Hardened by the desert sands of Ul'dah; Lyriah tends to dress more masculine adorning very little in the terms of jewelry except two sunstone earrings and an amethyst choker her mother gave to her. She has blue eyes in which she inherited from her mother and ruddy brown hair from her father. She wields the lance, not only the sigil of Halone the Fury, her goddess, but also the feel of it felt appropriate and allowed her an advantage in battle because of her slight form.

History

The daughter of a traveling Bard and a Gridanian traders daughter, Lyriah was born in Ul'dah where her parents sought to find a safe place to live as a family. As Lyriah grew up she was constantly under the influence of passing adventurers who came and went as they pleased. The idea of adventure thrilled her and soon led her into taking an interest in lancing lessons when she was old enough to hold one. Her mother soon after fell ill when a surplus of refugees entered Ul'dah carrying various forms of disease; without the funds for a proper healer and non willing to work without gil she soon died silently one night. This left her father not only the burden of a heavy heart but the burden of the debt they found themselves immersed in from the high costs of a funeral. Sensing her fathers troubles; Lyriah took on her first task from the city to help her father out by finding a reward suitable enough to pay off the debt they trudged in. She set off confidently but soon only found herself over powered by a beast she hunted. Her life was spared when a passing Ul'dian guard by the name of Yurick that had caught sight of the danger and came to her rescue.

Personality

Lyriah is a very composed woman in all of her efforts. She rarely allows her emotions to get the better of her judgment; a quality she inherited from her mother. However once through the hard rough shell she placed around her, she can be hurt very easily if she trusts and cares deeply for someone. After the death of her mother, Her father's heartbreak influenced Lyriah's hesitation to tread down the path of relationships and instead focus on a life of adventure. Regardless she is extremely polite, loyal, and brave with a never ending flow of endurance.

Employment

After following some rumors and winding up in Limsa, she found herself helping out the Leader of Sanctus Refero. Once the problem at hand was delt with, Lyriah became an employee and a close friend with her new boss. She obtained the title of Chief of Security and held the position for a time. However due to relationship issues, constant attacks and lack of enduring employees, Lyriah resigned her position quietly and left without a word more. She now works as a hired hand in a company that was managed by a former lieutenant of hers in hopes that her life will dull down.

Friends

Alona Rhys: She met Alona when the leader was working through a crisis. She respects Alona and is willing to lay down her life in her defense no matter what the charge would be. She views her as a strong woman who takes on too much at points, as a result Lyriah tries to help her with burdens without hurting her pride. Alona is often considered a sisterly figure to Lyriah.

Sterne Evans: Third in Command with Sanctus Refero and an odd, easy going man. Lyriah met him under the same circumstances that she met Alona, and then spoke again soon after at the Guards' Banquet. He was also a friend of Yurick's when they were younger. Lyriah feels his easy going nature is refreshing and makes all tense atmospheres dissipate.

Galvadan Edgecrusher: A dedicated Elezen who is blood bonded to his "sister" Alona. Lyriah met him during a stress filled moment in which he extended an offer to help her. His kind words and advice helped ease the tension and they soon after grew to know each other. They were once engaged but due to a series of events they broke their relationship.

Aysun Demiir: Like most cases as of recent events, Lyriah met Aysun through her employment with Sanctus Refero. At first she didn't know how to view Aysun, but she soon learned that the Miqote's quick wit and bluntness made her an interesting comrade and friend.

Tyonis Magstrom: This over-excited, perverted, and crude man has some how magically grabbed Lyriah's attention as a older brother figure in her life. He is generally drunk in most instances but he showed his rare moments of his loyalty to his city, friends and loved ones. He's currently a Private with the SultanSworn.

Yurick Azrael: Captain of the Sultan Sworn and a childhood friend of Lyriah's. There was a connection between them at one point but after their paths led to them rarely seeing each other they grew apart. Regardless she finds him to be a good friend still.

Meiarin Beail: This little lalafel, though mischevious, helped Lyriah out of a situation and thus she feels she owes the little one her life. The lalafel herself is relatively young but her intentions for those around her are much more mature than most can sense first off.

Navei Asue: A former co-worker and now her new boss, Navei outstretched a kind hand whenever situations got hard for Lyriah. She values him for his opinion and devotion to what he's passionate about and has earned a place as her 'brother' figure.

Sasha Alier: Navei's now ex-girlfriend and another co-worker in the Nebulous setting, Lyriah hasn't spoken to Sasha much except on rare occasions, but each time such an occasion were to occure, Lyriah always found Sasha to be a gentle and kind elezen that did her best to keep Navei in check.

Selig Erdna: A man she'd only met in sporatic times in the past is now an important figure in her life as her courtship grows with him. She officially met him after her engagement with Galv ended when he expressed interest in joining the security branch of Sanctus Refero. But when she left, he followed and through many trials they grew closer as companions. Through time though it became apparent their paths were not meant to intertwine, leaving Lyriah wondering what lay in store for her future.
