Vehn of the Vulture Tribe and son of the Kafkah family was born into wealth and insignificance, he was the thirteenth son of a wealthy business man and founder of a Private Construction Company that profited greatly in the years after the Calamity. With little chance of achieving prominence among his own blood Vehn has ventured beyond the walls of Ul'dah in search of knowledge and information that could elevate him above his twelve brothers and sisters in the eyes of his father. This journey of discovery however has taken a dark turn, as his research has begun to guide him towards the magic that was behind Meteorfall, and he has developed a fascination with the ill perceived art of Destruction. For it was such Magic that brought the ruin that ultimately led to his family's success, the knowledge to recreate such a feat should be at least be known to study, power is its own rewards after all.

Personality

Vehn is a bit of an elitist and snob, having been raised in an upper class family with a constant need to prove himself he has somewhat adopted the persona of the people his father would most frequently have over for business meetings and the like. Outwardly, he talks down to people, frequently name drops his family's company and wealth and makes snide remarks about people he considers to be his lesser. He dislikes people who seem to be more successful than him or at least claim to be, and often feels he has to showboat his success at them when around others.

Inwardly however he only dons this facade to hide his insecurities and feelings of inadequacy towards his family. If not for the pressure he puts himself under Vehn would like nothing more then to spend his time at the Gold Saucer being the kid he never let himself be and perhaps finally connecting with people, though he is awhile away from doing any of that. He secretly collects Triple Triad Cards with a passion and has a cat named Lunchbox which he keeps hidden, reflecting his somewhat less prickish side.

He has a genuine interest in the study of Black Magic, having always been the physically weakest of his family the idea of having power through knowledge exhilarates him, and like a drug he craves more. He hides this side to himself though and presents himself as a persistent scholar.
