Relatively untouched by the constant pull-and-suck of conflict, she is a cheerful slip of a girl, prone to bouts of mischief and pranks, though for the sake of propriety she limits them to her immediate circle of friends and family. Shion carries herself with a coltish grace, with manners enough to squeak by for most occasions. Her light-hearted manner and slightly ungrammatical way of speaking belie an occasionally dry sort of humour. Direct enough in speech and quick to snap, she is nevertheless also quick to apologise. Appearance Best summarised as a black-haired, golden-eyed tiny anger ball, Shion tops out at a little over five fulms and two ilms, and a sleekly muscled 120 or so ponze of Raen. Years of running wild in the Shroud, climbing trees, hunting, hauling wood and honing her woodworking skills have left her with calloused fingers and more strength than is apparent in her slim frame at first glance. Like all Auri, scales adorn her pale skin, encircling her neck down to her chest. A similar pattern of scales wraps around her upper arms. At her back, more scales march down her spine and wrap around the backs of her hips, branching down the outside of her thighs. A long tail tipped with five spikes and two wide, wing-like fins cap off the ensemble. History Born to a family of woodworkers, Shion was a troublemaker from the moment she could toddle and hold something in her small fist. Shion Nikki had neither patience nor restraint, and after she had all but murdered one of the local bullies, she was sent away to her uncle to learn the art of woodworking and patience, and to spare her family the constant frustration and embarrassment of having to explain their daughter's actions. Shion grew to adore her uncle, a large man with an even larger personality and a belly-laugh that seemed to shake any dwelling her was in. Under his tutelage, Shion became proficient in the manufacture of delicately carved wooden items; beads, figurines, decorative panels and boxes were among her favourite items to create. Uncle eventually taught her more than just his craft - he also taught her some basic survival techniques and hunting skills, and after he was bitten by his wanderlust, he took Shion with him on his travels, eventually bringing her to Thanalan. But the great city-state of Ul'dah was not a place he wanted Shion to spend most of her time in, and he sent her along to a friend of his that lived in The Shroud.
