Darcelloix Valois: Seeker of the Optimal

Darcelloix Valois, Elezen statistician and master of Optimization, is a Duskwight Elezen living and working in Ul'dah. From a very young age, "Darcell" showed a strong interest in figures. This eventually led to employment with an Ul'dahn merchant lord who valued the Elezen's mathematical skills. While this might seem like a stroke of good fortune, the truth is that Darcell's calculating abilities are actually a sign of a deep-seated personality issue: he is obsessed with the concept of the "Optimal," the idea that all things can be made perfect with enough time, effort and refinement. This obsession creeps into every aspect of his life, from public to private, and it marks him as one of the more bizarre people a traveller passing through Ul'dah can chance to meet.
