Appearance

Leon is a male Keeper of the Moon. He is generally shorter than the rest of his kind. Often times Leon is lean of body build, not very wide shoulders, small, narrow hands and slim physique. He is generally fairly pale if no albino in colder climates. Leon's natural hair color is an icy white-blue color. His eye color is scarlet red, a rare trait among most races, referencing his ancestry. His voice carries a soft Sharlayan accent with it akin to real-life British English. He is mostly hairless save for a patch on his chest, between the pectorals that shows when wearing certain armors.

Personality

Leon is often fairly calm and soft-spoken, he prefers to avoid open conflict where possible. Often times Leon can be cold, snobbish and sometimes outright obnoxious. However, these moments of harsh, cold obnoxiousness are not intentional most of the time but a product of his "Reason and Logic" train of thought, as to say, seeing everything in a more rational way than a sentimental way (ex: If he brings up an argument from the past, to him it's over and done - no more emotion added to it or it's mention). Leon tends to have a "dangerously liberal" view on magick and it's uses, believing magick nothing more than a tool. He has a natural instinct to help people through this arcane mastery but often finds people distrust his motives when he means well. Leon can be quite zealous about knowledge, believing it more precious than gold, this includes magicks - both forbidden and not so, he will stop at nothing to learn something new.

Aside from the mage-aspect of him Leon can be quite a Casanova. Often he is promiscuous and hedonistic, enjoying the company of good looking men and women both in the bedroom and outside. His views on morality however when not related to sex or magick are quite stern with a strict code of right or wrong. If Leon views a person to be in the wrong he will explain to them why he believes they are wrong. He is quite playful and flirtatious around others and often times pulls pranks related to his magickal prowess. Despite this however, Leon is an "introversial snail", he conceals the pain, the hurt and the ugly within himself, playing the role of sagely wizard, or reckless mage without hardly expressing his true humanity. He is prone to bouts of depression and anxiety, anxiety particularly relating to relationships, for his biggest fear is betrayal. However, to the few who can either peak his interest high enough, or work with his emotional roller coaster - he is a loyal man, dedicated to those he befriends. If a character is also a scholar of magick or "liberal-minded" like he, he will nerd out with them very hard, this includes: Magitek, Ancient Magick, History and Arcane Theory.

Story

Leon was born in the "Old World" of Sharlayan to two Keepers who had forsaken their clan years prior to the events of Final Fantasy XIV. His father's genetic trait of red, scarlet eyes passed onto his son who was named "Brave". The reason for his naming being that his pregnancy was not an easy one, and Leon almost died when the umbilical chord wrapped around his neck in the womb. By divine luck the baby Miqo'te survived infancy but despite his stroke of luck was always a weak and sickly child. His body was naturally lean and in his younger years he could eat like a boar and maintain the look of a living skeleton. As is often the case when someone is different, he was mocked. His lack of physical strength made him a target for the ego complex of those bullies who were stronger than he. For this reason Leon drew an introverts shell at a young age. Until the age of thirteen when it was discovered he was a natural prodigy in magick. One afternoon, on the 21rst of the First Umbral Moon he became so fed up of his oppressors that when one tried to beat him up Leon responded with a Fire 1 spell, sending his attacker off and leaving all else to awe. From then on, he was trained in Sharlayan's magick. On the other hand, Leon was never satisfied knowing just one set of spells, one magick from one civilization. With the fire's of youth burning in his soul the young Archmage-to-be waited for his moment, to whisk away from Sharlayan and learn more, explore more and uncover more. When the antics of Legatus Nael Van Darnus were discovered, his intentions to bring the lesser moon: Dalamud crashing to Eorzea Leon's rational mind kicked in. The collision of planetary bodies would have affected beyond the four city-states, thus he his chance at escape from the Old World was made possible! Leon made his way to the forest nation of Gridania, and set up his secondary home there.

The Conjurers Guild were distrustful of someone so gleeful and delighted by destructive magicks however. On the contrary though, despite their unrest Leon was obsessed with them, he wanted to learn more about the Conjurers and the legendary White Mages, a trend he'd follow with all spellcasters. When the Seventh Umbral Calamity was unleashed by Bahamut's fiery rage Leon was terrified, believing the world was nigh and being so far from home he was overcome with guilt at leaving Sharlayan in the belief he and his family were to die soon. Surviving the Umbral Calamity however did not ease his mind. Seeing the destruction the Elder Primal unleashed on Eorzea Leon had made a new goal to himself: Never again would he let madmen like Nael Van Darnus come to rise. Now, was this to say one Mage could've prevented this catastrophe, no. Rather, Leon bore the philosophy that powerful magick is needed to combat powerful enemies. Thus, his descent into the wizarding world of the arcane intensified triple fold...

The next mind shattering event for him came when the Crystal Tower had glowered it's crystalline visage over Mor Dhona once again. Prefering death over shirking the opportunity for such a stunning feat he practically threw himself onto the Sons of Saint Coinach's expedition to unearth it's secrets through begging, lots of persuasion and a bit of bribery on the side. It was there, he met a few friends from the adventurers who accompanied him into the Tower's beauty. The Tower in all of it's beauty, it's glory and pristine features made the Mage's heart melt in joy. However, with the revelation of Ancient Allag's fall and Xande's insanity things took a more somber turn. Trusting himself to NOAHs party he made the heroic venture into the World of Darkness. Some time later, when G'raha Tia made known his plans to reseal the Tower, and the revelation of Princess Salina's last wish Leon was stunned with horror - did G'raha mean to lock this beauty off again? Confusion aside, when the doors to the Syrcus Tower slammed shut for what he knew could be another five-thousand years Leon's heart broke. However, the message of Salina's wish kept hounding his mind...plaguing him. Finally, after thought he relented to his consciousness and devoted himself to that wish: to create an Allag without the sins of it's forefathers. To that end he took up the magick of Summoning, the prototypical recreation of Allagan sorcery under the Sons of Saint Coinach. To realize this wish, ancient knowledge need be acquired and expanded upon...
