Minako Obinata hails from Othard and is one of the many refugees that fled Doma. Since arriving in Eorzea, she has steadily grown more accustomed to the new cultures, though she continues to keep old Doman traditions. She frequently expresses great interest in the ways of life that are unfamiliar to her, always eager to learn something new.

Character Details

Minako is a fair skinned Auri girl born of the Raen clan, hailing from Doma. Her almond eyes shine bright as well as the golden scales that adorn her flesh. Her hair is a celeste green color, and her frame is tall and slender--perhaps taller than the average Au Ra female.

Personality & Psychology

On the surface, Minako exudes a cheerful, happy-go-lucky demeanor, and in truth, it is very much a part of who she is. She is an individual who tries her best to remain optimistic and hopeful in any situation. To some, she brings a certain light with her in a world where so much has darkened. Despite all of this, usually dormant, are the more lonely feelings that Minako harbors due in part of missing her loved ones from Doma. She seldom speaks of the things she witnessed during the razing of her homeland, or even her involvement in the rebellion, but she has far from forgotten the events of that time.

Minako has come a long way since her arrival in Eorzea. She is very open to the ways of her new homelands cultures, while also enjoys sharing her own. Though at times, she is still easily confused by some of the habits and thinking patterns that Eorzeans tend to share, she has learned, and continues to learn to fit in among them without losing her own identity. She will often bow when greeting or expressing gratitude to others, though she has been adopting more of the casual wave that most others do instead. It is a bit exaggerated and looks rather silly, though Minako seems to be unaware of it. Minako is not shy and will approach nearly anyone in a friendly manner, though she does make a conscience effort to remain distant of any Au Ra born of the Xaela clan.

Minako's oath to her new family in Eorzea means everything to her. She does not take kindly to anyone who would slander it. To Minako, the Oath is what ended the loneliness that overwhelmed her when she relocated to Eorzea without her blood family. She takes it very seriously.

Combat

To some, it is a mystery if Minako is even acquainted with the idea of combat. She does not present herself in the same way that an adventurer would... but this is how she prefers it to be. Minako is a skillful ninja, who loves her disguises. She is quite agile and nearly a different being in every way when she is fully immersed in the art of ninjutsu.

Minako has only somewhat recently discovered that she can also channel aether to some extent. She has dabbled in the arts of Thaumaturge, but upon realizing the utter destruction that she could possibly cause, she tends to use her new found ability towards mending. Mina does not speak much of this aspect about her.

Ferathir was one of the first in Eorzea to approach Minako in a friendly manner. Their first meeting was comical, with Minako's lack of knowledge for her new homeland ever so evident. Through Ferathir, Minako was introduced to V'ieh Vhessi and the concept of the Oath that she lives for today. He provided Minako with family during a time she felt the most lonely. The two would continue to grow closer, eventually leading up to being Minako's first love. To this day, they remain ever so close, even if their other responisibilities keep them apart from time to time.

In the beginning Minako felt intimidated by V'ieh's demanding presence and overly outgoing personality. Overtime, she began to realize that while loud and often speaks her mind freely, V'ieh is undeniably a caring and dear friend, even after her departure from the Oathsworn. Minako is often concerned with the former Oathsworns perilous lifestyle. V'ieh has been the closest sister figure to Minako that she has ever known.
