Character

General

Minako Obinata is an Auri refugee hailing from Doma and is part of the Raen clan. She is an artful ninja who seeks a sense of belonging and has a taste for adventuring. Her family in Doma were highly revered warriors with much ancestral history within her clan. She is the youngest of four children & the only daughter to carry the Obinata surname. She is also the only Obinata to wield two blades and practice the shinobi art within her family, much to her mothers dismay.

Appearance

Minako is tall for an Auri of her gender; she is still considered short when compared to other races. She has bright golden scales engulfing much of her body--clearly of the Raen clan. Her skin is fair and her eyes gray and gold. Usually, her posture is near perfect and she is light on her feet. She may also be seen sporting a pair of daggers, though usually, these are hidden away. She has no tattoos, but often wears body paint. Her hair is a light sea green color.

Personality

Lacking in the knowledge of Eorzean culture, she tends to be very apologetic and at times very awkward. She is well mannered-sometimes overly so, though relaxes some when she is comfortable enough to be at ease.

Combat

Minako is a skillful ninja, though prefers not to boast about it or even let others know. She has experience with archery as well. As of late, she has taken up Thaumaturgy.

Relationships

Family

Minako was born into the upper class society of her clan. Her families long warrior history granted them a prestigious lifestyle. She is her parents only daughter out of four children, thus given the name meaning "beautiful child". Her family held very traditional, which greatly influences her manners. Minako, as far as she knows, was the only member to successfully make it to Eorzea.

Friends

Ferathir Dawnbreaker While learning the proper ways to meld materia into leather, Minako was approached by a Hyur wearing a crown with quite the decorate armor. She was tasked with crafting leather cushions, and after a comedic first interaction, oddly enough was offered a place within The Oathsworn Vigil. She would spend several days to come assisting Ferathir in the search for their company home and while doing so, getting to know him and what the Oath stands for- all at the same time. Their friendship was easily attained, and with time, the bonds of friendship would shape into romance. Though Mina does not wear the flawless band that Ferathir gave to her, she secretly carries it with her at all times.

V'ieh Vhessi Minako was introduced to V'ieh through Ferathir. While she enjoyed her company the first time they met, she felt slightly intimidated by her presence but also intrigued at the same time. It didn't take much time at all for Mina to view V'ieh as a sister, even if their contact was/is limited. The Oath bonded them, and V'ieh, in her own unique way, had always been there for Mina, especially when it came to relationship advice. Mina often didn't know what to think of V'ieh and Ferathir's bickering, as it seemed to happen so frequently. V'ieh had forgone the Oath, which left behind conflicted emotions for Mina, but deep down.. she finds herself thinking of her as a sister figure to this day.

Arthyr Caden Minako walked the streets of Ul'dah with much on her mind. She worried about her Oath family, Ferathir and V'ieh, whom had just had another falling out. Minako was approached by the curious, masked Miqo'te that same night in Ul'dah. She was caught off guard by his greeting and offering to buy her a drink, but then thought that perhaps, it would help ease her mind. The more that Mina drank, the more information began to slip from her tongue with little to no regard that this Miqo'te was still practically a stranger to her. She spoke of her Oath Family, expressed her worry, along with the great amount of love she harbors for them. She even offered the pledge to this man--partly due to her being under the influence, but also in fear of what would become of the Oath with Ferathir and V'ieh fighting so often. Since that night, Mina and Arthyr have spoken multiple times, confirming to Mina that, while he may be an "outsider", Arthyr is a good friend, and a great listener. She often expresses her dislike toward the mask he often wears to hide his face.

Acquaintances

Jerciex Lanquairt A friendly Elezen, who was the first person to speak to Minako in a kind manner. They spoke of Gridania and Minako hopes to meet up again in the future.

Miriella Srilanka Miriella was brought into the Oathsworn by V'ieh, but never took up the Oath in it's entirety. Mina often thought the Au Ra girl to be loose with her tongue, perhaps speaking too much of her mind. Aside from this, Mina thought her to be a lovely girl.

Minako has made no enemies yet, other than the empire itself.
