Primrose Morningdew

Primrose has an unclear past. She was in captivity with an Amaalj'aa tribe for roughly twenty-five cycles. There is mystery behind how she lasted so long without being sacrificed to summon Ifrit or being burned alive so that her ashes may have been used to protect the eggs of their young. She attributes it to the protection and guidance of her mother figure - Layla. Having escaped with Layla's assistance, she fled as far as she possibly could on foot before boarding a merchant's cart - not caring where it was going - until they reached Gridania. The conjurers in Stillfane Glade took her in, but she still had no formal place to stay. She spent her nights in The Twelveswood or in the Inn when she had the coin from small jobs around town. Only a few suns into her new life in Gridania did she meet Gaspard Haurtefert and begin "training" to be his bodyguard, urged on by the idea that Layla would want her to protect someone. In the beginning this training mostly included re-learning how to eat, practicing running, and being shown around new areas by Gaspard until officially ready to act in a protective manner.
During that time she also met Killian Waltz - though his last name was 'De Bayle' at the time - and in him found a teacher of conjury. Though unable to see her, he was able to deduce that she was not eating well and thus took over as her doctor and part-time caretaker of sorts as well so that she may become healthier sooner. Primrose brought these two men together to form a small party to journey to Thanalan, hoping to find the encampment Prim had last been kept at. They were successful, but in the process of getting in managed to indirectly cause Layla's death. In the short moments prior to the Highlander's passing, she explained the smallest bit of Primrose's past - including that she has a sister named 'Scarlet'. Upon attempting to escape, Killian's efforts to bring mercy to the captives left behind led to a falling out with Primrose. In her time away from Killian, she was offered a place to stay in Gaspard's apartment. Though she eventually made up with Killian, she was forced to re-evaluate her ideas of right and wrong to something a little less black and white. Through this, Primrose's feelings for Gaspard became romantic. She confessed, but her feelings were not reciprocated. After a dark figure from her past named Farrin arrived - causing a brutal fight between him, Primrose, and Killian - Primrose was left with fragmented pieces of information on her past and a scarred and crippled body, even after healing from The Fane. During this encounter, Scarlet made an appearance before her sister for the first time when killing Farrin and destroying a seal placed on Primrose by their mother. Prim was left with a new scar on her chest as well as significantly scarred knees. She lost her ability to walk from these injuries for a short period of time. After another confession to Gaspard, Primrose learned of sensitive things from his past that only reinforced her belief that her feelings and presence were only harmful to him. She chose to lie for the very first time in her life. A questionable decision but one she believed in all the same. She made Gaspard believe that her feelings had been a lie, that she had only wanted to trick him into a strictly physical relationship. This effectively crushed him - especially given the tidbits of his past that he had revealed - and he left his apartment to her, saying he never wanted to return. The very next day, Primrose revealed her lie to Killian. She told him she was leaving as well and asked that he would watch over Gaspard. Killian, however, is vehemently opposed to lying and rejected her harshly. She left him on the floor of the apartment with the key. She made an attempt to return to the home her sister's manservant had told her of. Primrose left special mementos and a letter on Scarlet's doorstep, tipping her off to what happened and sending her into a panic. She set out to find Gaspard in his poor mental state and managed to snap him out of it by giving him Prim's letter. Scarlet, Kamui (her manservant), and Gaspard set out after Prim and found her in Coerthas with a cold on her way to her birthplace in the north - Sharlayan. She made it home to The Shroud with a new declaration of love, but it nearly cost Gaspard his life. She is currently very disappointed with herself and searching for ways to make it up to both him and Killian for her actions. These recent experiences have caused her to feel emotions that she has never had to confront before - anger, sadness, jealousy, guilt, self-pity. She has had to cope with the self proclaimed "ugly" way these emotions have caused her to behave and learn to deal with them in a healthy manner without losing the kindness in herself. Equipped with more memories and information thanks to her sister, Primrose is taking time to learn about herself and focus on her relationship with Gaspard until she is ready to move forward with life as it had been. Her goals are roughly the same. Protect Gaspard, learn from Killian, and find out more about her past.
Primrose registers at a meager 4 fulms, 11 ilms - though she is convinced she is a solid 5 fulms - which is rather short for even a Midlander Hyur. Her hair is straight, white as snow, and falls just past her rear. She has heterochromia - or differently colored eyes - with the left eye being black and the right eye being silver. Her build is quite petite and she has only recently begun to recover from extreme malnourishment from her recent captivity, her ribs no longer prominent beneath her tanned skin as they were. Despire her having been underweight, she has always had a well developed bosom. Her waist is tiny, hips small and curved, but she has a practically non-existent butt. A small beauty mark rests at the righthand corner of her mouth that accentuates her perpetual sunny smile. Both of her ears are pierced multiple times, though she generally only wears one earring at a time.
Aspects That Stand Out:
Primrose is essentially a walking ray of sunshine. Though completely oblivious to many things, she generally does not let that stop her from seeing a positive outcome to virtually every situation she is placed in. She is constantly smiling and will happily greet anyone that makes eye contact with her; she has never met a stranger. This cheerful nature comes as a surprise when anyone learns of her past hardships. Despite this radiant positivity, she sometimes gets too caught up in trying to solve her own problems to ask for help along the way. The only time her positivity seems to falter is in regards to herself.
There is a sense of obliviousness to Primrose. She will verbalize every thought she has about a person out loud and in the exact moment she has the thought – but lucky for her and everyone else, her thoughts are typically very sweet and positive. She does not understand taboo subjects. Prejudice against certain races - or bi-racial relationships - makes absolutely no sense to her and she will have none of it. Things like other peoples' perception of the timeline at which life's milestones should happen (branching out on your own, marriage, children, employment choices, etc) do not make sense to her - she believes that when you are ready for such things is between you and The Twelve. Though Layla taught her to read and write as best she could given her limited resources, there are several things that Prim does not understand or cannot read. Physical touch is a major part of the way that Prim communicates. This may pose a problem those individuals that do not like to be touched. If it expressed to her, she will try her best to be respectful, but occassional hand squeezes, knee touches, or hugs may still happen if in an emotional or stressful situation. She does not mean anything by it and merely means to comfort. After several stressful situations - nearly bleeding to death, confessing a one sided love, running away, and then having her love returned - overwhelming new feelings have gotten the best of her and she has developed some anxiety issues. She has caught herself being selfish, self-pitying, defensive, and rude and is horrified at herself for losing her sunny disposition. Her partner has been very good at easing her worries and reviving the positivity in her.
