====Notes to Self/Overview of Khai's History====

Khai is a drunk, bastard son of a man labled a traitor and chased from his tribe.

As a general rule, Khai tries to push people away by 'trying too hard' and generally being an ass.

He's actually a sad, caring 30-something traumatized by war and cataclysm.

Well, his father was accused of helping a beastmen tribe attack theirs, which decimated the population; his father left and roamed the Sagolii desert for five years, eventually picking up two women who were also outcast from their tribe. They settled in the Sea of Spires, started their own tribe; five kids later, and another outcast tagalong, and Khai spends a large portion of his youth raising his brothers and sisters while his mothers hunt and his father is, uh, well, a lazy ass.

His father actually cares deeply, if he's still alive, though Khai knows very little about his father's history in the S' tribe

He will eventually try and go back, but the sept was all of nine strong when he left, and half were children.

And then the Calamity and the Battle of Cartineau happened. Most, of not all, of his family were killed when Dalamud fell. >:

Khai sits in pubs and when people ask where his tribe is ( as he refers to himself by the title Nunh, which is a breeding male/tribal leader) he just insists he has, like, 20 bitches in the desert and it's all good. He lies his face off because he's too cowardly to admit that he left because he didn't want to be a caretaker; he wanted to be strong and independant.

Despite the fact that he's the perfect fucking mommy figure, at least inwardly.

That part of his story arch [regarding returning 'home', or rather to what remains of it]  will come when the Sea of Spires, or what remains of it, has been reintroduced to the game.

It's also worth noting that he fled the Batyle of Cartineau; as Meteor came close to collission, Khai couldn't keep himself together. The sight of so many dead bodies, and the feelings of worthlessness - he believed thay nothing he could do would make any difference. He turned tail and ran, and because of that is sort of in a weird purgatory between 'joe blow' and 'warrior of lught'.
