Overview

Theronault is a young Wildwood, raised by an elderly apothecary somewhere in the North Shroud. He is quiet and worries easily, but cares a lot about the well-being of those around him. He is currently taking a break from his studies at the conjurers’ guild to travel.

Appearance

Standing at 7 fulms, Theronault strikes an unimpressively gangly figure, being neither built nor trained for any real physical activity. Despite his face consisting mostly of nose, his features are a feminine enough blend of sharp and soft that the easiest way of identifying him as male is his height.

Having spent a not insignificant part of his youth (so far) either roaming the Shroud or kneeling in a garden, he has a healthy tan and a seemingly permanent spray of freckles across his face. His hair is blonde, and usually kept in a messy ponytail that is far more carefully maintained that it might seem, and his amber eyes are often covered by a round pair of reading glasses as the elezen is quite far-sighted.

He has a somewhat strange taste in clothing, mixing big, comfortable shirts and various knitted items with tight trousers and elegant impractical shoes when at all possible. It’s not uncommon to see him attaching various flowers to his hair as decoration, and he wears a lot of rings and other assorted pieces of jewelry featuring various rocks, gems, feathers, and colourful pieces of glass - all of which have some (usually superstitious) purpose. However, this habit has been on the decline after his leaving the Shroud.

Personality

Theronault is more soft-spoken and shy than one would expect of a relatively confident young man. While he is visibly uncomfortable around strangers, in crowds, and in big open spaces, he is far more mellow in private, despite a tendency to over-worry. He does, possibly, attempt to come across as a little more eternally calm and forgiving than he actually is; it is quite possible to test his patience, especially by being dismissive towards religion, superstition, or magic (the three seem to blend together for him at times). Any dislike toward anyone, however, is usually based on personal matters rather than any prejudice. Having been raised in a fairly morally simple environment, not ever really witnessing any clashes of faith, clans, or ideals, Theronault still holds a somewhat black and white world-view, judging people as almost entirely good or bad based on their actions, with very little in-between. These beliefs have recently been challenged by his friendship with a Duskwight who skirts the moral greys.

Backstory (WIP)

Theronault’s childhood was primarily shaped by the untimely death of his mother, Gwenaëlle, a young Gridanian cook whose ‘definitely just a friend’ had left almost immediately when she revealed that she was pregnant - her thoughts on this were never known to anyone, as she refused to speak of the man from that day. She had always been a relatively small and dainty Elezen, and childbirth was predictably difficult for her, though this had been anticipated by herself and the people around her and prepared for accordingly, ensuring her survival. She was, however, left even frailer than before, and during the next years, she would spend more and more time bedridden from various illnesses, until she passed away.

As Gwenaëlle had no family, six-year-old Theronault from then on stayed with Floriant Duboix, an old friend of her grandparents, whose small apothecary hut in the North Shroud Theronault had often spent time at when Gwenaëlle had been too ill to take care of him.

From then on, Floriant, himself without family, raised the boy - not quite as a son, but something close to it. Aside from a bit of distance between the two, and the already quiet child withdrawing further while attempting to understand his mother’s passing, they got along well, and Theronault soon started volunteering to help around the apothecary, drawn out primarily by doting customers who always seemed to have a sweet or a few encouraging words for ‘the poor thing’.

Stances on RP: I personally prefer some degree of lore-compliance in RP, though I’m still learning myself and wouldn’t get on anyone’s case for having different taste in that department. The characters I usually play, including this one, are rarely suited for heavy action, and while I appreciate big action-y adventures, my preferred RP environment is more laid-back. I am firm believer of OOC communication; when in doubt, a /tell or two can spare everyone a lot of grief.

Relationships: Aside from romance and erp, I’m down for pretty much any IC relationships.

RP combat and injuries: Non-fatal injuries are usually fine; death or dismemberment needs explicit permission.
