Miyamatsu no Kyuusei The Tea Tender   CHARACTER DESCRIPTION Once a monk titled under one of Yanxia’s longest standing temples, Kyuusei immigrated into the heart of Eorzea a few moons after the Calamity in search of answers. Many summers and winters have passed since then, and while Kyuusei’s devotion to the wise Dawn Father has not waned, he has been encouraged to discover new trades in order to survive these foreign lands. With two of the friends he ventured into Eorzea with at his side, the retired monk now runs a humble tea house in the Goblet, offering authentic teas and sweets that are sure to give fellow Far Easterners a sense of nostalgia. There are rumors of something stranger underneath such an establishment, and such intrigue inspire many daring customers to come visit the quaint little house. "Our home is not gone, but lost to us. As a child, Kyuusei was formally educated in literature, culture, history, and most of all, spirituality. A young Kyuusei would take many teachings and points of the Dawn Father’s wisdom to heart, and for some points, very literally. This gave him a reputation of a greatly devoted, though somewhat strange child. ▼ TEENAGE Surprisingly to his guardians, Kyuusei was somewhat rebellious much of his teenage years. He often skipped out on his classes, meditation sessions, and tutors to go out and play with his younger siblings. Even as disobedient as he was, young Kyuusei was a very pleasant boy, oddly calm and collected for someone his age. This demeanor made him quite popular with the locals of his same age, leading him to “accidently” accumulate a dozen “lovers”. It seemed he still took the Dawn Fathers scriptures literal when it wrote of “loving all who know and speak of you”. He still hasn’t figured out why that was bad. ▼ ADULTHOOD Kyuusei became a monk under the Dawn order at the ripe age of twenty summers, specifically on his name day. From there on, he focused all his attention and devotion to his duties: providing service to his community and offering knowledge to those who desired tranquility in their hearts. During these years, Kyuusei’s charm and giddiness went from some to none, internally finding no sense of personal satisfaction in his work. Over the next few years, it became increasingly more difficult to express himself and his own thoughts, having been so engrossed on spreading another’s. ▼ CURRENTLY After immigrating to Eorzea in search of the fallen moon Dalamud eight summers past, Kyuusei has since settled down managing and serving a teahouse in the Goblet. Making a profession out of his passion has since recently helped him push out of his straight-faced shell, though he has plenty of time before he be rids of his old habits entirely.
