INTRO TEXT

Appearance

He started off looking like any other Elezen but after he was forced into the study of Aetheryte before the calamity his body started to change. No longer would his muscles grow past that of an average male. His hair slowly grew longer over the passing years. After experimenting with aether he would develop scars. His left eye would become a yellowish color. The scars on his face would soon change to the same yellowish color as his eye. He is typically found wearing his favorite red and black attire though recently he has taken to wearing metallic gloves and boots.

History

Garyen grew up in the Coerthas Highlands with the rest of the Ishgardian Elezen. His ability to manipulate aether came at a very early age which forced his family to give him over to the local magic academy. Garyen was only 14 years of age when the Calamity happened. Though he was still young Garyen could feel the power of the elder primal Bahamut as he broke free of his imprisonment causing Garyen to seek out refuge so he could survive what he knew was coming. Almost twenty years had passed before Garyen would embark on his journey into the world.

He first would stop at Limsa Lominsa to meet with the local Arcanists. He would spend a full year learning the various ways they would use to summon creatures to do their bidding. Next Garyen traveled to the newly rebuilt Gridania. It was hear Garyen fell in love for the first time in his life with a young miqo'te girl. He never left her side as they ventured through the woods. It wasn't until a "Nunh" from his lovers former tribe came calling that Garyen would finally learn what it was like to feel hatred and anger towards another race. He didn't understand the bound people would have in a tribe and he probably never will. His sense of loyalty to a single individual was far more important to him than the loyalty of a single person to a large group of people. His lover was basically given a choice. Either come back and take her rightful place in the tribe or fight the Nunh with the possibility of death so that she might go free. His lover being ever so stubborn decided to fight the male.
