Physical Description

Easily mistaken for a shuffling zombie in search of fresh brains, this middle-aged male Seeker appears to be seeking coffee rather than the sun. While his general appearance is clean and tidy, it’s also a bit rough and disheveled at the same time. His hair is combed back in a smooth wave with wisps of grey among the deep black sea, while errant tufts are permitted to exist all along the edges. His intense, slitted eyes are a dull yellow, flanked with a darkened shadow that almost makes him appear as though he’d been punched in either eye by sheer fatigue. Apart from a few age wrinkles, his face is otherwise unblemished. Perhaps most notable of all, however, is his rough and wild black beard that is intricately groomed and cared for- clearly a point of pride for him.

His equipment and armor are similarly rough, but well-maintained. Sporting a suit of heavy plate armor fringed with a tinge of gold steel and black support padding, the Seeker appears built to be an armored rock against the swirling tides of the battlefield. The only part of him that doesn’t appear to be clad in steel is a battle kilt that allows a bit more mobilitty on his feet. A large claymore is strapped to his back, and clearly illustrates the strength he must have in order to be able to properly employ its usage. Around his belt is an assortment of pouches and equipment bags made for easy access in the din of combat, which contain various tinctures, field rations, camping supplies, and an emergency first-aid kit. Curiously enough, he also carries an ancient looking black tome at his side, chained to his belt to prevent it from being stolen or easily removed. While the book is unremarkable at face value, it projects a faint aura of unease to anyone sensitive to aether.

While his gait is purposeful and true, he can often be seen distracted by looking over his shoulder or off to the side and seemingly random intervals.

Personality & Motives

Typically calm, well-spoken, respectful, curious, collected, and personable, J’vahlis seems like your typical adventurer- however, spending time with him quickly reveals that he is a man at his wit’s end. A prime candidate for post traumatic stress disorder, he gets distracted easily and may even seem jumpy at times. He has a strong need to be in control- or at least feel like he is- at nearly all times. This may be largely attributed to the reality that most of his life has been largely out of his control since the day he was forced to leave his village. It’s hardly any surprise that the normally quiet and calm fellow can turn into a raging berserker, hell-bent on drinking the blood of his enemies, when forced into a confrontation he cannot control.

Despite the broken mess that his mind is, however, glimmers of a keen intellect and sharp eye can often be glimpsed. He recognizes and acknowledges his shortcomings and tries to downplay them as best he can, and he makes every effort to appear as average as he can manage. There is ultimately an inner zeal and drive behind the man that hints at some greater purpose.
