♦ General Backstory

Cirya was born and grew up in a small Miqo'te Seekers of The Sun Tribe, She would spend her early days sparring with her mother in order to train her in the art of the blade. Because of her extreme urge to train everyday in order to one day be able to beat her mother, she neglected to practice socializing with other people, causing her to have issues making new friends. When she wasn't training, she would often be reading books that told tales of Paladins, knights who swore an oath to protect their lord or those they loved, Samurai, Katana wielding swordsman who hail from the far east, and Black Mages, mages who wield powerful, dangerous magic.

Cirya's mother was a strong and respected member of her tribe, known for defeating any member of her tribe who challenged her. When she wasn't busy accepting challenges of those who thought they could best her, she would often be teaching the younger members of her tribe how to fight and hunt. Cirya's father on the other hand... Well, if you were to ask her about him, she would likely respond with how she has mixed feelings about him. He was a "skirt chaser" who flirted and hit on any female Miqo'te in his view, it's a mystery how he even convinced Cirya's mother to marry him in the first place.

Cirya can remember her mother telling her that after she was born, her husband became more... of a worry wort. After some years have passed, one day, Cirya(Now 11 years old) was returning from a hunt with her mother when they were attacked by a group of masked men who were demanding they hand over their valuables. This quickly shifted however, when the leader came out of the shadows and noticed that they were Miqo'te.

The leader would then say something to his thugs, which took Cirya many years to forget, and then begun trying to capture them, causing Cirya's mother to draw her sword and fight them back. Cirya remembers wanting to try and help, but her mother told her to run for it, and the young Cirya would do so. As she was running, she looked back to see that the thugs managed to disarm her mother, one of them holding their sword to her neck as the others kept their weapons pointed at her. Their leader was screaming out an order, but Cirya was already too far away to hear what that order was, but she saw the aftermath. Her mother was impaled through the chest by the lance wielding thug, as the others hit her with their weapons as well, ending with sword wielding thug also stabbing her through the chest, then quickly pulling his sword back as Cirya's mom's body fell back.

Cirya would continue to run, not wanting to get caught by those thugs, however before she looked away, she swears she saw her mother mouth something to the effect of "Don't be scared, my little Cirya... Mommy will always be with you." before her eyes shut, she was dead. Fighting through her tears, Cirya would sprint off, managing to avoid the thugs. She was all alone and didn't know where she ever was. That night, she would crawl into a hollowed out tree trunk and cry herself to sleep.

Many years would pass as Cirya got use to living in the wilderness, improving her sword skills to the point where her sword swings were fast enough to instantly cripple an animal before they could realize what was going on, which allowed for her to make easier kills. She would have already turned 16, meaning she spent 5 years alone in the wilderness, however this would change, as on the same day Cirya was dragging back the corpse of an animal she killed, she would encounter a carriage driver who was on his way to a city-state known as "Ul'dah." Seeing the strange Miqo'te girl wearing dirty clothes and dragging an animal corpse behind her, didn't scare him at all, rather he was quite worried about her, offering to take her into Ul'dah so she could find work.

Cirya had heard of Ul'dah before, her mother would tell her stories about the place that she heard from her dad, as he use to live there. She would accept the man's offer, still unsure of what "work" or a "job" even was. Once they arrived in Ul'dah, Cirya would wander around the city-state, catching the eye of everyone she walked by, eventually reaching Ul'dah's marketplace, known as the "Sapphire Avenue Exchange." Because of her lack of gil, she was unable to buy anything from the venders, causing them to get annoyed at her, telling her to go away.

Once again, Cirya was alone, but unlike before, she was alone in a city-state where no one knew her, forced to sleep on the stone benches or in the nearby alleyway of the Sapphire Avenue Exchange, with the rest of the homeless people. Due to her lack of social skills, she would often sit alone in the corner, watching people walk by, staring at herself by using her sword's blade as a mirror, or reading the book she use to read as a child. This caused the people who saw her everyday to think that there was something wrong with her, causing them to avoid her even more.

She would go on to try and steal food from the merchants, but she would always get caught at the last moment and chased off. She would be forced to eat scraps she found. Eventually she would notice that female Miqo'te dancers when she was walking down the street of the "Steps of Nald". Everyday she would go and watch them dance, then practice the same dancer she saw them perform. After awhile, she would set up a spot at the steps and begin to dance, doing the same dances as the other girls. But that wouldn't be enough, she would come up with her own dances, including spinning which ended with a wink once she made eye contact with her audience. Despite the fact doing this made me feel very embarrassed and shameful, it generated her a good amount of gil, which allowed her to finally be able to buy food and other supplies. This would go on for awhile until she got attacked in the alleyways by thugs who were there to capture her. If you asked Cirya about this day, she would simply reply that it was the thing that scared her away from dancing for gil.

After she cut off her one source of gil, she would try to ration what was left of her gil and food to try and survive. However, one day, while she was wandering around, she would discover the small arena that Ul'dah housed, and would watch the matches as a form of entertainment. Eventually she would learn of the Gladiator's Guild and visit it on a day where there weren't any arena matches. After a series of fights against members of the guild, she was able to join it, quickly becoming known within the guild for her swift and deadly sword swings. Her unique fighting style in the arena would coin her the nickname of "Wild Maiden." As time went on, she would eventually encounter her future boss, an ex Garlean, named Demetre Vi. She would hostile to him at first, believing that he was still a Garlean soldier who was sent to scout out Ul'dah. Believing that the other people with him were also Garlean soldiers that were undercover, she would attack them. However, Demetre would be able to easily defeat her, disarming her, causing her to flee.

As time went on, Cirya would encounter Demetre and free company over and over, until she eventually joined them, becoming good friends with the members. This is where she would remain, even to this day. Cirya would continue to hone her combat skills, taking a trip to Doma in order to learn how to wield a Katana. She would return 4 months later, with an improved sword arm, greatly strengthening her. However... unknown to her, more trials would come up as her adventure continued, testing both of her strength and her resolve...

Echo Power: ???

Description: Even now, Cirya has no Idea what her Echo's purpose is, or what it does. The only thing it has done so far is cause her to have flashbacks to traumatic events in her past, that feel real enough to make her believe that she is reliving them again.

Paladin(⭐⭐⭐⭐) Having grown up being taught how to wield a blade, Cirya was easily able to dominate her opponents with a one handed blade. When it came to adding a shield though... it took her some more time to get the hang of it. The biggest hurdle she faced was throwing the shield and then catching it as it flew back towards her, failing to catch it a good few times before.
