Aldric Strong
Aldric Strong is a boisterous sailor with an affinity for booze, brawling and woman. A stout Highlander standing at around 6'3 and weighing in at about 210 ponze, Aldric is still in relatively good shape despite his ever-increasing age. His thick (rather barbaric) brown hair is loosely braided in some areas and left to hang in others, while his prized mustache isn't groomed at all. Aldric is bestowed with blunt facial features and in general would be considered ugly though some declare him roguishly handsome. Often garbed in loose, flowing clothing and a frankly ridiculous amount of jewels and other bobbles, Aldric is a bit of a wild card.
A rogue at heart, Aldric is chock full or thoughtful stories and lessons learned from his extensive time at sea and thoroughly enjoys teaching those younger than himself about such things. From sailing to fighting and everything in between, Aldric has seen much in his lifetime and often has a thoughtful comment regarding the situation at hand. His brusque and up-front personality meshes well with other people of his ilk and antagonizes those of a more refined sentiment. He dotes his language with various curses and sailor slang and his Limsa accent does nothing to alleviate such language.
Common Appearance: Aldric is a rough individual, in both how he dresses and acts. His skin is rather tanned, denoting a lifetime spent under the harsh sun. Broad and large, Aldric is a typical Highlander in regards to his general appearance. Wrinkles dot his skin in various places, showing his age though his hair is still a healthy, wooden-brown. Aldric is also rather muscular, his life spent doing some sort of manual labor or fighting. Thick callouses cover his hands and knuckles - it wouldn't take a detective to figure out Aldric is no stranger to a fistfight or brawl. Aldric is not often seen without his astounding amount of jewels and other accessories. He sports various flamboyant rings on each hand along with other types of jewels around his person. Though he may not take to the sea much anymore, his appearance is that of an old-school pirate. As such, he wears flowing and loose clothing, well-suited to the climate of Limsa Lominsa and a sea-faring vessal.
Scars & Markings: Aldric bares little in regards to scars besides the prominent one crossing his face - something rather surprising for someone who lived a dangerous life at sea. His facial scar runs sideways across his face and seems to have healed well, though it's rather plain it was made by some sort of cutting weapon. Aldric sports a small tattoo of the symbol of The Navigator on his right forearm and a few various symbols and other sea-related tattoos across his body. Beyond this, Aldric is relatively unscathed by scars or tattoos and doesn't have a real interest in them unless there's some sort of sea-worthy story surrounding them. He's quick to ask about other people's tattoos however, curious as to the meaning of them.
Voice:
Aldric speaks (yells) in a rough, hoarse Limsa accent. If you rubbed sandpaper up against a smooth stone, you'd be pretty close to imitating Aldric's voice. He speaks in a heavy Limsa accent - common along sailors and pirates alike - and makes no effort to speak 'properly' to most people though he does try and tone it back for those who aren't natives of Limsa Lominsa. He speaks loudly and clearly and has no time for whispers or polite conversation.
Clothing: Aldric has a pretty simple wardrobe consisting of loose, cloth shirts and long, loose pantaloons. He's partial to wearing boots and beyond this (and his jewels) he wears little else. Known to wear armor from time to time, though he dislikes most anything that would cause him to sink to the bottom of the sea in a heartbeat.

Aldric's main strengths lie within the realms of sea-faring and the shadier parts of Limsa Lominsa. A capable fighter with a hefty amount of experience, Aldric fights in the traditional style of the Marauder - having had plenty of real scenarios in which to test his skills. Though nowadays he prefers to engage in friendly spars as opposed to life-or-death struggles on the high sea. Beyond his physical prowess, Aldric is well-versed in various tales, shanties and legends relating to the sea. Aldric has a large wealth of advice to give, often drawing them from his own youthful mistakes. He makes friends easily with most people and in general is rather sociable though he lacks any sort of refined courtly grace found in Ishgard or any type of high-society. Aldric has a natural inclination towards those similar to himself and can be a rather loyal companion when the chips are down, never one to back down from a fight or a challenge. This often causes problems and solves them in equal measures.
Aldric has never been able to balance his emotions with his natural desires for freedom and adventure. His love-life has been in shambles since he was young and the specters of his past often pop up in the present to cause him trouble or wrack him with guilt. His 'colorful' relations with the various woman he's abandoned over the years often add up and cause problems - not to mention the various bastards and children he's (neglected) to father over the years turning up for a bit of justified vengeance. In general, Aldric has been running from his problems for nigh-on his entire life and lacks the means to deal with them. His age is also starting to show - every year Aldric finds activities he used to be able to do effortlessly just a little bit harder. Despite this, Aldric is too stubborn to tone it down and relentlessly continues his daily activities with little regard for his health. As a proper (retired) pirate, Aldric has a natural inclination for booze and woman and has a generally hard time controlling his urges.
Aldric is known to not take insults regarding his mustache very well.
In his younger days, Aldric brandished a marauder's axe like many of his crewmates. The tools were useful on the high sea and even more useful for climbing aboard enemy vessels (or cutting the ropes of enemies climbing aboard his). Aldric fought extensively during his younger days, both against Garleans and (briefly) against the forces of the Accord when it was first formed. He briefly brought his skills to land when his sailing days were finished, though had little success translating the fighting style to dry land. Nowadays Aldric tends to settle things with his fists and is relatively good with them, focusing on brutal (often cheap) punches. Outside of sparring, Aldric fights as dirty as you'd expect from a pirate, using any means to defeat his opponent. Chairs, silverware and cheap shots are the name of the game in most tavern brawls and Aldric considers himself an expert on the subject. Aldric is also known to be a rather competent wrestler, learning how to grapple and tangle during his younger days of fighting on the high seas. Aldric has next-to-no magical affinity and views most magic with distrust, though he makes a special exception for healing magic - something he's been subjected to quite a bit.
Name (✖ ) - Reddick Strong
|
---|
Aldric's absentee father. The basis from which Aldric's personality and beliefs developed. A true pirate, Reddick was killed during a daring raid on a Garlean frigate years before the Calamity. Friends of Reddick took Aldric in and soon taught him the ways of the sea along with giving him those crucial early years at sea from which he developed his skills. Reddick rarely visited Aldric and when he did the pair usually fought. Aldric's last memory of his father before he left for his ill-fated raid was his father informing him that his mother was a whore. After joining up with Reddick's crew at a young age, Aldric accepted his father's ring from the surviving captain.

Name (✖ ) - Aisisfeik Roansyn
|
---|
The captain of the Llymlaen's Doubt - the first vessel Aldric had ever boarded. Aldric considers this Sea Wolf his true father and learned many of the skills he used to survive on the high seas from him. Aldric joined up with the crew, effectively replacing his dead father, after their unsuccessful raid on a Garlean ship. Aisisfeik sought Aldric out in order to inform him of his father's death and accepted the young Highlander's plea to join up with his crew. Aisisfeik was known as a harsh, but fair captain to his crew and lead a variety of successful raids on both Garlean and Limsan ships alike. This ended quickly as the Maelstrom began to crack down on most independent pirates. He was killed while in port during the events of the Calamity - a fact Aldric finds especially disturbing as he knew Aisisfeik wanted nothing more than to die a glorious death at sea. Aldric received a ring from Aisisfeik's wife as he delivered the news of his death shortly after the calamity. Aldric keeps the ring on him as a sign of respect to the grizzled captain.

Name (♥ ) - Ada Hailwic
|
---|
Aldric's first wife and perhaps the only woman he ever truly loved. An accomplished sailor by her own right, Aldric was quickly smitten with the young Highlander and spent many-a-day trying to woo her. His persistence paid off eventually, and the pair began a romantic relationship that eventually lead to the pair taking a break from sea-faring to live a boring ole' domestic life. Aldric counts these days as the most happy he's ever been and the pair were wed within a year. Ada was an accomplished singer and artist and often performed in Limsa before the Calamity. Her abrupt death shattered Aldric and lead him down a path of vengeance he still follows today. Aldric refuses to discuss the details of her death, though is convinced she was murdered.

Name (● ) - Geir Bloodwake
|
---|
Aldric's childhood rival. Earned the nickname 'Bloodwake' from the slaughter he often left behind after a fight. A cruel and vicious lad from the day Aldric met him. The pair never got along from the start and fights between them were commonplace and the crew of Llymlaen's doubt often had to take precautions to keep the two from killing one another. Geir is envious by nature and above all greedy. Fatherless himself, Geir was deeply jealous of Aldric's relationship with the captain of the Doubt, Aisisfeik. A remorseless killer in Aldric's eyes, Geir is the prime suspect behind Ada's death. Following what small trail Geir has left behind since the crew was disbanded, Aldric is convinced he's creating his own crew and seeks to settle his decades-old debt in blood. Gave Aldric the scar across his face.
