Personality

Cicero is a flamboyant, eccentric, narcissist who loves visually appealing things. He often decorates his sentences with phrases such as “beauty” and “grace”, and relates many things to art, theater, and flowers. He sees every plan and battle as a chance to show off, what he calls his "brilliant and beautiful mind". When he is very excited he will often burst into dance, even while in the middle of a fight. In fact, he actually see’s every fight as simply a dance performed by two people, in which the winner is decided by the individual who is better able to showcase the beauty of their soul.

History

Cicero was born in Garlamald with a silver spoon in his mouth. His family has always been extremely loyal to the Empire and so they were rewarded for their loyalty. As a child, he was tasked with studying battle tactics and strategies, though he seemed to be more interested in theater, poetry, dance, and art. This lead to the occasional bout with his family, but eventually a settlement was arranged allowing him to pursue his true desire while still keeping his family happy by studying something more useful to aid the armies of the Empire.

At the age of twenty-six he was given the title “Tribunus angusticlavius” for his work with crushing numerous rebellions in Ala Mhigo. Since then, Cicero has been in command of a small unit tasked with keeping Ala Mhigo safe from rebel’s and others who would incite chaos or threaten the peaceful citizens of the Empire. His small band of thirty-seven soldiers was almost completely wiped out when he became too over confident of his abilities and allowed his men to walk right into a trap. Only a few survived the attack and he was stripped of his rank, leaving him to brace the shame of his deeds. After being shunned by his family for bringing disgrace to their name he has since left his homeland and has been seen in Eorzea.

Other Notes

He is trained with the sword, but prefers to use his hands. He believes that held fist weapons allow much more graceful and elegant movements. He often coats his claws and weapons in poison which has earned him the title of “Poisonhand” on the battle field. While not physically strong or in the possession of much endurance, Cicero is agile, flexible, and dexterous. He is more of a defensive than offensive fighter, wearing opponents down, frustrating them with taunts, and focusing on evading attacks until he can find an opening. He also likes to give names to his attacks as if they were steps to an elaborate dance; “Dance of the Deadly Butterfly” is his favorite routine.
