Character
History
V'vehn was raised within the vast deserts of Ul'dah, scavenging the wastes along with the other members of his tribe. Since his early youth he knew that the life of the average Miqo'te wasn't for him and once he became of age he left his tribe for greater ambitions. During his late teens Vehn spent his life on the back of chocobo carriages moving from settlement to settlement taking odd jobs here and there. It was only at the age of twenty did he find himself working as a receptionist for the Thaumaturgist Guild, which is where he became intrigued with the Dark Art. Seeing the ability to gain power from knowledge, Vehn pleaded with the Guildmaster to take him under study and after a year of persistence he was finally initiated into the fold, quickly becoming adept at the art. Now he seeks to bolster his abilities and build a name for himself, having heard of some Free Companies fostering researchers and the like he has set off now at the age of twenty-two to find work under such an organization. Still young with a whole world to experience: his history- and story has just begun to be written.
Appearance
Vehn has tanned skin from living under the constant beat of the Ul'dah sun for most of his life, as well as marine blue eyes and long, black flowing hair. While in his youth he would often wear desert friendly rags like the rest of his kin, now that he is moderately wealthy he cant help but spend the gil on finer things like nice clothes and jewelery, and thus can normally be seen wearing fine custom tailored outfits. He is short sighted, which is a bad thing especially for a Thaumaturgist and so he wears rounded spectacles most of the time.
Personality
Vehn is an awkward individual and unique amongst his tribe. While others of his kin were playing rough sneaking liquor in there youth, Vehn amassed a precious gem collection and talked to cats. While others scoffed down there food greedily, Vehn delicately picked at his meal as if he was weary of what was within. He is high strung and likes the finer things in life now that he has tasted them and doesn't look back at his past with his tribe all that fondly. He respects manners and can be quite off put to others who are not so mannerly. He is picky about his food and who he spends time with, and prefers to be alone most days. He puts forward a demeanour of friendliness but can become quite tired of a person if you test his patience- he will not become rude towards people that annoy him however, instead he will find a polite excuse to leave. He has a soft spots for cats and other small animals and has a pet cat named Lunchbox which he keeps in his backpack. Reflected by his collections of minerals as a kid, he enjoys collecting things and thusly has become an avid fan of Triple Triad, leading to him spending a great deal of time at tournaments within the Gold Saucer, he seldom speaks of his hobbies though.
