Goals

• Mali's ultimate goal is to assist others through her skills and earning as much gil as she can in the process. While the skills she learned delve into explosives, she's taken that knowledge of engineering to create other devices that have ultimately aided. A sound bomb and receiver was designed to find ore by emitting a specific wavelength, a present given to an old miner in Thanalan for helping her. She has created a single sided barrier emitter to help with bomb tests, allowing her to view explosions much better without risking her life. Such a shield currently has no practical use in combat due to it's many flaws and Mali has yet to be convinced to even try and get past those issues.

Religion

Mali is a non-believer, even if she likes to throw the old "Thal's balls" every now and then. She believes the guardians to be just that, guardians, not some god-like entity that will listen to desperate pleas. She respects those that are dedicated and does not act against actions that follow their beliefs. She finds those that shun anyone that believes in a religion to be disrespectful, as not everyone holds the same view as another. The use of insulting through a guardian's name comes from time in Ul'dah where many people would curse during her jobs. The idea of cursing with a god's name was novelty to Mali and she's took that in stride and has often used such cursing though it isn't often.

Alignment

Chaotic Good.

A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society.

Personality

Prideful, eccentric, bold, loyal. In a party, she garners the most attention just from the things she says. The ability to switch to a serious attitude on the fly can be seen as off-putting, almost eccentric, as she is often seen as loud and cheerful even while working. Her bold attitude stands strongly in combat, as she tends to favor explosives over anything else. The use of a dangerous weapon can be seen a reckless, however her knowledge and expertise on the subject allows her to be wise enough to decide when not to use certain gadgets and tricks. Her loyalty stands strong, a friend to her is valuable and almost precious. She's willing to go lengths for a friend if she is ever needed.

Flaws

• Absolute focus. When working, Mali tends to focus greatly and always ignores her surroundings. This makes her a vulnerable target.
• Easily prone to panic. While she does not panic when working at a job or during crafting, she easily panics when others are and it does greatly affect her thinking process. This often leads to mistakes and bad judgement.
• Gil hoarder. A lesser flaw, Mali is known to hoard gil and skip out on needs as much as possible in order to keep her budget as high as possible. She uses the excuse of "emergency situations", but she simply has no knowledge of haggling and is scared of losing too much gil.
• Colourblind. Mali has borderline monochrome vision, only being able to see sharp colours and having difficulty with saturated or darker tones. She cannot see green or yellow at all, which makes brown also a difficult colour to see. It does not hamper her ability to notice things, nor her ability to disable a bomb.

Fears

• Flying. The aspect of height is not the issue, but moving while in the air frightens Mali. It's more of an instinctive fear than one developed from trauma, the idea that a ground animal flying scares her.

Talents

• Engineering. Namely the use and creation of "explosive" type gadgets, Mali has spent time delving into areas around that particular subject in order to create devices that would aid people, rather than harm them. Sadly a lot of her work is mostly dangerous and is perfect for combat/espionage jobs.

• Sniping. One of the few skills taught by her father, she learned to take down targets from considerable distances away (further than what I bow could do). It definitely makes her a great candidate from picking off targets before a fight ever begins.

Intelligence

Mali's knowledge and intelligence is more scattered than a bag of flour after it's been dropped. While she is literate, well spoken and have expert knowledge on explosives...her knowledge on surroundings and culture is extremely lacking. This is due to a lack of interested outside of her work, she tends to either focus on her work or on relaxing. Even her homeland, Thanalan, often appears alien to her as she is often hiding in the same locations time and time again. As a result she is quite unaware of how the races operate their daily lives differently, from their beliefs to how they treat others. Her knowledge of trade is also lacking outside of her own subject, she knows how to obtain her resources without wasting gil but when it comes to food and other needs she's clueless. Her habit of hoarding gil has developed as a result, though not to any extreme.

Abilities and Skills

Weapons

• Dirty Musket Pistol, old and worn. Is looking for an upgrade.
• Bombs ranging from explosive to smoke and even morbol gas. She tends to hold only 2 of each kind due to the variety.
• Glamour Camouflage device. Only able to hide a stationary object, moving whilst the device is in effect causes a rippling visual effect and making the user easy to see. Perfect for sniping.
• Singularity Shield. An extremely potent aetheric shield, using crystals and natural aether. The shield however takes an extremely long to start up (currently the only way to activate the shield is to repeatedly turn the lever like an old fashioned car) and is currently only a two person (or one male roe) wall. Weighs quite a lot as well and is often not carried as a result.

Skills

• SINGLE OR TRIPLE: Mali can take either one target down in a sweep, or 2 or more but not both at the same time. Like stance swapping, she can gain significant chance to hit on one element but lose a lot on another (+ to single - to multiple OR - to single + to multiple)
• GIANT KILLER: The larger the target, the easier it is to take down. Mali can deal more damage to a target that is larger than her.
• RED OR BLUE?: Thanks to her expert knowledge on explosives, Mali is able to plant or disable any bomb faster than most people.

History

Mali's name is not her true name, her name was changed in favour of hiding her family situation.

Daughter of the renown Firestorm leader, Steel Legion, Mali's life was a life on the run. She was not involved in any of the criminal affairs her father delved in and her name, along with the rest of the family's, were not known to the Brass Blades. Legion's desire was to break tradition through any means necessary and he created the Firestorm company to make his dream a reality. The company's ideals were that they follow their own path, against all rules and morales in order to fulfill their ideal individual goals, using gunpowder and chaos as their weapon. Despite this knowledge, the young Roegadyn paid no heed and lives her life as best as she could. She developed an interested in firecrackers and how they worked when her father presented them on her eighth namesday. The craving for knowledge grew further as she grew older, taking apart all sorts of devices she got her hands on regardless of how dangerous the object was. At the age of thirteen she started to learn how to piece things together, namely homemade thrown bombs. She developed new bombs with each passing cycle and came up with ideas upon ideas that would make any engineer interested. 21555

Her fourteenth namesday was the day she was offered one wish, but it could not be a wished her brothers previously asked for. The twins, large and strong, chose wealth and gained a substantial amount of gil to spend. The middle child, Devious Vulture, chose to obtain power. He was offered a job as a shop manager in Ul'dah suns later. Mali however chose to learn skills in order to survive, believing that she can gain power and wealth through hard work and dedication. Steel Legion offered to train her in survival arts, using her knowledge of her hobby in order to create a fighting style that grants her the ability to survive on her own. That fighting style grew into a musketeer of sorts, using her musket and arrangement of bombs to control the battle to how she sees fit. She trained for almost seven years, before her father was unfortunately captured in the middle of a night raid by Brass Blades. He was executed suns later in front of a crowd in East Shroud.

The loss of her father was great, it greatly hampered her skills and motivation. The clan was slowly destroyed from within with no one willing enough to stand up and take command, as one of the twins that was willing to lead died to poisoning while gambling. It took almost half a year of drifting between Thanalan and the Twelveswood before she finally stood up to take hold of her own life again, this time using everything she learned to aim for the same goal her father did. To complete her life goals through whatever means, even if it means bending a few laws. She put a second goal forward as well, to use her skills to aid other people in order to make the world safer...if not a little bit happier. It has been 2 years now since the start of her new journey and she has traveled a lot, worked with a variety of individuals and has earned a name in the underground society:

Name and Lifestyle

Name Etimology

Mali Lutka is Bosnian for "Small Doll". The name itself is not her real name in any way, such a thing was hidden away very carefully to avoid blackmail due to her ties with Steel Legion and the Firestorm. She took her underground alias, which ultimate became The Little Doll, and put a twist on it using old languages found in Thanalan. Her true name, which is extremely hard to find due to her name change and profession change, is Stark Wolf.

The name "The Little Doll" was earned in a job where she snuck highly volatile explosives inside a doll in the Silver Bazaar to "scare" off thieves which ended up unfortunately causing problems. The doll was stolen by the expected thieves and was ultimately blown up when shook violently between two of the criminals (and unexpected calculation on Mali's part). The bomb was not supposed to explode violently at all, only cause a shocking knockback that would normally frighten people into thinking it was possessed, she did not take into count that the substance used could just be violently shaken in order to produce a different result. The Ul'dah underground took ear of this amusing event and ultimately gifted her the name "The Little Doll".
