Gracie Singer hails from the countryside outside Limsa Lominsa. Having always been a curious but socially disinclined child, she took up writing at an early age to be able to communicate more freely with others. She is extremely passionate, hot-headed yet polite and enjoys making new friends. Gracie can be seen regularly writing in the tavern in Gridania or hanging around the Wayfarer's Rest Tavern, where her cousin Lynne works, in the Goblet. Though she can be secretive about her past, most of her adventures have been chronicled in her myriad of novels with names changed "to protect the guilty."

Demeanor: Friendly, but cautious. Gracie is slow to draw the ire of and she prefers to talk out problems rather than resort to physical violence. She will, however, jump into a fight if someone she loves or is loyal to is under attack. You can safely approach her and be sure that you will probably leave with a new friend and not an enemy. Gracie's heart is large and she tries to take care of those around her, especially if they are ailing or unable to do so themselves.

Religion: Gracie has a patron deity whom she respects but rarely makes prayers or offerings to. She isn't really the religious sort.

Common Appearance: The first thing one might notice about Gracie is her radiantly red hair. She often times wears a cloak or large hats when she travels in public to obscure her identity. Because of her occupation and penchant for getting into serious trouble, she travels light and prefers keeping her face hidden. When around friends or feeling safe, she wears her wavy hair loose and down. Her skin is darkly tanned from the sun, and her eyes are so dark a color it’s nearly impossible to tell what color they are. When moving about cities, Gracie dresses simply and for comfort. Her favorite outfits are usually tank tops and pants. She favors a green beret and feels naked without it. Sometimes she deigns to wear her glasses when reading, as her eyesight is actually fairly poor. She has no notable scars to speak of, but she does have a few birthmarks: one under her lip, one on the back of her neck and one on her inner thigh. Though she claims to like jewelry she very rarely ever wears any. She claims she doesn’t have the gil to spend on it, but in truth she prefers wearing accessories only if they carry meaning. Gracie is never without her heart pendant necklace that was gifted to her from her brother. She calls it her heart.

Voice: She switches frequently between her Limsan accent and more refined, proper speech. When relaxed, she has a fairly good vocabulary and is very polite. When roused, irritated, overly-excited or drunk, she speaks like a pirate.

Clothing: She dresses simply and for comfort. If she can't move in it easily, she won't wear it. She is usually spotted wearing her favorite pair of leather boots and green beret. Sometimes she even wears her glasses when she isn't being too stubborn to wear them!

Strengths

Gracie has speed, flexibility and the ability to calculate quickly and on the fly while in combat making her a foe to be reckoned with. What she lacks in the physical strength department she makes up for with being light on her feet. She also has the mental fortitude to at least try to overcome her opponent regardless of how the fight is going. Gracie is also trained in the art of healing through aether manipulation. She knows how to summon carbuncles.

Despite having a toned body, Gracie just isn't very strong in comparison to others she may go up against. She is weak to strong physical attacks and magic. Though she is a gifted healer, after an unfortunate accent, she is adverse to using offensive types of magic.

Position: Former colleague, former courtesan and spy; This Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te has always had a place in Gracie's heart, though she has not been seen in quite some time.

Position: Thief, con-artist, former colleague; This half-midlander, half-highlander female used to be one of Gracie's mentors. Now she isn't quite so sure what she is to her anymore...

Position: This hardened and beautiful woman used to have claim over Gracie's heart in more ways than one.

Lucas Bailey (♥✖♥ ) - Brother
Position: Lucas was killed when he was eighteen years of age. He was Gracie's older brother. They had a very solid and loving relationship, as evidenced by the way Gracie talks about him and how she never takes 'her heart' off her neck if she can help it. Lucas had always dreamed about joining up with the Maelstrom and exploring all of Eorzea.

Deimos Mars ♥★✔ ) - Bodyguard

Position: Mars was hired by Gracie's cousin, Lynn, due to Gracie's penchant for almost getting herself murdered. They seem to care about each other a great deal, but he's impossible to get along with and gives Gracie headaches when they are together. Gracie is 99.9% sure he is no longer on the payroll due to the fact that he is constantly skipping work and ending up in other areas of Eorzea for weeks at a time. When they are together, he doesn't give her the space she needs and ends up frustrating her.

Lynnette Dracht (♥♥★ ) - Cousin

Position: Lynnette Dracht is Gracie's cousin and probably the only remaining family she has left in the world. They both share similar physical traits. Because Lynn is older, Gracie looks up to her as an older sister. In fact, most people assume they are sisters. They seem to be close and Lynn is overprotective, hence the bodyguard. Lynn's family is originally from Ishgard, but have been branded heretics. She is 2 months pregnant so far with Casmi Hawke's child. Sometimes Lynn teases and embarrasses Gracie, but they have a solid relationship.

Eranyl Suncloak (●★ ) - New Friend

Position: Eranyl is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te Gracie randomly met in Ul'dah. She has a playful sense of humor and is a gifted goldsmith. She has an antagonistic relationship with Mars. Recently, Eranyl got into a bit of trouble over Gracie's novel, Our Dravanian Sunsets. The Seeker thought it would be hilarious to plant several copies of the banned tome within the Holy See's library. She was brutally beaten for her transgression, which left Gracie grief stricken and only blamed herself for the incident. There is still a book lingering within the Holy See because of Eranyl, which worries Gracie.

L'Raha Nunh (● - Acquaintance, former crush
Position: Otherwise known as Ra, this Keeper-Seeker is polite, calm and logical. He runs the Wayfarer's Rest Tavern with his sister, Rini, where Lynn also works. Gracie was once the object of his affections, which she did not reciprocate. For now, they're giving each other some space.

Selarian Cloverbloom (● - Mentor
Position: Gracie is very fond of her new mentor, Selarian Cloverbloom. For one thing, he uses his brain when solving problems. For another, he is a fount of wisdom that she is enthusiastic about tapping. When Ra ended up needing his stitches replaced, she happily asked Selarian to teacher her. She is also very fond of his girlfriend, Arya.

Oliver Amaranth (●♥ - New Friend
Position: Gracie met Oliver at the Grindstone. They faced off against one another, and she pinched him in the back. He called her rude. Since then, they've become fast friends and they seem to have some sort of subtle flirtation thing going on. Who knows what that's all about, because she certainly doesn't. He has read her books and was a fan of hers before he even knew her.

Hayato Yuzuka (●♥ - Close Friend

Position: Gracie met Hayato by chance while serving his drinks at Wayfarer's. The goal was to show off her cleavage to get him to drink more, but instead she wound up with both a friend and a fan. He's cheerful, boisterous and brave and is always the first to volunteer himself to help another. He often laments the lack of straight women in Eorzea and wishes for a companion of his own. Though Gracie loves him, she wishes he'd find a woman deserving of him. For the moment at least, they're thick as thieves and he's always there to cheer her on.
