Devastated, Ael left the tribe with the rise of the Calamity, taking to Mor Dhona with the rest of the refugees. Despite being only thirteen, she danced to entertain those that cared to watch, doing so for food or temporary shelter. Despite the fact that she didn't enjoy monster hunting, she was pleased to have the extra income.

It worked, for awhile. Since all she did was dance, she didn't make near as much as the other girls at the club and the money she was making from Ebonbrand was just enough to pay for Geoff's treatment. But... then he got worse, so when a chance encounter with a man by the name of J'aran Tia - who she later learned was truly named Aran Sutorei - came about, she was both eager and excited while agreeing to his business proposal.

With all of her attention turned to Gilded Pony, she inevitably left Ebonbrand and Nero behind.

Various ups and downs stemmed from owning and running your own business, though the major issue Ael found was that- the more time she spent on the club, the less time she could spend on her tek. Aran, a Doman from Othard - and thus highly against tek in its entirety - felt that it was for the best.

A cycle or so into her knowing Aran she was brought into the folds of his true intentions, Moirae - a resistance cell that was displaced from Doma, trying to bolster interest on foreign soil. Ael joined, though she knew she was only doing it for Aran's benefit. She wanted to be with him, and that was only possible if they shared the same goal.

Many ill-fated encounters stemmed from her spending time with Aran, the worst being one by a man named Reinhard Brand. He took a special interest in Ael since she was both Aran's and young. He threatened to expose Aran and Moirae. In exchange for his silence, he demanded Ael- to which the deal was struck. In the end, Aran helped Ael to kill the man after a showdown at his place, though the death was never confirmed.

She spent time with Geoff shortly after, his old age and somewhat maintained sickness causing her to worry about his health. It was while she was there that he was attacked. Geoff and his Lalafell live-in nurse were murdered, Ael taken by Garlean forces. While she thought the attack was due to Moirae, it ended up being in relation to Geoff- knowledge she didn't have, and thus couldn't offer up.

Aran and a team of Moirae came for her and several other prisoners, though she'll never forget the dark days spent in the three-by-three cell. Nor what happened. What she heard. She dove into her work and into her relationship with Aran, attempting to build them both back up to get her mind off of the bad.

They married in the summer, just before her nameday, and spent a few moons excavating in Azyz Lla, travelling through Ishgard, and leaving the troubles of the world behind them. Though it was too good to last. No sooner than they returned did Aran get a summons to Othard, the leader of Moirae was needed to speak allegiance between the people.

Heavy hearted they parted ways, Aran leaving her with hollow promises of return and approval to see other people. Ael turned to a life of indulgence, turning to a career in adult modelling. It was around this time that she began to date her doctor (Julius), one of the manager's of the junkyard Geoff left to her (Quinn), and the owner of the magazine she modelled for (Arty).

Eventually, she shut the doors to Gilded Pony and began to focus her free time on her tek and training in Ninjitsu - which Aran had begun showing her prior to his leaving, and that her own people had a bastardised version of. It was her belief that if she became strong enough she'd be able to find her way across the sea and aid Aran in his quest to liberate his homeland.

Realising that she was driving everyone away, she eased up on the training and took to opening up a new shop - Scrap Cat's Customs - where she set up a mammot to sell her wares. Pouring much of her remaining resources into the shop she designed the TEKNICAT brand, products rangings from cybernetics to tablets that sync to your linkpearls that allows the user to send pictures and textual messages opposed to verbal ones. Despite the success of her shop she still felt the ache, missing Aran, and set her sights on Othard. During this time the Nunhs of the Viper Exiles within La Noscea agreed that, due to Ael's Seer abilities, she should be their Chief- a mantle to which she agreed, in order to bring modernisation and traditionalism and make them one within the tribe.

Sinking the last bit of her money, and pulling in every favour owed to her, she managed passage on a merchant ship to Kugane where she was held up for much longer than she ever cares to admit. It was by a stroke of luck, a member of Moirae on a supply run and spotting her dancing on the streets, that she was able to find her way to Doma- and thus Aran.

Her time spent on the resistance frontlines was long and tiresome, and not without heartbreak, but in the end, she came home with her husband and her brother - who showed up of his own volition a moon after she arrived - and they came home victorious. That's enough for her. With the battle behind her she's set her sights on re-opening the doors of Gilded Pony and re-building that family atmosphere she lost when the doors closed.
