Personality

Whimsical and curious, Diamanda's mind is often floating in the clouds. She had always dreamed of seeing more of the world, and when she first set out adventuring it was nothing short of a dream come true to her. Wide-eyed and naive, she knows few outside her village, save for the shadow she chased. Yet, being surrounded by strangers is not something that made her uncomfortable. It was only a matter of finding whomever was willing to chat. People always have stories, and she was always willing to listen if they were willing to tell.

History/Timeline

Childhood

Early Years
Diamanda had grown up in a small fishing village in the Northern part of Vylbrand. Always surrounded by the ocean breeze, it became a familiar and comforting scenery. Life was simple and very little happened and that tranquility gave birth to a wild imagination in her youth. She dreamed of bustling cities and ancient temples, wondering if she'd ever get to see them one day. But alas, there was nothing that ever hinted it as a possibility for her future.

Teenage

A Teacher
It wasn't so unusual for travelers to stop by her village. Ships would sometimes stop by to stock up on supplies before they set out once again to their destination. One such ship happened to drop off a traveler, and while not that unusual, this traveler had taken a bit of an interest in Diamanda. There were so few new faces and Diamanda always took the opportunity to strike up a conversation with anyone who was willing. This traveler was no different, and but instead of stories she learned something else; Arcanima. The heavy tome he carried was of great interest to her, and he indulged her curiosity. He only stayed around long enough for her to learn the basics, but it was enough, and he gifted her a tome of her own before he left.

Present

Till the End
Another boat, and another traveler. A young novice adventurer had come to their village, or rather, a fledgling adventurer. He was going to head to Limsa Lominsa and officially become a part of the Adventurer's Guild. She wasn't quite sure what it was. Maybe it was his accent, or maybe perhaps it was the crooked way he smiled that she found charming, but Diamanda was infatuated with the young man. They were close in age, merely years apart, and he seemed to be just as enthusiastic about adventuring as Diamanda was. What was meant to be a stay of only a couple days turned to weeks as the two bonded. Their days were filled with talks of tales they could live and sights they could see. Together.
It felt possible. However, he knew he could not stay forever and if he thought to make those stories a reality he had to be on his way. The two had every intention of leaving together, but Diamanda's parents had disapproved. Convinced that this traveler was a terrible influence on their daughter, they effectively chased him out of the village.
On Her Own
Distraught by her parents' actions Diamanda took to helping out around the village. Not to be a good citizen and eventually settle down, oh no, she had every intention of leaving now. Little by little she saved up enough gil to get her on a ship to Limsa Lominsa. She was certain there'd be work for adventurer's once she got there, and she knew she would make it work somehow. So, with a short letter of goodbye, she left while her parents were out fishing to the next village. It was a little bigger than hers and it saw more ships coming in and out, and it was there that she found her ship bound to Limsa Lominsa. She was determined to see the world, and she hoped that maybe, just maybe, she would find that traveler and they could go. Together. Just like they promised.
