Qara Hotgo

Qaratai Hotgo (Qara Hotgo'kahkol in-game) is a young courier from an Au Ra Xaela tribe that is all but destroyed. When she lived in Othard, she was responsible for delivering important messages and parcels for her tribe. She would journey on horseback to other tribes, and deliver messages on the battlefield. She rarely took part in direct warfare, but has survived a few skirmishes with those who wanted to stop her delivery. Overall, she is inexperienced. However, she is brave and adaptable.
In the present, she journeys across Eorzea to find lost Hotgo, and supports the peoples of the new home her people may yet find peace in. She is too young and ignorant to know what her future may hold, but she seeks to make a life for herself in the new lands. If there is anything left of the Hotgo tribe, she will find it. She currently works as a Freelance High-priority Courier who will do messenger jobs even the Moogles may not be willing or able to accomplish.
General Appearance
Qara has skin tanned by the sun with hair darker than her scales and horns. Blue highlights in her hair display her spirit color, and her deep red eyes have contrasting blue limbal rings. She is a bit on the tall side for female Auri, but still short compared to the peoples of other races. Scales are abundant on her neck and chin; her genes favoring added protection more than smooth skin. However, the skin on her face can sometimes been seen with markings and smudges of paint. She preserves her tribe's cultural practice of displaying her moods with the use of colorful face paints; each color having a different meaning.
Qara is often shy and quiet despite her job. The most vibrant displays of emotions from the girl are often in the form of her face paint she uses to display her moods. Her reserved personality hides an inner curiosity and desire to be social. She will often find awkward ways to force herself into a social situations -if- she feels safe doing so. In the instance someone gets her to open up, she can be quite talkative and friendly. However, getting her to open up may take time or effort.
While Qara takes her duties and job very seriously, her ability to accept having fun may need encouraging. She is often focused on work, and will not let fear stop her from doing her job. Beyond that, she has much to learn.
Qara was never expected to be a warrior. But the danger of her job made it necessary for her family to train her in sword combat. She has trained with the use of one and two-handed swords since childhood, so she knows how to fight with them well enough, but has been involved in very few fights.
She may need a mentor to advance her training.

- Priest of the Twelve: “She does not believe in the Twelve. It is a wonder that they have not given her a holy smiting!”
