Kalahira Nira
Kalahira, or Kitten as she prefers to be called, is a wandering hybrid who has a severe case of amnesia. She does not remember who she is, where she's from, or almost everything about the world around her.
She is most well known for her magnetic personality, her never-keep-me-down attitude, and her willingness to try new things. She does not appear to be afraid of anything, and is always encouraging those around her to try new things and to be as happy as can be. If you are someone who does not like to venture into the unknown, Kalahira will drag you there kicking and screaming, all the while maintaining a sweet little smile.

[edit] OriginsMany months ago, Kalahira was known as Oni. She awoke alone in the desert surrounded by blackened ground in a circular pattern, as though she was in the center of an explosion and somehow survived. Without any memory of who she was, where she came from, or anything about the world, she was left only with what was laid before her. For some reason, the name 'Oni' popped into her head and she decided to stick with that, at least until she could find her real name. Upon getting up and wandering around, she found a chocobo racing up to her and coming to an abrupt stop. It knelt before her and allowed her to climb on. For whatever reason, she recognized the bird's name: Aero. Being deathly thirsty, lost and confused, she mounted the chocobo and allowed it to carry her off to wherever it would. Fortunately, the first place it would stop was the Forgotten Springs. Upon seeing water, she practically dove into it and drank. The water was hot and dirty, but she just needed water that desperately that she didn't care. She was later found laying beside the water unconscious, and brought to one of the nearby structures to receive medical care. When she came to, the settlers began to ask her who she was and where she came from. She was unable to answer, as she too did not know. Given she was wearing robes and carrying a staff with her, the settlers believed she must belong to the thaumaturge guild. After a few days of proper care, clean water and warm meals, she was escorted away from the Forgotten Springs and taken to Ul'dah, where she could hopefully find the answers she needs. Unfortunately, Kalahira (Oni at the time) was promptly cast out of the guild. Their reasoning was: her aether was too dangerous. Despite her pleas to tell her why, they refused and commanded her to leave. Without answers, Kalahira was left to wander aimlessly. It was at this time she decided not to let her past be a hindrance, and instead to look to the future. If her aether was somehow dangerous, it must mean she must have done something wrong in her past. Otherwise, why would she have been in the explosion? She recognized her past was likely not worth pursuing, and she instead decided to look at this as a fresh opportunity to start over. She took it upon herself to begin learning new things and try new experiences. She would stop worrying about who she was and instead think about who she'd be. Eventually, someone recognized her and called her Kalahira. They claimed to have known her parents and was glad to see she was doing so well. She was informed that her parents were worried she had forgotten about them, which... she had. She did not inform the stranger of her amnesia because she didn't want people to worry about her... and she knew parents were extremely prone to worrying. Instead, she bid the stranger a fond farewell and asked them to inform her parents that she's better than ever. Now with the name Kalahira, she immediately started telling her friends to stop calling her Oni and to call her Kalahira... or Kitten, as she now preferred.
A Past UncoveredOne day, during a discussion in the Quicksand of Ul'dah, Kalahira was approached by two people who were familiar with aether and the guilds. One was curious as to why Kalahira was turned away from the thaumaturge's guild, and the other was a friend who told her that he could acquire her personal files if she really wanted to know who she was. Honestly, Kalahira was less interested with who she was and more interested with why she was unable to use aether, and why people kept telling her she was dangerous. She agreed that she would like to read about herself, but she was not prepared for the answers she found. She didn't speak of what she found in the papers, but what she did find disgusted her. She grew angry with herself and began working extra hard to learn how to fight. She fled to the mountains of Coerthas so she could learn to survive in the bitter cold and against the beasts that roamed the land. It was not easy, but with what she had done, she felt it was necessary and just. She spoke to no one about her discovery, and always put on a smile when she would return to the main cities for events or otherwise. She wanted to make it seem as though everything was okay, when the reality was far from it. [Last updated 06/06/2017]Kalahira is roughly 2'5" tall, making her shorter than even the shortest average Lalafell. Whether this stunted growth is due to her being a hybrid, or simply because she grew to be only so tall is unknown. Her ears and eyes are Miqo'te, with the eyes being Seeker eyes, and she also possesses a long, fluffy tail that is as white as her hair.
Her hair seemingly glitters in the sun at a distance because it is so well maintained and pure white, but it does not actually glitter. Her eyes were once pink, but due to her story, they have shifted to black and white. Many ask if she is blind or hindered by her eye, but she is quick to inform them that she can in fact see just fine, and she is no more aware of the eye than others are of the different muscles in their face. She lacks eyebrows, which is actually very well concealed because of her hair... and next to nobody has made a note of this, which is surprising to her. Due to her nickname (and preferred name) of Kitten, she has also painted white whiskers on her face. She also has an overbite with one sharp tooth that sticks out constantly from her left upper lip. She is used to it, though, so she doesn't bite her lip as often as one might think. Her body is about the same size as a regular Lalafell's, but her upper body and waist are slightly more trim due to her Seeker half, making her hips slightly more noticeable than a typical Lalafell. Due to her extreme fondness for sweets and desserts, the character is chubbier than other Lalafell, and very noticeably so. Coupled with having an outie belly button, it is not uncommon for people to ask Kalahira if she is with child. She thinks it's cute when people ask, but she is quick to inform them that she is not. Her hips, thighs, legs and feet are about the same as that of a typical Lalafell, except that her thighs are slightly larger due to how many sweets she consumes. Though her thighs aren't quite as noticeable as her other unusual features. She lacks any kind of scars or tattoos, but she will occasionally paint fake tattoos onto her body to make her seem more intimidating than she is. Because she is not very good at combat, she feels people will be more prone to ignore her if she at least looks like she's capable of hurting you.Loves
