Sigue Valtier (Seeg Valt-ee-air) is a player character in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, presently on the Balmung server.
A Duskwight Elezen of Ishgardian citizenship. He was a knight in service of House Durendaire, and is presently known as a traveling blacksmith. He was alive during The Calamity in 1572, five years prior to the events of the game, but was not involved in The Battle of Carteneau.
Appearance
Tall even by Elezen standards, Sigue appears as an imposing figure at first glance, superbly conditioned muscles lining his frame beneath heavy armor. However, he still maintains the lithe body structure typical of his kind. His skin bears a slight earthen tan, and is lined with several scars, with a prominent scar reaching from the bridge of his nose and along his left cheek. Upon his right cheek lies an intricate golden mark resembling a tattoo. It passes through his eye and continues past his brow. His left eye is a metallic silver in color, but his right eye resembles the same warm golden tone as the marking on his face. His hair takes on deep navy hues and is often worn with little regard for its style.
Sigue is most often seen wearing heavy, worn suits of armor crafted specifically to maximize protection and mobility. However, he is occasionally seen in casual attire consisting of light, loosely fitted clothing.
Personality
Sigue is an often taciturn and introverted individual. He is a man of fewer words, and may occasionally express some reservation, but his travels and associations across Eorzea have made him more able to assert himself in conversation. Neither boastfully arrogant nor falsely modest, Sigue is an individual who knows his limits and capabilities. He has witnessed the ugliness of humankind numerous times, and his experiences have taught him much. No longer moved by the swells of perceived drama, he tends to favor the simple facets of life. He values the kindness of a passerby, and finds beauty in even the most simple of trifles. He's an understanding and good-natured person, but he is also capable of making hard-but-necessary decisions.
Skills
- He is highly skilled in close-range combat. He wields heavy weaponry as if they are simply extensions of himself, and is also very proficient in martial arts.
- Considered blessed by his patron guardian, Sigue has the unusual ability to temporarily accelerate his physical and mental speed. This ability surpasses the capabilities of the body, and excessive use can lead to quick fatigue or self-inflicted injury.
- As a Duskwight Elezen, he has exceptionally good hearing.
- While not particularly talented in the magical arts, he has taught himself a limited amount of restorative magic for the sake of practicality.
- His combat skill has given him an exceptionally keen sense for the arts of blacksmithing and armorsmithing, and he has taken these professions up as his own.
- He is familiar with various metals and alloys. This knowledge proves beneficial to him when mining for materials for his work.
- While he is a decent cook, he often prefers to try the local cuisine of the lands he passes through.

History
As a knight in service to House Durendaire, Sigue has lived in the snowy region of Coerthas for as long as he can remember. Possessing a natural talent for combat, it was simply a matter of course that he take to the battlefield. He was an active participiant in the holy wars against the sentient dragons threatening the prosperity of Ishgard, and has saved as many lives as those he has slain in his bloody career. Little information surrounds the Elezen past his career history in Ishgard, and it is unknown as to why he has in recent times taken leave from active duty. He has recently been seen traveling Eorzea as an exceptionally skilled blacksmith, but it seems the majority of his work is that of a mercenary. During the same general time periods, he has appeared in various war zones specifically where combat is at its fiercest, selling his skills for a bit of gil.
