[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Primrose has an unclear past. She was in captivity with an Amaalj'aa tribe for roughly twenty-five cycles. There is mystery behind how she lasted so long without being sacrificed to summon Ifrit or being burned alive so that her ashes may have been used to protect the eggs of their young. She attributes it to the protection and guidance of her mother figure - Layla. Having escaped with Layla's assistance, she fled as far as she possibly could on foot before boarding a merchant's cart - not caring where it was going - until they reached Gridania. The conjurers in Stillfane Glade took her in, but she still had no formal place to stay. She spent her nights in The Twelveswood or in the Inn when she had the coin from small jobs around town. Only a few suns into her new life in Gridania did she meet Gaspard Haurtefert and begin "training" to be his bodyguard, urged on by the idea that Layla would want her to protect someone. In the beginning this training mostly included re-learning how to eat, practicing running, and being shown around new areas by Gaspard until officially ready to act in a protective manner. During that time she also met Killian Waltz - though his last name was 'De Bayle' at the time - and in him found a teacher of conjury. Though unable to see her, he was able to deduce that she was not eating well and thus took over as her doctor and part-time caretaker of sorts as well so that she may become healthier sooner. Primrose brought these two men together to form a small party to journey to Thanalan, hoping to find the encampment Prim had last been kept at. They were successful, but in the process of getting in managed to indirectly cause Layla's death. In the short moments prior to the Highlander's passing, she explained the smallest bit of Primrose's past - including that she has a sister named 'Scarlet'. Upon attempting to escape, Killian's efforts to bring mercy to the captives left behind led to a falling out with Primrose. In her time away from Killian, she was offered a place to stay in Gaspard's apartment. Though she eventually made up with Killian, she was forced to re-evaluate her ideas of right and wrong to something a little less black and white. Through this, Primrose's feelings for Gaspard became romantic. She confessed, but her feelings were not reciprocated. After a dark figure from her past named Farrin arrived - causing a brutal fight between him, Primrose, and Killian - Primrose was left with fragmented pieces of information on her past and a scarred and crippled body, even after healing from The Fane. During this encounter, Scarlet made an appearance before her sister for the first time when killing Farrin and destroying a seal placed on Primrose by their mother. Prim was left with a new scar on her chest as well as significantly scarred knees. She lost her ability to walk from these injuries for a short period of time. After another confession to Gaspard, Primrose learned of sensitive things from his past that only reinforced her belief that her feelings and presence were only harmful to him. She chose to lie for the very first time in her life. A questionable decision but one she believed in all the same. She made Gaspard believe that her feelings had been a lie, that she had only wanted to trick him into a strictly physical relationship. This effectively crushed him - especially given the tidbits of his past that he had revealed - and he left his apartment to her, saying he never wanted to return. The very next day, Primrose revealed her lie to Killian. She told him she was leaving as well and asked that he would watch over Gaspard. Killian, however, is vehemently opposed to lying and rejected her harshly. She left him on the floor of the apartment with the key. She made an attempt to return to the home her sister's manservant had told her of. Primrose left special mementos and a letter on Scarlet's doorstep, tipping her off to what happened and sending her into a panic. She set out to find Gaspard in his poor mental state and managed to snap him out of it by giving him Prim's letter. Scarlet, Kamui (her manservant), and Gaspard set out after Prim and found her in Coerthas with a cold on her way to her birthplace in the north - Sharlayan. She made it home to The Shroud with a new declaration of love, but it nearly cost Gaspard his life. She is currently very disappointed with herself and searching for ways to make it up to both him and Killian for her actions. These recent experiences have caused her to feel emotions that she has never had to confront before - anger, sadness, jealousy, guilt, self-pity. She has had to cope with the self proclaimed "ugly" way these emotions have caused her to behave and learn to deal with them in a healthy manner without losing the kindness in herself. Equipped with more memories and information thanks to her sister, Primrose is taking time to learn about herself and focus on her relationship with Gaspard until she is ready to move forward with life as it had been. Her goals are roughly the same. Protect Gaspard, learn from Killian, and find out more about her past. APPEARANCE Primrose registers at a meager 4 fulms, 11 ilms - though she is convinced she is a solid 5 fulms - which is rather short for even a Midlander Hyur. Her hair is straight, white as snow, and falls just past her rear. She has heterochromia - or differently colored eyes - with the left eye being black and the right eye being silver. Her build is quite petite and she has only recently begun to recover from extreme malnourishment from her recent captivity, her ribs no longer prominent beneath her tanned skin as they were. Despire her having been underweight, she has always had a well developed bosom. Her waist is tiny, hips small and curved, but she has a practically non-existent butt. A small beauty mark rests at the righthand corner of her mouth that accentuates her perpetual sunny smile. Both of her ears are pierced multiple times, though she generally only wears one earring at a time. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ The amount of scarring on her body, some old and some new. She has several rings of scarring around her throat and neck that stand out as lighter than the rest of her skin. She also has a scar stretching from the center over her chest, across her heart, and to the tip of her left shoulder as well as webbed looking scarring over both knees and surrounding skin that would resemble bad burn marks. ■ The single small dimple that sometimes forms directly beneath her beauty mark. ■ Her hair, being stark white and now reaching just past her bottom. It is usually down, having recently grown considerably from mysterious happenings from where it used to stop at her shoulderblades. PERSONALITY Primrose is essentially a walking ray of sunshine. Though completely oblivious to many things, she generally does not let that stop her from seeing a positive outcome to virtually every situation she is placed in. She is constantly smiling and will happily greet anyone that makes eye contact with her; she has never met a stranger. This cheerful nature comes as a surprise when anyone learns of her past hardships. Despite this radiant positivity, she sometimes gets too caught up in trying to solve her own problems to ask for help along the way. The only time her positivity seems to falter is in regards to herself. There is a sense of obliviousness to Primrose. She will verbalize every thought she has about a person out loud and in the exact moment she has the thought – but lucky for her and everyone else, her thoughts are typically very sweet and positive. She does not understand taboo subjects. Prejudice against certain races - or bi-racial relationships - makes absolutely no sense to her and she will have none of it. Things like other peoples' perception of the timeline at which life's milestones should happen (branching out on your own, marriage, children, employment choices, etc) do not make sense to her - she believes that when you are ready for such things is between you and The Twelve. Though Layla taught her to read and write as best she could given her limited resources, there are several things that Prim does not understand or cannot read. Physical touch is a major part of the way that Prim communicates. This may pose a problem those individuals that do not like to be touched. If it expressed to her, she will try her best to be respectful, but occassional hand squeezes, knee touches, or hugs may still happen if in an emotional or stressful situation. She does not mean anything by it and merely means to comfort. After several stressful situations - nearly bleeding to death, confessing a one sided love, running away, and then having her love returned - overwhelming new feelings have gotten the best of her and she has developed some anxiety issues. She has caught herself being selfish, self-pitying, defensive, and rude and is horrified at herself for losing her sunny disposition. Her partner has been very good at easing her worries and reviving the positivity in her. L I K E S ■ Nature. Primrose is passionate about nature and all of its beauty. She loves flowers the most, the one in vibrant colors like deep reds and bright yellows most of all. ■ Friends. Her friends Killian and Gaspard are the most important people in her life. She has more recently met two more women that she is slowly growing fond of as well. D I S L I K E S ■ "Bad" People. Cruelty is something Primrose does not take lightly, thus making people who practice it something that she does not take a liking to. ■ Senseless Violence. Primrose's solution to any matter will never be senseless violence. She finds it just that: senseless. In her mind, there are always other solutions to any matter. H O B B I E S ■ Flower Picking. Primrose almost always stops to pick flowers along her way while traveling anywhere. She often loses track of time that way. ■ Sight Seeing. Traveling and sight seeing with Gaspard has become one of her favorite pastimes. He loves to travel and explain everything he knows and she loves to learn, so it works out. S T R E N G T H S ■ Talent In Conjury. Primrose has a natural talent for detecting and controling aether, which gives her talent in conjury. She has learned it fast and well, not in small part to the instruction of Killian Waltz. ■ Detecting Honesty. After having spent so much time in such close proximity to other people, Prim has picked up a natural ability to detect honesty and dishonesty from people from a combination of factors. W E A K N E S S E S ■ Friends. Her friends are her biggest weakness. On one occassion it was the threat of harm to one of them that forced her into action. ■ Physical Strength. Not only has Primrose recently had to re-learn to walk, but she also already has a weak physical presence. She is not particularly strong or sturdy and is easy to pick up, throw around, and injure. (Half-Sister) Scarlet is Primrose's half-sister and is her elder by two years. They share the same mother. Prim remembers very little of her (and even that was after great effort), but that is almost to be expected since the last time Prim would have seen her would have been when she was three. They met once more when Primrose was being attacked by a figure from her past and Scarlet shot an arrow through his head before he could drag a nearly bled-to-death Primrose away. It turned out that Scarlet and her manservant Kamui had been tracking Prim for years and had finally found her days prior, choosing to watch her carefully before making a move to approach her. The situation obviously changed, which made Primrose's introduction to her sister quite jarring. Their personalities are worlds apart and Scarlet's tendency to blatantly hit on Gaspard seems to be one of the only things in the world that can bring out a less than kind side of Primrose. Scarlet seems to do this simply to get under her skin, but does occassionally display a sisterly affection, showing that she has a definite soft spot for Prim. Scarlet currently gives Primrose an "allowance" so that she may take the time she needs to physically and mentally recover from recent events. Aurelia Morningdew, ♥✝●. (Mother) Sharlayan Midlander woman Aurelia Morningdew was previously known as Aurelia Nova and was originally the wife of Khael Nova. Their marriage was not one of love, though she did give birth to Scarlet. She fled her home with her child to help teach Eorzeans Astrologian arts of Sharlayan - an act forbidden for many reasons in her country. During her time in Eorzea, she met Atlas Morningdew and fell in love. She gave birth to Primrose while temporarily back in Sharlayan. She learned of her banishment and left for Eorzea the very same night she delivered. Her actions caused a madness in Khael and he henceforth set after her to destroy her newfound family. Prim remembers very little of her mother other than short clips of memories from a very young age. She remembers her to have been beautiful, determined, a talented astrologian, and a great singer. She remembers that she had golden cascading curls, black eyes, and fair skin. On the night Primrose was taken to the Amalj'aa encampment, Aurelia was murdered in front of her daughters while pregnant with her third child. Atlas Morningdew, ♥✝✔. (Father) Eorzean Half-Duskwight Half-Midlander man Atlas was Primrose's father. He met her mother Aurelia while serving as a guard to her and the other Eorzeans she was training to protect themselves in the struggle against the Garlean Empire. As a paladin, he was sturdy, strong, and protective in nature. Through his duties he fell in love with Aurelia, vowing to keep her and her daughter Scarlet safe. They were soon bound together in the Eorzean Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, effectively married despite her already established loveless arranged marriage to Khael Nova in Sharlayan. To their surprise, they were able to conceive and soon had a daughter - Primrose. Prim remembers him more than she remembers her mother. She was quite fond of him and inherited much from him, including his coloring and personality traits. She remembers him as a tall man of copper skin, white hair, and silver eyes. He had a kind face and loved his wife and children above all. He taught her to be caring, protective, and to never fall victim to inaction. On the night Primrose was taken to the Amalj'aa encampment, Atlas was beheaded in front of his daughter while trying to protect his family from the members of House Nova. NON-FAMILY Killian Waltz, ★$●. (Teacher and Physician) Primrose first met Killian shortly after her release from captivity while she was hanging around Stillfane Glade. She managed to convince him to become her teacher in conjury and began her training immediately. After only a short time did Killian notice the poor condition of her body and he began cooking meals for her every day that she could learn to digest more easily and gain weight over time. They spent time each day together. Primrose has become quite good with conjuration magics under his tutelage and has slowly become his friend as well. She considered him to be a friend much sooner than vice versa, but she did not mind. She was with him through the difficult time directly after his divorce and then again right after having his children taken from his custody. His pain affected her. After that, she put great effort into trying to cheer him up and realize his worth, but unfortunately with the way she was raised she has little to offer in way of material items or skill to create anything useful. She had been helping him to understand what limited shapes and colors he can make out with his new spectacles - having been totally blind before - but it seems he is no longer in need of her assistance. A trip to Thanalan that ended in Layla's death and a difficult decision being made by Killian ended in as close to an argument as Primrose has ever been in and her view of him changed ever so slightly. Killian has taught her to re-evaluate her views of right and wrong to something a little less black and white. Their friendship nearly ended upon her decision to leave The Shroud and she is unsure if she can salvage it at this point. She wanted to share her discoveries of her past with him, but is afraid that he would not care at this point in time. Their views on life and relationships greatly differ and Primrose is trying quite hard to understand where he is coming from. Whereas before Killian was one of the most important people in her life, she is unsure of their current standing. He has recently agreed to teach her to become a doctor for pregnant women and newborns as he is. Gaspard Haurtefert, ♥♥♥✔. (Partner) Gaspard and Primrose first met when the Elezen was found by her in The Twelveswood with an injured hand - all thanks to a squirrel. Having the most basic understanding of conjury was just enough for her to get him healed and after very little convincing, she managed to get Gaspard to agree to helping her become well enough to perform as his bodyguard. While he found this to be silly, it did end up giving her a reason to get healthier sooner. Over the next three or four moons, her feelings of friendship began to turn into feelings of romance. Before long, she confessed her romantic feelings while the pair were in Costa del Sol. Gaspard did not return the sentiment. He did, however, give her a light kiss at her request. Primrose, while a little hurt, knew that this would likely be the case and carried it in stride, continuing on her adventures with her friend. Their journey to Thanalan to attempt to rescue Layla ended in disaster and with the death of mother figure and the temporary falling out with her friend Killian having brought Primrose's spirits down, Gaspard offered her a place to stay with him in his apartment to help. Over the next moon her feelings only increased, and she confessed yet again - once more in Costa del Sol. Gaspard had great difficulty in accepting that anyone could truly care about him in the way she was claiming and initially rejected her outright again, claiming to only see her as a sister. After pushing himself to be honest with his real feelings to a degree, he agreed to try his best to be more open with her. Some time later, Gaspard was injured while Primrose with Killian, their friendship repaired. Despite his attempts to patch himself, his injury clearly needed more attention. Upon discovering said injury, Primrose was very patient and kind, forgiving him before he could even ask for it. Never once reprimanding him. She just healed and smiled. Something changed in Gaspard and he swore to never be dishonest with her again. On their way home, Primrose tricked Gaspard into bending down to see her "new earrings" and with him now level with her face, she kissed him - this time less politely than their first kiss. She broke their kiss and Gaspard asked her to go home without him so that he may take a walk to clear his head. It was not until after being brought to the edge of death that she realized how deep her feelings really were. Collar bone forcibly crushed and a large slash across her chest and shoulder, Primrose called out for Gaspard while being tortured by Farrin - a figure from her past. Angry at her calling out for another man, Farrin burned her knees and the surrounding tissue to the third degree. Unable to walk, unconscious, and nearly bleeding to death she was carried to Stillfane Glade by Gaspard once Farrin had been killed by Scarlet. He blamed himself for not being there to help her, but Prim refused to let him take on that emotional burden willingly. She confessed that her feelings had developed even further. She was in love. She had realized it as she called out his name, as her mind was filled with only thoughts of him when she thought surely she was going to perish. Gaspard still could not return her feelings, though he did return the following sun with gifts and a bouquet of flowers. Despite her many efforts to remain positive, Prim eventually came to the conclusion that her affections were only bringing pain and suffering to her friend. He would say he did not mind her presence, but his hurt when she would speak of her love for him was obvious. He would shrink away from the topic, the effect on him very apparent. Making a brash decision, Primrose pretended to have been lying about her real feelings all along, telling Gaspard that she never loved him and only wanted something physical, but that even that was not worth the effort. This nearly broke her, but she wanted desperately to protect him from any future heartache she felt she would inflict. Seemingly successfully having made him hate her, she disappeared, headed to her homeland witout a word to anyone save for a note to Scarlet revealing that she was leaving and that she had lied to him, admitting that she had been hurt by his willingness to believe she would even be capable of such behavior. Gaspard - having been confronted and brought back to reality by Scarlet and Kamui - found Primrose in Coerthas in a dangerous situation. Gaspard admitted his love for her, telling her that he had been afraid to speak it aloud for some time, partially out of a lack of willingness to confront every feeling he had buried deep inside. Primrose initially tried to push him away, still pretending to have lied about her feelings. Gaspard called her out on her lie and when Primrose refused to leave with him, he told her that if she chose to die there, then he would die with her. Refusing to let him die in vain, she agreed to be taken back. Her reluctance to make a decision quicker and his lack of preparation for the frigid weather due to having departed so quickly led to Gaspard suffering from hypothermia, a still-crippled Primrose curled up by his side in a shack until he was well enough to head home again. After some time together and some discussion, they decided to begin a relationship. They are very dedicated to one another and each want to give the other the world. Through their affections and mutual efforts, they are slowly healing the old wounds in each other and building a happier future together. Q'lin Larksong, ★�. (Guarded Acquaintance) Q'lin and Primrose first met at Killian Waltz's home. Their first interaction was not a pleasant one for Prim and involved some berating from the other woman. Prim's feelings were quite hurt by this interaction, but she has tried not to let it leave a bad taste in her mouth. Since then, their interactions have been mixed. She wants to be kind to Q'lin, but they often end up holding each other arms width apart due to their vast difference in outlook on life and personalities. She does wish the Miqo'te well, but is not sure how best to comfort the woman. She thinks of her sometimes, as Q'lin is currently in the Far East. She has not heard from her in weeks. Bonnebell Arseneaud, ♦✔. (Bubbly Friend) Primrose and Bonnebell first met during a small get together at the apartment Prim shares with Gaspard. Their first interaction was incredibly positive and involved fruit tarts and mutual complimenting. Primrose is thrilled to have met another woman with a similar sunny and caring disposition, though she is very aware that Bonnebell is much more elegant. She hopes to one day soon begin learning to cook and bake under her tutelage, though that may have to be placed on hold given Bonnie's current state. Bonnie's presence is calming for Primrose and she often acts as a buffer between Killian and Prim's recent disagreements. If Bonnie were anyone else, Primrose would most certainly be jealous of her looks and her nature, but instead Prim finds her to be something of a role model and a friend. There will likely be many many many moons of this training. Character Lore Adherence Mostly-Lore Strict ■ Only to make it easy on others, I try to keep my own characters pretty lore-strict. However, that does not mean that your characters have to be. I am always willing to close one eye. I do not like anything too otherwordly just because it would not line up well with her own history and would make group RP hard, which is something done often with Prim lately. But I am always open to discuss if you are unsure if things would work out!
