Appearance

The first thing many will notice about Hardy Boulder is his sheer size. Even amongst his own kind he is larger than average, and he dwarfs most other races. The Roegadyn's frame is extremely muscular, and one would be hard pressed to find much excess fat on his body. Various small scars mar his tanned skin; the most prominent one runs vertically from his forehead down to below his left eye. Hardy began wearing an eyepatch over his left eye not after receiving that scar. Wild grey hair and an equally wild beard frame his face, and neither can often be considered clean. Juxtaposing an otherwise fearsome appearance is a usually jolly expression, and crows feet at his eyes that betray his age.

History

Hardy Boulder was born the third in his family, and to conserve scarce clan resources his family sent him away at the age of fifteen. Following the instructions of his clan the young Roegadyn travelled to the monks of The Fist of Rhalgr where he met his older brother, Gentle Couerl. Over the course of seven years Hardy learned under their tutelage, until his urge to roam compelled him to leave the temple. He was entrusted with two sacred tomes of the temple, in the hope he would spread the ways of Rhalgr. Mere moons after his departure the tyrant Theodorac slaughtered almost all of the monks, and by the time the news had reached Hardy's ears he was in Ul'dah.
