"Long ago there was a starry-eyed Knight, once brimming with life and a romantic notion of what the title entailed. Fighting for the greater good, committing no wrong, and destined to become a shining example for all to behold. But life is no fairy tale, and war gradually takes its toll."

Born the daughter of a lowly stablehand in the frigid underbelly of Ishgard's capitol, Star is no stranger to hardship. Life in the Brume was ever the fight for survival, where Gil and kindness were short in supply. A miserable existence that demanded she labor her childhood years away, mucking the stables with her father just to get by. Her outlook on life had always been shallow, figuring she was destined to live and die in those pens. It wasn't until the day a stranger arrived at those stable gates in the midst of a terrible blizzard that her life would take an unexpected course.

Outside the storm grew fierce, with visibility nearing zero and temperatures plummeting. Star had set to blanketing the birds when she spied the frost covered figure outside of her corral. She hesitated, unable to fathom why anyone in their right mind would be out wandering in weather such as this. Moving to question the stranger she identified a shivering Hyur, clad in plate and bearing colors foreign to Coerthan territories. The barded chocobo he rode staggered on the verge of exhaustion. Hurriedly, she beckoned the weary man into her home offering a stall for his mount to weather the storm. Offering what little hospitality they had to give, Star broke bread with the Knight whilst he regaled tales of his many adventures. The next morning Star woke to find that the man had already resumed his journey, leaving only a parchment tacked to the stable door.

Words cannot convey the debt of gratitude I owe you. Though perhaps I may yet still be able to return the favor as Eorzea is in desperate need of people such as you Hymlstyr. Should you choose to take control of your life and make an impact on this troubled land, you need only deliver this letter to the airship, the seal will speak for itself. Take care

Nature & Demeanor

Nature & Demeanor

Finding it difficult to converse with those who lead peaceful lives and rare to trust those who don't, Hymlstyr tends to keep to herself. Preferring to stay in the background and absorbing her surroundings. Though she treats everyone with respect, it is only in the company of those she would call "Brother" & "Sister" that she lowers her guard and allows her personality shine. She carries herself with pride, standing upright and completing her tasks with purpose.

Notable Features

Notable Features

Common Appearance: Towering over most, the Roegadyn oft evokes a commanding presence. Her amber eyes piercing in stark contrast to her slate-colored skin and dark hair styled in traditional military fashion. Graced with a typically stern expression, it is no small wonder that few decide to engage in idle gossip with the woman.

Voice: Hymlstyr bears no remarkable accent, her tone is rough and mature but not grating. Her choice of wording is usually that of a professional soldier colored with profanity. Rarely engaging in idle conversation, she often keeps her discussions brief and to the point. Choosing only to open up to those she considers a comrade.

Clothing: Typically clad in ornately fashioned plate, it's a rare sight to see her unprepared for battle. Even then her outfit's tend to be militaristic and sharp in nature. Years of wearing armor have grown her accustomed to the weight and discomfort it naturally brings.

Prejudices

Prejudices
Hymlstyr harbors no prejudice toward any race or nationality, believing it is one's heart that defines them. This does however cause her to look down upon sellswords with disgust. Loathing those who would betray their banner or comrade if the price were right. Respect is paramount to her and will treat others with it until proven undeserved.

Strengths

Strengths

Grit: Fully aware that there is always somebody stronger and smarter out there, she prides herself on her determination. To Star, that is where the true strength of a warrior lies. For better or worse, it is her unyielding resolve that carries her to victory.

Experience: Years of warfare have tempered the Roegadyn's body and mind. There is little left in the world that catches her off guard or gives reason to doubt her capabilities. Younger soldiers look up to her as a wealth of martial knowledge and discover untapped bravado fighting by her side.
