Personality

Mana has been a creature of adaptation since she was abducted as a small child. Her arrangements were always rife with uncertainty and turbulence, which led her to master the art of adapting to the sometimes demanding shifts in her life. Such adaptation led her personality to flow and bend, finding it far easier to adopt a variance of masks rather than to expose one's true self and leave one vulnerable to the inevitable backlash.


Of course, there are times that such masks fade away to reveal inner glimpses. Despite whatever poise or wry smile she places upon her face, Mana has a plethora of insecurities and vulnerabilities. It is perhaps for this reason that she tends to guard herself with a mixture of grace, a coy tongue and a flexible demeanor. She is not ashamed to occasionally bend to the whims of others, even if it harms her initially because as always, Mana tends to look to the future of inevitable gains or losses.


While she can keep others at an arm's length, there is no denying that she enjoys friendships and conversation. Most she deems superficial at best, but there is still something to be said about an uplifting chat. For those who stick around her and weasel their way deeper into her life, she holds them dear and remains loyal without question. Loyalty is a rather key quality she holds in her heart, although she acknowledges there are variances for how it can be expressed in a variety of relationships. Perhaps one of the few times she will rival against the flow of her usual demeanor would be to assist a close friend or accomplice.


“There is no use holding a grudge against another's nature.” Lastly, Mana tends to believe herself to be relatively kind and compassionate. She would rather help a fellow than scorn them, but she does not hold others to such standards. After various experiences in her travels and former occupation, she has come to accept that everyone is simply a product of their journey. Thieves will steal, killers will kill, etc. It is perhaps that attitude that has both saved her life and cast her into serious trouble from time to time.

A subtle sway of her hips and gentle footsteps usually accompany Mana's gait to give an impression of quiet grace. The years spent dancing, traveling and watching over her shoulder have led to such a habitual walk with her petite build. Even though her height is on the short end of the spectrum for her race, her small frame aids in providing the illusion of long, slender legs. She is by no means physically built or even hinting at an ounce of strength, but her persistent walks and past professions have created a faintly toned, healthy build with special emphasis to her abdomen and rear.

A gentle smile or calm expression often is found upon her features, especially when she dives into her habit of people-watching. Her face is on the thin side of acorn-shaped, especially in her cheeks, with a short nose and lips bordering a pouted expression at times. Most noticeable of all her features would be her doe-like eyes, which are a water-bitten blue framed in dark lashes and often lined with dark pigmentation. However unlike many of her Au Ra kindred, she lacks the glowing ringlets around her pupils.

Delving into more colorful details, Mana is relatively pale with a hint of sun-kissed skin from both a combination of an outdoors life and stubborn pigmentation. Her scales and clear, Au Ra markings are a vanilla white as is common to the Raen although she often adorns some of her features in silver jewelry, especially along her tail and horns. Mirroring the color of her eyes but in a lighter shade, Mana's hair is a skylit blue with streaks of snowy white tresses intermingling in a few locks or towards the end of some strands.


Clothing & Accessories

Her attire changes depending on her travels and what goals she may have in mind day to day. If she had her desires fulfilled, nearly everything she wore would be well-made and tailored, yet she is not made of gil and cannot afford such consistent luxuries. Unused to the dry heat of Ul'dah, Mana dresses a little sparsely in shorts or skirts, although she favors leather shoes or boots despite anything else in such attire. In a more comfortable setting, she gravitates towards robes or dresses, especially enjoying the silks and styles of Doma- feeling as if she touches upon some of her heritage which was lost to her.

Most consistent of any style, Mana enjoys jewelry when it can be afforded or acquired and takes great care to maintain and keep such items. It is not uncommon to see her with specially-crafted silver to form rings along her tail or tiny dangling chains. Rarely does she acquire ornate gems for such jewelry due to their prices, but a few special pieces are kept guarded.
