That night, the mourning man was visited by a giant, monstrous, horned beast. It rushed them like rolls of silent storm clouds, ominous and destructive. The father blocked his child and yelled, "Oh, great demon! Have you a heart, you will leave us! Leave us to the cruelty of the sands, great demon!" The demon banished his words, rushing its powerful horn tip clean through the man's gut. His ragdoll body was high to the sky. The horn gleaming and sleek with blood of the man. Still, he moved. The hoisted man used his claws to gauge the eye of the beast out and consume it. The beast released high pitched, prolonged screams and cries of agony. In a frenzy of pain, it slung the man off his crimson horn. There they lay, bloodied and near death. A beast cried for the mercy he refused to give, mourning his lost eye. "Sunchild," he wailed, "my sight! I cannot see! Please, I will grant you one wish, warrior, in exchange for my vision." The man obliged his offer with one of his own. "Stick your mighty horn in my stomach, beast. I will have my people worship you, then. Only then will you grow your eye back." The monster did just that. The horn slid back into the man's stomach, only to be snapped off and left inside. "They will worship the endurance of Rhino, Miqo'te." The God commanded, vanishing in back into the clouds from which he came.
Rhino is a very peculiar tribe because of how secluded they kept themselves. Even though they're a two letter tribe, they refused to make many lasting connections to neighboring tribes in Sagolii. They're commonly known for talking in a different tongue when around each other. It was normal for their children to not speak Eorzean until mastering their own tribe's tongue.
Rhino is now a dead tribe, as they fell victim to a viscous genocide. Their homes were raided, burned to the ground, and his people were slaughtered. The cause is still unknown to this day. Everything about the Rhino tribe is forgotten in the sands, and there's nothing to remember them by due to their absence of written documentation. Just like the mighty Rhino, their existence rolled back into the clouds...
