Character

General

Hirokuli (or Hiro [He-row]) as he is called by his friends is a young and spirited Lalafell Pugilist. Starting out from a family of 13 brothers and sisters, he is used to a large family and constantly being surrounded by people. Growing up on the tail end of his parents breeding campaign he was subjected to physical labor by his older siblings and constant teasing and the pressures of being "low man on totem pole". However, due to his upbringing young Hiro is near impervious to mental subjugation and once he sets his mind on something, he is going to do just that.
He is physically shaped just like any member of the Lalafell race with the exception of his muscular constitution. Constant labor and chores have toned his muscles to a very peculiar hardness. In the terms of his 4th oldest brother Jarakuli, "hitting him is like trying to punch a mountain face". He is not bulky nor abnormally huge in his peoples standards, just much more solidly built. His body type quite naturally drove him to more and more physically demanding roles, such as the pursuit of the Pugilist way of life. Even as a novice he could usually just shrug off blows from monsters several times bigger than himself, and the training only enhanced his speed and tone even more. His eyes on becoming one of the most acclaimed Monks in the world, Hiro is constantly training both his body and his mind daily trying to reach his goal.

Appearance

Like most members of the Lalafell race, Hirokuli is tiny, almost diminutive. Standing a fraction above 3 fulms tall it would be quite easily to dismiss him as just another child or Lalafell. However Hiro has one particular trait that tends to stand out and that is his eyes. His right one a brilliant silver color, and his left a shimmering gold, his eyes seem to give off their own inner "light" of sorts with how luminous they are. Many a female (and even some males) have been caught by his gaze and quickly avert the stare. This is mostly due to the fact that, according to one storeowner in Ul'dah said, "its almost as though he can see right into your soul, and know what you are thinking and feeling". This is of course not true at all, as Hiro has no powers of mind reading. His natural azure hair is lowlighted with black dye constantly due to his own personal tastes.

Behavior

Hirokuli is open, friendly, knowledgeable, a little sarcastic, and a prankster. He knows the power his eyes have on other people and knows full well that people do not like to look him in the eyes because of it. So he will challenge people to staring competitions and secretly delight in the micro-expressions of terror shot his way. He will then laugh not in mockery, just in jest and proceed to buy the lad or lass a drink, or five.
Hiro enjoys his drink well and has before tried to master the apparent "art" of "Drunken Boxing". However, according to his brothers, it was just an excuse to drink during his growing up, and perhaps, an excuse to inflict some light bruising on the older siblings who put him to work daily. He knows well his own limitations and what he can and cannot do, but that only drives him to take on challenges slightly exceeding those to see how far he can push himself. Happy, fiercely loyal to his friends and family, honest and a little wild, Hiro isn't usually the life of a party, but he sure does at to it.

Combat

General

Hiro is a mainly a Pugilist, however he has dabbled a bit in the spear, bow and sword. He prefers hand to hand fighting though, calling it "the true test of intention". Hiro believes anyone who is willing to go up-close and personal with an opponent is just trying to find their own personal "Way of Life" just like he is. He doesn't enjoy hurting his fellow denizens of Eorzea, yet will occasionally jump into a friendly dual if he knows the person well enough. Against monsters or any chaotic destructive entity that knows only how to take life, he will charge in willingly and fight to the death, not because he believes he must save someone, though that has been known to happen. Mostly, he does it because he enjoys the challenge of fighting for his own convictions against an opposing force with convictions directly conflicting his own.

Relationships

Family

- Hirokuli has a very tangled and in depth family. Not due to any dark secrets or mysteries, simply due to the sheer size of his family! One mother, one father, 12 other siblings is a lot of ground to cover. His mothers name is Cicika Cika. She is a stay at home mother whos cooks, cleans and cares for her infant children all day. Once they reach toddler age, they are then given to the next oldest for raising, which keeps following up the chain of siblings every year he ages. She believes this promotes extremely close bonds with the family and has yet to be proven wrong. His father is a very successful and renown merchant trader named Janokuli La Nanokuli. Being of royalty he chose to live among the people and in his words become "uninherited". He wants no sort of special favors for his status and has worked very hard to make a name for himself. Though he is royalty the townsfolk treat him closely like any other well respected merchant as per his wishes. His siblings are mostly male who are also on the path to become merchants. Working in various stores that father owns they are extremely knowledgeable about the market flow in the world and profit from it greatly. His sisters, which number 3, are busy bodied women who dabble in just about everything. From music to dancing to cooking but mostly just to having fun. Cicika has instilled great value and morals into her daughters to live life to the fullest, for once you have children, they become your entire world. The usual family spats and troubles exist to be sure, but in the end at least once a week, the entire family gets together for a dinner without fail. 

Training and Disappearance

-Hiro has been known at times to suddenly disappear without preamble or warning. Much speculation is drawn from this but the general belief is that Hiro is a very solitary creature. He prefers to conduct his own training mechanisms in a remote location that constantly changes. He believes that an individuals training style is nearly a holy matter and should be respected. Hiro's methods of training are many varied and usual insanely challenging. Those who have accidentally stumbled on his training methods sometimes think he is either trying to commit suicide or is mentally unstable. Neither have been confirmed but his family claims that he is completely sane and happy, so suicide doesn't seem to be his motivation. According to a Lalafell who found Hiro apparently free diving off the bridge that spans across Nophica's Wells, he stood at the edge of the bridge for a long time with his eyes focused below and rhythmically tapping on his wrists seeming to be counting. He then suddenly stood, counted to 3 and dove right off into the waters below. Many merchants, guards and citizens ran down the pathways as fast as they could to claim his body, only to find Hiro laughing gaily on a bank, seemingly unhurt and dripping wet. When asked why he was trying to commit suicide, he stoppled laughing, looked at everyone there with an obscure smile on his face and answered, "Suicide? You're all crazy! I'm starving and that fish jumping was too delicious looking to let swim away!". He then continued laughing and laid back down on the back to enjoy his mirth as everyone else slowly walked away in disbelief.

Trying to find Hiro during one of his sabbaticals is almost like finding a needle in a haystack as he usually leaves his linkshells behind and tells noone of where he is heading to. He knows Eorzea is a dangerous place and that one day perhaps he will meet his demise but that is the life he has chosen for himself and he is comfortable with his choice.  

History/Timeline

-Hirokuli doesn't freely give information out about his past after he left his family to begin his training as a Pugilist. It seems as though perhaps something happened during his training time that he is extremely reluctant to talk about. It is unclear whether his family knows at all what happened during those 4 years he was out training, but regardless his family respects his privacy far too much to let anyone else know, if indeed they know at all.
