that if a son was born, he would be given the Zelorius name rather than 'Ianeira' so as to continue the family legacy - something which was important to Eva's father and grew to become important to Eva as well. Sadly, the child died a few moments after being born and the doctors explained that the trauma left Eva unable to conceive further children. Mefripaux is buried beside his father in an unmarked grave. Neither Eva's father nor Pemenicaux's parents knew of this.

• Sibling(s): Unknown - Eva may have half-brothers or half-sisters if Dweia was let go after the child was returned to her father. Dyterium fathered no children after Dweia's betrayal, honoring the vows of matrimony he took in spite of his wife's infidelity.

• Oskar Helvig - Leader of Everwatch and the man for whom she holds her affections, he is not her typical 'type', nor does she always see eye to eye with his methods or his behavior, but she loves him immensely in spite of their differences and finds herself drawn more to those softer traits he endeavors to keep hidden away. She struggles often with keeping their personal relationship separate from her duties to the company.
• Nel Celestine – A miqo’te whom she's known a long time and now considers her best friend. Due to Nel's admitted attraction to her, Eva sometimes keeps her at a bit of a distance so as not to hurt her feelings. She is unable to recipricate Nel's affections, but values her friendship immensely.
• Ariciont Von Croix - A wildwood elezen that Eva's always been afraid to get close to because he physically resembles her deceased fiancé, even though their demeanor is nothing alike.
• Azeiel Kamba - A hyur girl that Eva used to babysit when they were both much younger
• Claus Bell - A highlander that Eva met while working in the League. She secretly harbors a bit of a crush on him.
• Deirdre Ta'ea - A wildwood elezen woman who was responsible for her training in the Eorzean Guard, and later came to be a parter in training. Eva delivered her baby, Falke. After abandoning her duties to Everwatch and betraying Oskar, Eva lost most of her respect for the woman.
• Dyne Evans - Deceased - A misunderstood hyur whom Eva formed a secret attraction to. They often had long conversations and she felt very close to him, before he went in search of his lost sister and ultimately wound up dying tragically.
• Elriche Montreux - Deceased - A former love interest, Elriche still holds a certain place in Eva's heart even though things didn't work out between them. While not necessarily 'friends' after they broke apart, they continued to have an amicable working relationship.
• Hayden Olkendarr - One of Eva's first friends from Ul'dah, a hellsguard roegadyn whom Eva found a soft spot for. To her he is a symbol of innocence and she looks up to him in more ways than one.
• Isilme Turuphant - Regarded as a cousin, a miqo'te girl that Eva used to babysit when they were both much younger
• Kylin Mavanix - Previously 'Castiel', one of Eva's fellow Premiers from the Outer Heaven conglomerate. She remains in contact with him through Archavalon now, and has a quiet respect for him, generally regarding him fondly.
• Miyu Asuka - Once regarded as a kindred spirit whom grew up with similar abilities, Eva now keeps her at a distance after hearing rumors that she was responsible for Dyne's death.
• Rikitiki Tavatiki - Another of Eva's first friends from Ul'dah, she found his missing wand. Since that time, he has become the one that the counselor goes to when she needs counsel.
• Selene Artemis - A former Everwatch member whom Eva considers one of her closer friends.
• Seraphine Winter - Another of the Premiers from the Outer Heaven conglomerate, Eva admires the way Seraphine is able to possess a certain degree of wealth without being arrogant. While she doesn't envy her exactly, she does admires her degree of class, and has at times wished she could herself be more like Seraphine.
• Shien Sarvong - A confusing woman, Eva once held a lot of respect for her before her trust was shattered. In more recent moons their friendship has been renewed and grows gradually even in spite of past issues.
• Silvia Wenn - Deceased - A wildwood elezen woman that Eva regarded as a little sister. She remembers her fondly and thinks of her often.

General

• Style:

Eva's style of combat is typically fluid and graceful. While she lacks the strength to deliver powerful attacks, she possesses a great deal of agility, flexibility, and manual dexterity. Much of this stems from her knack for dance, and much of it comes from spending hours on end "practicing the forms" - something her father has tried to teach her about pikemanship. She has quickly become talented with the polearm, often likening its use to a form of dance. From her nursing training, she is also knowledgeable about where to strike most opponents in order to deliver the desired results - most often inhibiting movement or stunning her target rather than dealing grievous wounds or fatal blows.

• Specialization:

Having spent the most time training with various polearms (glaives, halberds, guisarmes, lances, tridents, and spears), she prefers these to any other weapon. Of these, she most prefers the heavier lances, as the additional weight helps offset her own lack of strength. She is also very skilled with curative and defensive aetherial magic and is nearly as comfortable conjuring aether from the sidelines in order to help her companions. She wishes she could learn to fight hand-to-hand, as she feels this would be useful in any instance where she may find herself disarmed and unable to channel aetherial energy.

• Strengths:

Eva's greatest strength is her poise and form. Possessing very strong legs and a dancer's agility, she's able to effectively evade or parry off an opponent's attacks. Though defensive by nature, her thrusts are deliberate and her swings precise. She very seldom misses her mark.

• Weaknesses:

Lack of physical strength is Eva's greatest weakness. She has taught herself ways of using strong opponents' own momentum against them and has employed creative means of using her environment or aetherial tricks to help compensate for this. In a true test of strength against most opponents, Eva would likely find herself at a disadvantage. Also a possible weakness is her general unwillingness to do violence to any of the five races of Eorzea.

Armor

Eva's armor is generally very practical. She prefers scale armor to any other, but will wear chainmail or even heavy leather armor. She often wears a tight-fitting garment beneath it to help compress her buxom figure. She is less self-conscious about her image while wearing armor because of this. She has also been known to wear plate armor, but feels that it is too heavy to be worn for long stretches of time, and avoids it for this reason and because it restricts her movement too much to be practical. She does own a couple suits of armor that were given to her as gifts, though these are more for show than for practical use and reveal more of her skin than she is comfortable with, particularly for the sake of physical defense.

Above all else, Eva's movements are graceful and fluid. She has been taught by her father, though most of what she's learned has come naturally through practice. She regards fighting as unfortunate but necessary and will not hesitate to lend a hand to her friends and companions, however she will also not do harm when it is not absolutely necessary, often looking for a more peaceful solution wherever possible.
