Character

Personality

S'aexis, or "Aexis" as he allows himself to be called by the "People of the Walls", is "approachable" if not overtly friendly, as he suffers from shyness around strangers. He tends to be very polite in his efforts to avoid offending folks whose ways he is unfamiliar. He has a great deal of difficulty walking away from someone (or in many cases some-"thing") that is in distress or injured, unless of course...he was the cause of the distress. At times he can be quite impulsive, but once his path is set, he analyzes tasks with surprising forethought and detail before relentlessly pursuing his goal.

And like all his kindred of the Sunchaser sept, he considers it a "holy obligation" to personally un-hide every amal'jaa that dares step "Beneath the Sun on Desert Sand".

Appearance

S'aexis looks to be barely into his twenties, a Seeker of the Sun born to the nomadic desert Sunchaser sept of the Zu tribe, his skin is darkly copper-toned, hair is silver-white with bluish highlights. He prefers light informal clothing when not in armor, and really hates confining or "frilly" oufits.

Religious Beliefs

Typical of the people of his Sept, S'aexis is an intense devotee to Azeyma, Mother to the Five Prides who Chase the Sun. As it was his family's duty to protect the ritual grounds and tribal artifacts, Aexis' significant religious exposure in addition to his martial training is evident in his patterns of behavior, from prayers at sunrise, to how he tends to his equipment each evening. Yet as devoted as he is to the Sun Goddess, he is both tolerant and appreciative of lessons regarding any of the twelve from those devoted to their service.

Childhood

Before the invasion and cataclysm, Aexis' early upbringing was nothing out of the ordinary for those of his tribe. He is the second born son of the sept Hetman, with an older brother currently leading the sept while his sire serves on the tribal council. Of the child Aexis, it was said the you could "see his soul through those big violet eyes", as all of his emotions were easily visible, and the strongest of those was empathy. For a time as his tribe struggled to recover from the cataclysm, there was a concern that he might reject the warrior's craft in favor of the healer's arts, so sorely were they needed to mend the damage of their forced evacuation from the lands in Mor'Dhona where they originally settled. But having witnessed firsthand the destruction caused by the recent events, Aexis' passions can become mercurial... suddenly shifting from reticent cub to stalking panther, when those he cares for are threatened with harm.

Combat

General

Initially trained as all his sept to be lightly armed and armored desert raiders of Amal'jaa desert encampments, S'aexis later was permitted to journey to the walled city of Ul'dah, where he improved his desert combat under the Pugilists, learned heavy combat from the Gladiators, later refined his skills under the Knights of the Twelve. In the "Garden City", S'aexis expanded his healing and protective spellcraft, combining both arms and spells under the Path of the Paladins.

When it comes to combat, S'aexis will quickly size up his foes, and carve a way towards the leader, doing his best to insure that enemies cannot fold upon his allies behind him. He will keep an eye on his companions, offering what protective and healing arts he can spare while focusing on his immediate foes, even if it means he might at times leave himself momentarily open for injury.

• Hunting amal'jaa to "collect their rings"! After all, Holy Azeyma made the Sunchasers for just that purpose!
• Dangling his feet in lakewater, and swimming naked!...with fish! (you just dont want to ask).
• Exchanging stories with other tribal miqo'te.

• Runing out of Amal'jaa! They really need to breed faster!

• Working on the book "A thousand and one things to craft with Amal'jaa-hide"

• Researching the spell to conjure amal'jaa on demand!

S'aexis has been recently selected to take charge of the Wayfinders of the Sun and Moon, an inter-tribal Council (Free Company) administered by members of the Zu tribe to carry communications between the various tribal councils, insuring some degree of unity between the miqo'te tribal cultures despite impediments imposed by distance and regional adaptations.

Friends

There are a few among the People of the Walls that S'aexis regards as friends, and for those he would shed his last drop of blood. Most others he regards as acquaintances, treating them with kindness, curtesy and respect.

Enemies

S'aexis honestly does not know of any enemies. As far as the Amal'jaa are concerned, in S'aexis' mind "prey" is a far different word from "enemy".
