Appearance

Being of the Angura clan, Igor is characteristically ruddy-skinned, his hair bearing much the same color, save for the occasional sun-bleached flecks here and there. His horns are black, as those of any Xaela, and quite long, extending back from his head at a slight curve and flanking his high-set ponytail. His face is handsome, albeit severe, and sports very thick scaling. Most striking, perhaps, are his eyes, their sclera forebodingly dark and both irises glowing bright gold. He is tall even for one of his kind, and very well-muscled on every part of his body, save for his long, narrow tail, which is barbed at the end.

History

Born and raised very traditionally, Idughadai began life in the harsh environs of northeastern Othard, where his body was tempered by both the chill breeze and the hard sun. He grew up fighting alongside the rest of his clan, enjoying the thrill of tearing into his many enemies with either his own claws or his favorite axe. Unfortunately, when word of a Garlean invasion began to spread between the clans, young Idughadai was compelled to flee his homeland, foregoing his traditions in favor of selfish survival.

He boarded a Doman ship alongside many other refugees, and though he did not speak their language, he always listened intently to their words. He continued to simply follow and listen for many years even as he frequently drifted between Eorzean settlements. Eventually, following the Calamity, Idughadai settled in with a group of Ala Mhigan refugees within the shelter of Ul'dah's walls, and it was there that he began to craft for himself a new identity.

As Idughadai began to learn the Eorzean language, both spoken and written, he became more comfortable speaking with the people surrounding him. Unfamiliar with and confused by his strange name, his Highlander companions instead took to calling him the simpler and more familiar "Igor," and the name simply stuck.

He eventually began to make a name for himself as a blacksmith, having incorporated the skills he learned in his homeland alongside those of his neighboring Hellsguard and Highlanders to construct his own distinctive brand of work. As of the present day, he still continues business in Ul'dah, where he always listens and seldom speaks, preferring to simply do his work and keep to himself.

Personality

Igor is notoriously quiet and as cold as his steel. Beneath this hard exterior, however, is a gentle, passive soul that exists to serve. As the Eorzean language is not his first, he is always very thoughtful about his words and chooses them carefully. Even in battle, he is straight to the point while not being overly aggressive, always reading his opponents thoroughly before striking efficiently.

Trivia

• While not entirely illiterate, Igor is a very slow reader and cannot write Eorzean letters very easily. He cannot read his native language, despite speaking it fluently.
• His instinct upon seeing most other Xaela, especially males, is to act with hostility. He's still sort of working on this. Old habits, however, die hard.
• He very much dislikes the heat, which is ironic, considering his chosen city-state of residence.
