Qhora runs a sort of solo racket in Ul'dah's black market. She specializes in handling tasks the more moral populace won't touch, mainly "finding" objects that have found themselves in someone else's possession. She'll work for the highest bidder and has more than once found herself getting paid multiple times to retrieve the same item from various people in sequence. Sometimes her work requires information gathering, taking her to places she wouldn't otherwise show herself. For those who can afford it, she also works as an assassin, though she keeps this work lower profile than her penchant for theft.

Qhora has found herself in an odd place. QhoraTiny.jpg

Qhora has found herself in an odd place. Stifled under unrelenting rage and a growing conscience provoking her to change her life, she decided to abandon the people she knew and strike out on her own. She's had less than the best of luck so far, but she's not without hope for something better, something different.

  • Style: Qhora takes her cues from Limsa Lominsa's rogues with whom she worked for a time before moving back to Ul'dah.
  • Strengths: She's fast and tough. She can take a smack and get up and keep fighting, with a tenacity belied by her relatively small frame.
  • Weaknesses: She has a sort of endurance, but she doesn't have outright strength. If she can't get mobile in order to get in a lot of fast hits in specific weak points, she's in a tough situation.

Relationships

Qhoraharrumph.jpg

Family

She says she's an orphan, but people who've heard her get angry or slip up and discuss her past may have noted that she harbors a lot of family-related hatred right up front, which doesn't exactly fit with someone who's never known her family.

She also claims to be the sole survivor of a less than successful Ul'dahn street gang who operated before the Calamity.

Other Characters

( = Trusted, = Positive, ● = Neutral, = Negative, ≈ = Complicated )

Sindl Arahn ( ≈ )

Qhora clings to Sindl like she's drowning and he's a life preserver at the center of a landless sea, like he's the only thing keeping her alive. What exactly is going on between them is difficult to determine as both avoid the subject and neither are above lying about it, but the fact that there's something is hard to miss. She sees past his friendly exterior to something harder at his core that she relies on and needs to be around.

M'sato Tia ( ● )

One of the few people she's met that hasn't immediately earned her hatred, she initially respected M'sato's sharp, vicious wit and angry attitude. The more she learned about him, the more that fell apart. The result is a difficult balance between admiration of the venomous exterior he's often shown in front of her and outright hatred of what she sees to be his soft, weak core that comes forward in quieter moments. In that sense, she sees him as Sindl's opposite.

Kai'ir Bajihri ( )

Qhora wants to not hate Kai'ir, and tries to cheer him on when he's attempting to extricate himself from lady problems, but she finds the way he constantly gets into lady problems so weak and pathetic that she wishes he'd just jump off a bridge so he'd at least have a problem that didn't involve ladies for once. No, they're not related.

Rumors

Common Rumors

(Easily overheard)

  • Oh, her. Yeah, she'll track things down for cash. Not the only one, but it can't hurt if you're desperate. - Shady Dunesfolk
  • Didn't she used to camp out on the Grindstone rock when Sindl was running the show? - Enthusiastic Hyur Fighter
  • I swear she only smiles when something horrible happens to someone else. - Unpleasant Seeker

Rare Rumors

(Difficult or rarely overheard)

  • I remember a girl with that name from years ago. Didn't she have red hair and pale skin? Must be someone else. - Curious Lalafell Merchant
  • She looks really familiar. She didn't have facepaint or a scar, but other than that, I swear I saw her around before. Is she Coeurlclaw? Those mooncats all look the same after a while. - Suspicious Wood Wailer

History

Lighthouseqhora.jpg

After the Calamity

The way Qhora tells it, she was part of a gang of scrappy street urchins who ran certain corners of Ul'dah before the Calamity. Despite surviving, the gang ended up getting wiped out by rivals in an extended conflict over territory. Some people remember the gang, but no one from Uldah in those years seems to remember her.

After losing all her friends, she decided to try and turn her life around by learning to be a healer and traveling around the world helping people. The more she traveled, the more she loved learning. She would beg lessons on almost anything from any trainer who would take her, trading everything she'd earned, as well as doing chores and running errands in exchange. As a result, she gained a base competence in a wide variety of skills - academic, martial, and practical. Her favorites were arcanistry focusing on healing, archery, and cooking, especially preparing fish.

Her story gets especially murky about a year ago. She avoids talking about what happened then, but people who saw her during that time might know she was seen in and around the Shroud.

She resurfaced in Limsa Lominsa, hiding among the rogues there.

Grim Echo

How Qhora came into contact with Sindl Arahn is unclear, but it was obvious from early on that he was the only reason she had anything to do with the Grim Echo company. She frequently expressed confusion and discontent at the way the group seemed to actively hinder what were supposedly its own goals. When Sindl stepped back from the Company for a time, Qhora also disappeared.

In recent months, she's left the Company behind to strike out into new territory, but she keeps in contact with Sindl, if not anyone else from the group.
